This is sure interesting from your link. I wondered what prompted them to search there, or all places, when the murder was at their home. Sounds like perhaps the found mud or dirt at the scene and traced it back to that site? I'm not sure how but this is definitely interesting.

On Monday, investigators have been clearing through the phragmites as they moved in and out of the riverbed throughout the day, equipped with waders, shovels, and diving equipment.

"Our police have been gathering various sources of evidence, sending them to labs to get analyzed, and that trail has, or has, led us to this location where we're looking for additional evidence," said Saratoga Springs Police Department spokesperson AnnElise Harrison.

What a terrible tragedy. Does anyone else feel like the sister might be in danger? And why does the father have any say so to surveillance video from the home. Maybe he monitored the children's comments and going and that's why he had access?
