Per HLN from the Courtroom. Video Interview Ada was playing with several toys that were in the room. Accounts for some of the noises we heard. Also observed rocking back and forth.

Why did MM and GW break it off?

I have to say Martin may have come out of this totally clean had he went with a suicide. Left out the tub altogether. Michele had all those drugs available. Oh I have been having an affair and told Michele. Yadayadayada........

I truely believe that Martin had already tried to kill her once. Remember when Alexis stated that she stayed by her moms side the first couple of days after they got home from the hospital, and her mom was doing good? Then Martin insisted that Alexis had to be tired and she needed to get some sleep. "I'll look after Michele tonight." The next morning when Alexis came in the bedroom, her mom was almost comatose! Alexis said what did you do, she was fine last night? He said, oh, I must have given her too much medicine. (not verbatim)...I honestly think that was his first attempt! To make it look like she died from complications from the surgery. But Michele didn't die that night and Martin had to go to plan B. Odd to me that as soon as Alexis leaves to go back to school on the 10th, her mother is dead on the 11th. IMO~

ITA. But can't you hear a lot of mothers of that age group saying "Why can't you find a doctor or a lawyer to marry?" Perceived status is everything to some. Goodness trumps those letters after a name for sure. :seeya:

Man, I sure hope my little girl says something more along the lines of, "Why don't I become a doctor or a lawyer?"

My favorite niece has decided that she wants to be a full-time mother. She's an attorney who is married to an attorney. She's a girl who has understood throughout her life that true free agency is the ability to make choices, because you've put yourself in a position to have options. When her kids get older, she'll be able to tell them, with confidence, that they are capable of achieving whatever they want. "Gypsy," if she was taught that at all, sure doesn't seem to have gotten that message.

Out on bail

Are you sure about that? The last I heard, he was being held on a $1 million, cash-only bond. He served his time for the fraud, and was released. It was then that he was finally arrested and charged with murder. I don't think he's been out since.

He was out for a brief time after doing a few years in jail for the fraud charges, but was charged with murder and back in custody.

HLN
MacNeill no longer holds a license to practice medicine. He surrendered his license in Utah in 2009 and had his license to practice in Washington suspended in 2010 following his conviction on fraud charges.

Jury selection for MacNeill's murder trial began Tuesday. He has been in jail, held on a $1 million bond, since his arrest.

So Gypsy claimed to not remember when Martin proposed to her? Must not have been real love then.

MOO

Could someone explain to me why MM and Gypsy "pretended" to get married on the day of Michelle's funeral? They didn't really get married? but MM wore a new wedding ring?
I'm really confused as to why they would do this. Why? What's the scheme about?
I am driving myself crazy to come up with a reason :scared:
Am I wrong with the "pretend" marriage? I thought, originally, that they really got married.

BBM I think the same. He tried to overdose her. Michelle was concerned MM was giving her too much medicine, and asked Alexis to help her identify the pills by touch so she could know what MM was trying to get her to swallow.

They didn't get married -- thought I do not know why exactly.

That's okay. Heck, there are so many confusing lies in all of this, it's impossible to keep straight. When I first read about all of this, I remember feeling amazed at how completely surreal it all was. And it just keeps going and going. From the stuff he did in his early life, to his threats of suicide every time he would get caught doing something, to Michele's death, to sending his daughter off to rot in a Ukrainian orphanage, to his poor son committing suicide - it just goes on and on.

It's all really strange to me why they didn't just get married instead of just pretending.

I thought the reason they pretended to be married was so she could go to the px on the military base. He even filled out the form for her. I believe this was the federal charge they were arrested for previously.

I THINK if you lie on a government form, you can be charged with perjury. I'm not sure of that charge, but it's something close to it.

ETA, there were more charges. Here's a video explaining some of them. hth, fran

How do we know for sure they broke it off?

I think if he gets off they will be together pending any possible legal issues. He gazed at Berton fondly. Jmo
