Boyfriend arrested in death of missing Sandy woman

"Cody was reported to be in somewhat of a relationship with Jan," a Juab County Jail report states.

"The female was nude, and three articles of clothing were found on the ground near her. The female had marks and bruising on the back and legs as well as a mark on her head. It appeared the body had been exposed to the elements for some time," the report states.

I don't personally believe he laid a hand to her, I think he just abandoned her and was so high he didn't consider the consequences clearly. (The smoking meth" remark and the 55 pages of rambling TEXT mentioned in the link above show he was likely impaired). The bruises could be from falling as hypothermia causes both muscle constrictions and hallucinations and the lack of clothing is a marker of the phenomenon called paradoxical undressing where the blood vessels near the surface of the skin suddenly dilate because the muscles that have been constricting them are exhausted which causes a sensation of intense heat.

Man accused of murdering Sandy woman released from jail

A judge released Cody Young, 42, on November 13, according to court documents.

Undersheriff Brent Pulver with Juab County said Pearson-Jenkins’ death is still under investigation while detectives wait on finalized autopsy reports.

SALT LAKE CITY — Following a nine-month investigation, a Nephi man has been charged in connection wtih the death of a Sandy woman whose naked body was found on a sagebrush hillside in Juab County.

Cody Alexander Young, 43, was charged Monday in Juab County's 4th District Court with manslaughter, a second-degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a class A misdemeanor. A $50,000 warrant was issued for his arrest.
