They were careful with how they characterized what they found in the presser after his arrest - they simply said "tissue". It didn't seem to me this was just out of respect. Several of us wondered if she was still not yet found. In the Jessica Ridgeway case, where she was dismembered, LE referred to what they found as "remains" and stated that were not "intact". They were not all in the same location.

After the remark about the tissue, LE was specifically asked if they had found her body and they declined to comment. So, I believe they knew from the start that there were remains in another location.

I don't know if I think this is a dismemberment case, or if it makes sense that there was tissue on other objects used in her murder or afterwards. But whatever the whole story, it's clear that he is not the brightest bulb in the box.

If she was found Wednesday, maybe it took LE the time from discovery to the press conference today to investigate the scene, gather all the evidence, take pictures...

I drove up past second dam on the left and got a couple pics. This is exactly the place I thought of when I first heard she was found in Logan Canyon. It looks as though a few areas of grass has been marred down with car tires.

Throughout these posts,is it correct ML's body was found at the side of an access road in Logan Canyon?

Being from a different country, the fact Canyon is in the name of the area where ML's body was found, perhaps does not indicate this is a Canyon site ie large cavity and rocks etc. o_Oo_Oo_O

In much of the U.S., a canyon might refer to a traditional crevice difficult to access, etc, but it might also refer to a large geological formation or a manmade route through a mountainous area, large enough for several roads, campgrounds, buildings, etc. to be contained within the "canyon" that bears the name of Logan Canyon, in this case. Hope that helps!

ETA: to clarify, "canyon" basically just means it's a route (for water, cards, people, any or all ofthe above, etc.) between or through mountains. So pretty broad.

There’s no reason to make this any worse than it has to be, by focusing on the worst possible things that could have happened to her.

Regardless of what happened, this was bad.

We don’t know that he sadistically tortured her, or that she suffered for an extended period of time.

We could spend days speculating on this stuff, and it doesn’t get us anywhere.

Most killers aren’t serial killers, and most serial killers aren’t Jeffrey Dahmer.

We remember guys like that, because what they did was so unusual in the first place.

That sort of thing doesn’t happen with any regularity.

I think he raped her. He killed her. And then he burned her.

He kept no trophies, and his concern was self preservation.

Feeling so badly for her family and friends- although finding her body provides her family with the ability to give Kenzie a proper burial I just feel that what was found on Wednesday was not a whole and intact body or remains and that has to be even more devastating for her family and friends... Wishing them peace prayers that they will be able to hold on to and cherish memories of wonderful times spent with her.

Live from a couple of hours ago. Haven't listened yet, so I'm not sure if there is anything new.

Wow, it seems a little odd that the woman interviewed said she was offended that her canyon was "desecrated like that."
I understand what she is saying but you would think her remark would be about how offensive it is that Mckenzie's body was desecrated like that. Imo

That's interesting, MsBetsy, I took her comment the same way you did when I first read the article. It just struck me as strange for some reason. Nevermind the canyon, what about ML?

Statistically, they say in cases where women are abducted and murdered they are usually killed within two hours.
I'm hoping it was quick.
That he was already making fires that same day makes me think it was. Imo

How were they able to charge AA with aggravated homicide with only the tissue they found at his house? Blood and skin tissue is not proof of death! It seems like they would need brain tissue (etc.) to determine she had actually died. This is puzzling.

I heard the same, the 17th and 18th mornings. I also remember hearing the Fox report and thinking they were wrong at the time because it did not match, but it could be that he also had fires on those dates as well, whether it related to her or her things, hard to say, when the length was only 30 minutes for those fires. Maybe further cleanup...

Jmo.
The reporting was all over the place, lol.
