Vanessa is the daughter of Martin and Michelle. It appears that Vanessa had a child out of wedlock (Ada). Ada was then legally adopted by Martin and Michelle.

After hearing screaming and seeing what was going on, a friend at the house called police. IIRC, he brought up a little more than that! He read it on a Twitter but since it is not main stream news, what he read could not be discussed on the show. I had read the same thing somewhere on the web.

So did they hide Vanessa's pregnancy? Because I would assume that would be a big thing in the LDS community. Did Martin and Michelle pretend that Michelle gave birth to her, or did people know what was going on (Vanessa pregnant)?
