I'm no expert, but I can't find one with rear lights that shape, not even a 2016. They seem to have a very distinctive pointed shape, unless I'm looking at the wrong model.

OOPS! Not sure why I was thinking Altima. It's a Toyota Camry (derf)

Super long time lurker here. WS is an awesome community!

I know it came up (as recently as earlier in this thread, I think) that it was possible ML had previously been to the park where the Lyft dropped her off. However, this is unverified. If perhaps she had not been there before, I wonder if she could have thought it was a safer meeting spot than it turned out to be. Although the Lyft driver apparently didn’t pick up in any uneasiness upon arrival so perhaps not. Sorry.. just thinking out loud here.

As far as why she was meeting him there in the first place, I’ve been considering reasons my friends and I may have done so at that age, and have some theories... All my own opinion.

Firstly, I do not believe it was the first time they met in person. For the obvious reason, that it’s not a great idea to meet someone for the first time alone at 3am. But also because, even if she didn’t have any intentions of a sexual relationship, I just don’t think many young women would want to have their very first meeting with someone right after getting off a flight, especially after a loved one’s funeral.

I seriously doubt ML met AA with a plan for anything sexual to take place that night. While I agree with other posters that she looked beautiful as always in the airport pics, young women are often quite critical of their own appearances. If posters thought her eyes/face looked puffy, I think we can bet that she saw and felt it too. I think it’s very possible that she met with AA for weed or maybe even some Xanax. The drug angle makes the most sense to me considering the time and where she had just come from. Perhaps he said they would go on a “blunt ride” and then he’d drive her home. MOO

Because her phone went off immediately after arriving at the park, I believe this had to be premeditated. Not necessarily well thought out, but premeditated. I also believe ML was murdered at AA’s home. While he (thankfully) doesn't seem to be extremely bright, I still cannot imagine he would murder her by the canyon and then take the risk of not only transporting evidence in his car, but bringing it back to his home. Again MOO

Agree, premeditation but not good premeditation.

Welcome to Websleuths, @PurplePolkaDot. :) There seem to be a number of posters here who agree with your thinking - that ML met AA at the park to score drugs of some kind. Personally, I do not but I do agree that there are signs of premeditation. MOO

I hate to give this visual. But, wouldn’t dismemberment be extremely bloody and messy? Wouldn’t blood be mentioned more?
Assuming this is (hopefully) his first murder... is it common for a first time murderer to actually dismember someone?

It would be very messy indeed. That’s why I would like to hear from LE specifically that “No, we did not find any blood evidence inside the house.”

ARS was 17 years old when he dismembered Jessica. I think that was his first murder.

Geez Louise, y'all! I disappear for a couple of days to enjoy the birthday of the United States and LE FINDS HER IN A CANYON??? And California is trying to crack off of the rest of the country???

I didn't see her being found, but am thrilled that they did. Therefore, I am backing WAY down on more people being involved. Nonetheless, I'm hoping the FBI is still running this idiot through Interpol.

MOO, MOO

Hi MassGuy
I would never say this is Law enforcements fault. In fact I said they did a great job in making an arrest. In my opinion People making these speculations are not idiots . LE knows what they say has consequences, and I am not saying they needed to hide important facts...."finding some of her remains would have been just as good as finding some of her Burned remains"
Speculation is what investigation is all about, isn't it?

He was charged with murder.

The purpose of the arrest warrant is to justify the charges. Part of that, is showing that she was dead in the first place, and that the crime was elevated to “aggravated.”

Body desecration does this, thus, they had to include it.

Hi Suzi!

I dont think the neighbors would have heard anything especially if he had duct taped her mouth, and gagged her.

But even if not there have been countless cases where the neighborsrught next door did not hear one thing even those where the victims were shot with a high powered firearm even in apartments with adjoining walls to the victims.

The inside of homes have so many things that absorb, and buffer any sounds from being heard from the outside..

I think he did all his barbaric torture down in his basement anyway, and that would further absorb any sounds.

He may have desecrated her body in his garage because it would be closer to an exit door.

Even if outside I dont believe anyone would have heard anything.

I think, and pray KL quickly lost consciousness due to the brutal depravity he was making her endure.

Jmoo though

Do we have a COD and know she was tortured? If so, I haven't seen that reported. tia

Someone else has already been tried and convicted for the killing of Tiffany Jarmon (woman found murdered in Logan Canyon in 2008.) Apologies if this has already been posted.

Man who killed woman found in Logan Canyon re-sentenced to up to life in prison

(Thanks for posting this. I meant to follow up on this.)

No COD and no information about any details re: her murder.

Though there is absolutely no evidence at this point, I’m hoping she died quickly from a drug overdose...no violence, no sense of horror and overwhelming fear. No prolonged suffering....

I hope everything else is just his inept attempt to CYA.

I know...I know...the mattress giveaway. Kind of bursts my hopeful bubble.

“Speculation is what investigation is all about”. I kindly disagree. Investigation is based off of facts and putting the pieces together. Maybe a bit of speculation. But it’s not what it’s “all about”. IMO.
Respectfully--we do not have all the Facts so we are not investigating here--we are speculating?

Has the report of all the AR munition found been addressed? What's up with that? Was it 250 rounds or am I not remembering right?

It was 27 boxes, and most boxes have 20 rounds.

Considering that weapon, it’s not an unusual number of rounds.
