Yes, that's my point. The jury is there to decide whether or not he killed her, they are not gonna take it as a given yet. So they could take the viewpoint that the daughters subsequently thought he killed her, and so are seeing his actions surrounding the murder in a clouded judgement.
This is not my opinion, I'm just trying to think how it comes across to the jury, who have not formed their opinions yet on whether or not he killed her, and who are probably under the impression that that is their whole job in this case and that their job is to not cloud their judgement.
