Sandy City Police Department

NEED HELP LOCATING A MISSING PERSON

Jan Pearson-Jenkins was last seen on Thursday October 4, 2018 when she left to go camping with Cody Young. Jan and Cody told family they were going camping in the area of Silver City/Eureka, Utah. Cody messaged Jan’s family on Friday October 5, 2018 advising them he and Jan were in an argument and he had left her in the area. Jan did not take her purse and cell phone. Jan was not dressed appropriately for the cold weather.

Police have been unable to locate Cody to speak with him about Jan. We are asking for the public’s help with locating Jan and Cody. Jan is described as a 64-year-old Caucasian female, approximately 5’3”-5’4” tall. Jan is approximately 130 lbs with short grayish-brown hair and walks slightly hunched over. Jan has two 10-inch scars on her right arm. Cody is described as being in his mid-forties, a Caucasian male with a slender build standing around 5’5”. Cody also has a little facial hair and golden-brown hair in a ponytail. Cody also wears glasses. Cody is believed to be driving an older (possibly 80’s) dark-colored van with Tennessee plates.

I think Cody is on the run.
It sure does look that way! I have a feeling he did something to her. Called to try to establish a reason for her non-return and took off!

KUTV reported that according to her family the two were in a relationship and the argument started over money he believed he was owed for work he had done on the home she lived in with her mother. He sent multiple texts to her brother with coordinates where she could be picked up but she was not there. There is also mention that she has long-term addiction issues so no telling what her medical state was when she left his vehicle without her purse or phone. Argument over money may have led to Sandy woman's disappearance, family says

Body recovered believed to be missing woman, family says | KSL.com
The family of Jan Pearson-Jenkins told KSL they believe the body discovered by officials is that of Pearson-Jenkins, 64.

Juab County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Brent Pulver confirmed that a body was located but they have not yet identified the body. Juab County Sheriff's Office officials said the body was found within a 5-mile radius of the initial search area where crews were searching.

“We have found a body. I cannot confirm the identity of the body. Circumstantially, one could believe that it is hers,” Pulver said.

Could body be that of missing Juab County woman?
He did not say exactly where the body was found or how the person may have died.

"We were searching the area for two things: to look for any evidence of her and where they were camping. Earlier today we found that actual camp spot that places him there and some evidence that places her there," he said.
“He no longer wanted to tolerate her behavior and that is when he kicked her out of the van,” Jace Pearson, Pearson-Jenkins’ brother, said Thursday.

Pearson described the text messages as bizarre.

“It rambled on, it was 55 pages of text messages that basically talked about their crazy relationship,” he said, adding that the argument may have been about money.

I found a mugshot for him from 2015. This isn't his first arrest, hopefully, it will be his last though.

Police arrest person of interest in missing woman case

Snipped from update:
After the argument, Young told detectives he "contemplated whether he should go back and pick Jan up," the report states, but ended up going to Nephi. He spent the next two nights there in a gas station parking lot, according to the report.

He also made unsuccessful attempts to call Pearson-Jenkins' brother to tell him where she was and ended up sending the brother a text message, the report states.

After staying two nights in Nephi, he traveled to Yuba State Park and was there until authorities located him Saturday, according to the report. He told detectives he continued reading articles in the news about Pearson-Jenkins, and "thought that something bad could have happened to Jan," the report states.

My stars! He spent 2 nights in his van, in the parking lot of a gas station!
Sounds like he definitely did something bad to her, or knew she would die.
Why else would he be in hiding?
And it is cooooold in Utah, snow in the mountains.
What in the world????
:mad::eek:
