But you can't always hide it from your family. Both of my daughters were on our family plan for phones until they were 30. It was a nice thing for me to do, right? But I also would have had access to their records immediately if they went missing.

They both still use a credit card linked to my account for gas (I don't pay the bill, but we have joint accounts at the bank). That means I'd have some idea about main credit card activity, even now. Only one daughter shares account with her husband (that's really common these days).

So, people can do what they want, but they can also decide to leave a trail for others to follow. Almost no one understands "the risk" of bumping up against a crazy psychopath. That can happen to anyone, no matter how cautious.

Becoming the target of someone like AA is a lot like getting hit by a car jumping a curb, or even lightening. People try to mind their safety, and then they make a mistake, or something out of their control happens to set them up.
The responsibility for murder is on the murderer. Many men struggle with anger, and 99 percent of them manage to not kill people because things aren't going their way.

This is a perfect example of the point I’m trying to make.

IF the scenario was simply that she was going to meet up with a friend, there *wasn’t* any risk she needed to be aware of.

If she had known him for a while and previously met up with him, it wouldn’t have been taking a risk to go visit her friend.

It isn't blaming her to believe that there must have been some sort of relationship or arrangement that we don't know about. You yourself are supposing they were casually dating or friends with benefits but there is no evidence of that. All we know is that they texted before and after her flight and she agreed to take a Lyft from the airport, with her luggage, to meet him at a park in the opposite direction as her residence, at 3 am. That does not sound like a casual dating relationship or friends with benefits. If it was a friendship or casual relationship, he could have picked her up at the airport, or she could have taken a Lyft to his house, or she could have taken a Lyft home and then she could have driven to meet him or he could have driven to meet her. Friends don't ask friends to come straight from the airport with their luggage to a park at 3 am. It sounds more like there was some reason she felt obligated or pressured to meet with him as soon as she returned from California.

Oh, I’ve seen many posts where there is so much speculation about how Kenzie was forced to go to him. Possibilities I’ve seen are, he was a sugar daddy and had given her money before she left town and was insisting on her seeing him immediately when she returned. Or, he had nude photos of her and was blackmailing her, insisting she see him or he’d embarrass her with the photos. Or, she used some type of drug that he supplied to her in exchange for sexual favors, and he was insisting upon a meetup or else he would tell everyone she used drugs. Or, he was a sugar daddy and had found out she had another sugar daddy and was insisting on seeing her because he felt betrayed.

It’s seriously ridiculous the things people have come up with.

The saddest part is that even if it turns out to be the most simple explanation (they knew each other, had been dating casually or were friends with benefits, and she wanted to see him when she got back so she could relax and be with a friend), there will still be people who blame her. “She shouldn’t have been dating casually...she shouldn’t have been having sex outside of marriage...she shouldn’t have been with a black guy...she shouldn’t have been with someone who isn’t from our country (I’ve seen that one!)...she should have gone home to get sleep so she could study for her exam, she should have gone home to see her cat first...”

The world exhausts me sometimes with the contrast of how vast the world is vs how narrow some people’s views are.
I think the charge of "aggravated kidnapping" may have fueled interest or speculation on the details of their meeting. For example, could aggravated kidnapping mean she was tricked, forced, lured to get in the car? Or does the aggravated kidnapping charge apply to something else. I haven't seen any victim blaming posts here that you describe myself.

I'm sure it's well-intentioned concern - but I'd agree. I've seen posts talking about how XYZ may be a part of the circumstances surrounding ML's murder. I haven't seen posts saying ML bears some blame for her death because of XYZ. Other parts of the internet - sure - you can find a different story.

Could the kidnapping charges apply to ML being restrained or generally unable to leave AA's house? Could they eventually be dropped?

We can only speculate what LE knows and it looks like they know a lot!

When would it be likely for her body to be released to the family for burial?

SBBM

I think you may be conflating the two jobs?

Goldman contract work ended in Aug 2018.

It appears that shortly thereafter, he went to work for Dell (separate job altogether), until he was fired in July 2019. As with Chris Watts, it's likely AA was fired upon his arrest.
Agree a company could involuntarily term someone for failing to report to work and not having the appropriate time off to take. Makes it clear and simple for the company.

Trust me they can trick the smartest. Some are lucky and get out unharmed.

It varies from place to place, and situation to situation.

I’ve seen it done extremely fast (within a day or two), and I’ve seen it take substantially longer (weeks or more).

Judging by the way her body was treated, I’m not surprised it’s taken this long.

Hopefully they’re done soon, so her family can finally put her to rest.

Want to see something alarming. If you have an iPhone go to Settings>Privacy>System Services(Scrolll all the way down)> Significant Locations. Scary.

As far as privacy, your right. We basically have none. Those days are done. We are tracked in cyber space, on the road, anywhere we go.

But most criminals and evil people dont care. They act on impulse and couldnt care less about the consequences and punishment.

Ayoola Ajayi, suspect in MacKenzie Lueck’s murder, expunged his Utah theft case, clearing his record
The 2012 report from Utah State University says police there wanted Ayoola Ajayi charged with a class B misdemeanor for stealing an iPad.

What happened after that has been a mystery in the three weeks since he was accused of kidnapping and murdering MacKenzie Lueck in Salt Lake City, when reporters and investigators tried to reconstruct his background. Utah’s court database has no listing of charges being filed.

A piece of the puzzle was solved Wednesday. An employee who answered the phone at the Cache County jail confirmed its records on Ajayi had been expunged.

[...]

July 22, 2012, campus police investigated the theft of an iPad, according to reports provided by the campus. The next day, USU technology staff found that someone was using the tablet to access the internet. Police found Ajayi using the iPad in the iconic academic building known as Old Main, a report says.

An officer searched the iPad’s web history and found that, though Ajayi was married, he accessed dating sites, listed himself as single and was pursuing “a female as a prospect to marry to keep from being deported.”

Ajayi was booked into the Cache County jail July 24, 2012, according to the USU reports.

TONIGHT 8:00 PM EASTERN, 6 PM MOUNTAIN TIME, WE WELCOME MACKENZIE LUECK'S CLOSE FRIENDS ASHLEY FINE AND KENNEDY STONER.

WE WILL TAKE YOUR LIVE CALLS AT 713-955-0606

IF YOU WANT TO POST QUESTIONS FOR TONIGHT'S SHOW PLEASE DO SO ON THIS THREAD OR EMAIL ME AT [email protected]

Mackenzie Lueck was a go-getter. A smart young woman who was majoring in kinesiology at the University of Utah with a goal to go to nursing school until June 17rh when she went missing. Her remains were eventually found on June 25th in Logan Canyon.

She was last seen getting into the vehicle of someone we believe she had scheduled to meet in a local park. That man has been arrested for her murder.

Since that day she went missing Kenzie's friends, her sorority sister and her family worked non-stop to get the word out and find Kenzie.

On this episode of Websleuths Radio Podcast, we welcome two of Kenzie's best friends. Her sorority little sister Kennedy Stoner and Ashley Fine.

These two incredible young women were thrown into the viper's pit of media and gossip while trying to find their friend. Their lives have changed forever because of Kenzie and now they continue to work to help other missing people.

Join us tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern by clicking here!

MOO Thankfully in Utah you don't need premeditation for Aggravated Murder, a murder conviction + desecration of the body is aggravated murder.

Ayoola’s defense will spinan alternative tale of accidental death. The task is to show that a 2.5 cm hole in her skull was not accidental.

The charges also will be made to simultaneously gain a conviction of aggravated kidnapping which in itself is punishable by life without parole.

Ayoola’s murderous intent will be obvious to the courtroom when prosecutor’s reveal an autopsy of MacKenzie’s charred remains document a blow to her skull so vicious it left a hole the diameter of a quarter (2.5cm).

MOO

The family is still on extreme lockdown. I'm wondering if the community is going to do any kind of remembrance for her. That would have to come from the family, and they are still processing and grieving and they may never be ready for that. The GoFundMe is filled with $5 and $10 donations from the kids who knew her in school. I still can't believe that this happened to Kenzie.

Oh I’m sure. This was unthinkable to begin with, and that’s before all of the horrible details.

  1. How did Mackenzie and AA know each other? (Friends, online friends only, bf/gf, friends with bennies, acquaintance, business arrangement, SD/SB...)
  2. How and when did they meet?
  3. Had they ever met in person before?
  4. Why did they meet at the park?
  5. What were there plans after leaving the park?
  6. What did the texts between Mackenzie and AA say?
  7. Did Mackenzie turn off her phone?

I was referring to speculation regarding the "Aggravated Kidnapping" charge not the "Aggravated Murder charge.
