I didn't get to see all of it, but it seems like they had a decent amount of evidence. Its a shame the bullets, etc. were tossed and the car wasn't processed.
This may have been answered here, so excuse me if it has, but how does LE know that AP was the creepy person who stalked the women at their camp ground spot? The women had told others about the creepy camper guy, but didn't identify him as AP. However, it seems like the women knew AP. He had worked at the same fast food place, right? If he was the creepy camper guy, the women would have recognized him, right?
ETA: I'm now reading the comment above about wearing masks at work as a factor in Crystal not recognizing AP from work. Ok. I'm still not sure, though. The rest of the evidence is stronger, somewhat convincing. I realize that's the best they had to work with. He was staying under the radar and they wouldn't have known he had committed suicide.
LE figured out it was him from video surveillance of the area. They also have the story about him scavenging from other people's coolers. Then, he was invited to eat with them to try to make friends with him, he overstayed his welcome, and then was angry when he was asked to leave. The pics in the news conference show his car and show him at the camp site between the tent and his car.
Also, she didn't work the same shift with him at McDonalds. She didn't interact with him much at all, but did on the one occasion when she went in on a day off to make sandwiches. He was rude to her because she wasn't in uniform and he didn't know she was an employee. Then, when he was told she was an employee, but wasn't making sandwiches for customers, he was angry. He was very volatile and dangerous from everything they found on his phone during the investigation. Not to mention telling his SO that he killed 2 women in Utah and had details that LE hadn't released. I am very satisfied that he was the one.
