Wait. What?!
LOL, social media tracking some private jet going south to Mexico...just some innocent family going on vacation now harboring an assassin in the luggage compartment.

Not taking away from the seriously sad event but the theories were pretty incredible.

Huh, can you post a screen shot of this clearly seen rifle for me?
I can try. He's not carrying the backpack, that's the rifle he's carrying. The backpack is on his back. Associated Press I was watching last night and they have a good video. Go to the settings and slow it down to .25 and you can see he's wearing the backpack and holding the rifle.

Sometimes I wish we could all take a collective deep breath. The past couple days were pretty wild on the internet.

He is now but I'd never heard of him and no one I've spoken to since this happened had either.

He was definitely not "well known around the world", as far as I can see.
I'd imagine it depends on a person's interests? I have Christian friends around the world that knew Charlie. I don't know if he was "well known" but he was known, and is deeply missed.

Those are my thoughts, as well. Parents know, we all have a sense, gut feeling when it comes to our kids. Moo....
Has any information been published about where the gun came from? Could it be his father's?

Utah has a semi-closed primary system, in which registered members and unaffiliated voters may vote in the Democratic primary, but only registered Republicans may vote in the Republican primary. I'm not sure what, if any, significance this had to Robinson -- for all I know, maybe he just didn't want to commit or had mixed feelings at the moment he turned 18 -- but it's a thing.

Primary rules by state

Anecdotal, but my 18 year old is registered independent. So perhaps it’s more common than it once was?
Where I live they passed a motor voter law in 2020 that automatically registers every driver to vote. The last time I renewed my drivers license they changed my registration to independent, which means I can no longer vote in primaries
Gah.

Just found out, even half expected an arrest after yesterday's developments and photos.
I really have no words.
Feel drained, empty, and at a loss.
Heartbroken for his parents.

Yes. And on tv. They really should confront people who knew nothing about the crime or the perpetrator, who were saying some pretty outrageous things on tv. Now that the perpetrator has been arrested, and is absolutely nothing like the perpetrator they made a synopsis about.

I believe he’s of age that he could of bought it himself

Finally, justice begins for Charlie Kirk and his family, and for the nation. Governor Cox stated during the press conference that they would be working closely with Charlie's wife and parents as they prosecute this case.

WS is victim friendly, and it's important to remember the true victims of this assassination. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk, and deepest of sympathies to Erika Kirk, the infant and toddler children, and Charlie's parents.

I had no idea who he was ( I'm in Canada) but Im not a big politics person. One of my best friends is very familiar with him , and she really liked listening to him, but never discussed it with me.

It appears to me this guy is a chronically online memelord and gamer. He just etched whatever catchphrases caught his eye.

some snips from the DM article:

Robinson has two younger brothers, and lives in a $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah

The alleged killer confessed to his father, who is a a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, sources told Daily Mail
Charlie Kirk 'killer' identified as Tyler Robinson

ETA I feel for his family and the 💩 storm this young man has thrust them all into.

Since his father turned him in, maybe they will take the Death Penalty off the table. This is not really in federal jurisdiction, unless it is broadly interpreted. This is a state crime.
Utah state has the death penalty, doesn’t need federal charges

I think he will be charged with federal crimes for sure and that the death penalty will be on the table for those charges. Likely domestic terrorism will be included. JMO

I'd like to know what motivated the person who killed Charlie to think it was a good idea to kill someone.
And to possibly face the death penalty once caught, one would think it would've been a very important reason.
Personally, I doubt it will be. Luigi doesn't seem to have any important motivation.

Honestly, society just seems like it's breaking down, especially among the under 30's. What the actual hell is going on with people?

That was my thought yesterday as well when the blurry images were released and he looked so young.

He's 22, so he's had 4 years in Utah to legally buy rifles. So who knows, at this point.
