The letter to the college is very telling imho. A major bungle first it not being in the records that Alexis had in front of her and the fairly obvious to everyone watching Alexis had never seen it before. Defense Atty. Spencer pulling the "Perry Mason" style against Alexis actually made me laugh. Raising his voice and forcefully s telling Alexis "There is a lot of things you do not remember!!!" while she calmly looks at him, made him look foolish, like a comic book character. I think this is a great day for the Michelle Macneill's loved ones getting their voices finally heard.

They are getting to the fact that Michele did not die from the drugs in her system, she died from drowning. However, the drugs in her system helped in her death.

Yes I agree. Most of the drugs were CNS Depressants. Which can kill in concert. Since it did not Martin had to shove her face under the water. IMO.

if you were to learn that the defendant had told someone or others that he had drugged up MM and convinced her to get into the tub and held her down for a little bit

would that be consistent with how she died here

YES

Can't believe the judge allowed him to paint that picture for the jury!! Wow!

Lunch break

This makes the testimony from the Inmates even more important now

I hope the defense takes this lunch break to prepare themselves so that they do not stand at the podium and shuffle through papers trying to find an appropriate question to ask Dr. Grey. But since they have been ill prepared so far, I fear that we will once again be subjected to a long drawn out cross.

So, did he give her the Phenergan to keep her from throwing up the rest of the drug cocktail?

As an RN that would be my opinion, plus the fact that phenergan is a strong sedative as well and would work with the other drugs she had been given. There can be a stacking effect of symptoms (ex: if one drug makes you drowsy, adding another can enhance the drowsiness, etc). But, I think he gave it to her to prevent her from vomiting the other drugs. Am wondering if she was checked rectally for presence of promethazine (I doubt it seriously though).

Excellent!

I've not read everything on this case, but would't drowning be a cause of death if MM held her underwater?

I was give a similar suppository after surgery for vomiting. I wasn't taking any other medication with it because I couldn't hold it down. The medication in the suppository made me so foggy I went to the ER. I could barely hold up my head and couldn't think. It made me feel drugged and the ER doctor said it is notorious for those type of symptoms. I now have it on my list of meds to never take again!

I can't imagine mixing that med with other oral ones. He would have had to carry her to the bathtub. I doubt she could have even stood.

I'm surprised there wasn't more about that. Or maybe there was and I missed it. If she had such a combo of drugs in her system, when would she have become comatose?

I'd think the defense will be quick with this witness. "Regardless of what you added later that COULD have happened, it's still POSSIBLE that her death could have been accidental as the original ME stated, correct?" Do they really need to cover much of anything other than that?

I am somewhat disappointed about the information (references/jobs) that Alexis provided in her application for medical school. I hope she doesn't suffer any repercussions, but if the information was not accurate, it could be bad.

Since the facelift is an elective surgery I'm still wondering why no ekg? Especially with the hypertension

HLN has just now finished with the testimony of Alexis.
I would like to thank everyone for the excellent updates that were posted.
BTW I think Alexis did great!

What all are the inmates supposedly going to testify about?

BBM That really depends on the patient. It is different for each person.

I would think the doctor who cleared her for surgery would have done an EKG. I think that test would be part of the protocol. There is the possibility that one was done in the hospital pre op on the day of surgery. That is a good possibility.
