BBM. So they forensically identified her meaning the body was unidentifiable. I know what I think that means, but take what you can from that statement.

And if she was in a stream why would they need diving equipment? Adds so many questions!!

I would think that if she was in or near water that forensics would want to make sure there was no other evidence left in the area-- such as weapon, clothing personal items, items that may be missing from the home of the murderer. This scene is a secondary scene but could yield important evidence in the case.

My first thought was at least she was in a beautiful place. We know of so many that have been found that were not.

She had been out there for a long time (since June 16-18) and possibly in the water. The weather has been between the high 70s to upper 80s. I can only imagine the shape her remains were in regardless of whether or not he burned her.

I’m a little surprised that SLC police were able to keep all of this under wraps until today. Secondary scene, requests for dive gear, there had to be movement of personnel out of town.

It was pixelated because I had to compress the pictures so I could upload them. There is no water around 348 that I could see, also the road was blocked off with barriers from both sides. The west side was blocked off about 50 feet from 89 and east side where I drove was blocked off about 200 feet from 89. I am wondering if she was found on FR044 instead of 348.

I still feel strongly for them to confirm to the public she was dead with only some tissue and phone info, that she was not in one piece. Either that or they found video or photos. Just based of the podcasts I have listened to and books I have read, the detectives have said time and time again that’s the only time aside from a massive blood stain that they confirm a death without a body.

There is another case where the prep, Brooke Skylar Richardson killed her new born, burned and then buried the baby.

Now her lawyers wants three different trials for her - one for aggravated murder, another for involuntary manslaughter and endangering children and finally a trial for tampering with evidence and abuse of corpse.

I wonder AA lawyers will go for something similar. Wonder what is the edge in these tactics.

Also I am wondering who will get the harsher penalty if both these cases were held in the same state.

I’m from the county where this happened. My thought is her lawyers are thinking of all the charges are lumped together it’s more likely the jury will find her guilty of all. Separating them gives them more of a chance for a not guilty verdict, maybe? But the thing with Brooke is was her baby born alive. She says it was still born and she got rid of it. Not murder just abuse of corpse. So we’ll see. But totally different crimes imo. But I guess murder is murder.

Very surprising. That’s not an easy thing to do.

It would be much easier if you knew exactly where you were going, and exactly what you were looking for.

There’s no reason to make this any worse than it has to be, by focusing on the worst possible things that could have happened to her.

Regardless of what happened, this was bad.

We don’t know that he sadistically tortured her, or that she suffered for an extended period of time.

We could spend days speculating on this stuff, and it doesn’t get us anywhere.

Most killers aren’t serial killers, and most serial killers aren’t Jeffrey Dahmer.

We remember guys like that, because what they did was so unusual in the first place.

That sort of thing doesn’t happen with any regularity.

I think he raped her. He killed her. And then he burned her.

Maybe it depends what type of skin was found? Is there any muscle tissue found attached to the skin? Was any hair attached to the skin that was found?
All kinds of ideas come to mind so that LE could have had a good idea from the skin found whether she was alive or not. An elbow skin looks different than facial skin, one would presume. A scalp is different than the bottom of a foot.

We don't know what they found, only that it was human tissue, and that it took a lab to identify it and match DNA. There was never a reference to skin.

This was already mentioned by someone else a few pages back, but it is possible that they found brain matter as their source of body tissue. This would obviously indicate that she was deceased. While IMO she was dismembered, we don’t know for sure just yet. If I am remembering correctly and if the article was factual, it was also stated that they found human female tissue amongst charred material that belonged to Kenzie. So do we know for sure that the tissue was charred? I’m sorry, I know that this was talked about a few pages back but I am trying to be quick with my response.

I think that depends on whether or not there is circumstantial evidence, and how strong it is. Imo

I should not be surprised, varying and conflicting news reports bother me in each and every case . In this case, I guess it is possible most are correct but just different accounts... I wouldn't count on it though lol.

It was windy with thunder showers and light rain and I could smell smoke in the air. Thinking that it was a little too early and windy for a back yard campfire I thought that perhaps lightning had struck a telephone pole or a tree in the area, and that is why I was smelling smoke. I am not sure if it was related to this case or not but I thought it was interesting when I heard that he had several fires over the course of several days. The checkout time on my receipt was 4:53 PM.

I apologize if anyone has mentioned this, but what if the “desecration” involved him trying to eliminate identification? The “tissue” could’ve been hands/feet/fingertips?? We’ve already established that the fire may not have been hot enough to incinerate the bone. If they found this type of body parts, it would indicate that she was dead and remains were elsewhere...

And then he dumped the rest, hoping the elements and animals would take over before she was actually found...
