ITA with what you have to say. I'd couch the "feelings and thoughts" with the term "common sense," which the law allows for. IMO, common sense ruled the day with this jury, unlike another jury we know all too well.

BBM You mean the 12 that needed a photo of the murder to say

"murder"? :stormingmad:

There's something wrong with juries in Florida, IMO. Must be the heat? :twocents:

IIRC, Alexis testified that when she got up, she asked MM what time her mother had been given medication so she could record the time and meds on her Zyrtec pad. That would explain why it was all written at one time and the writing is the same.

Yes Apollo I remember that, but I was always alittle suspicious as to what he "said" he gave her. I'm sure he left out quite a few more that he shoved down her throat. Actually, I am surprised he admitted to giving her as many as he did. Maybe he afraid Alexis might count the pills that were left? They were all given around 1:00-1:30 am, IIRC

The Jurors discussing Gypsey ~

Snipped From aticle below

Kitty, Juror #9 said, "I don't think any of us think she's innocent in any of this. I think she’s very much a part of it."

Ken, Juror # 43 told ABC 4 Utah’s Kimberly Nelson, "I think that Gypsy likes a stage and this trial provided her with a stage so she could be in the spotlight."

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing allegations that a Utah doctor convicted of drowning his wife in a bathtub may have committed a similar crime in South Jersey.

“We are looking into it,” Prosecutor Warren Faulk said Thursday of the claim that Dr. Martin MacNeill killed his brother, Rufus, several decades ago.

"It was a combination of all the evidence that really got me there," juror Stuart Lewis, 28, told the Deseret News on Wednesday. "There were too many things . that shouldn't have been that way unless he had done it."

Lewis said the five-man, three-woman jury believed that MacNeill twice over-medicated his wife, with what experts testified were painkillers, Valium and sleeping pills...

"These were the two times that he was alone with her, and we know he gave her the medication the first time," Lewis said. "We believe the second time was intentional as well, absolutely."

Convicted killer Martin MacNeill still faces other legal battles

By Jennifer Dobner, For the Deseret News
Salt Lake City, UT

Updated: 1 hour ago

PROVO — A former Pleasant Grove doctor convicted of murdering his wife by drugging her and drowning her in a bathtub will appeal the decision handed down by jurors last weekend, his attorney said.

But before that happens, Martin MacNeill has other legal battles to fight. He is scheduled to return to a Provo court on Monday to answer other criminal charges.

Snipped:

Spencer also represents MacNeill in the sex abuse case. Judge Samuel McVey will hear oral arguments on a motion to continue Monday. A two-day jury trial is currently scheduled to begin Dec. 3.

“I just can’t do that trial in December. I’m emotionally and physically exhausted. I need some time to recuperate,” Spencer said Wednesday. “So the judge will hear my motion to continue and we’ll plan from there.”

I agree, but also think that if this case were someplace like Florida, California, New York, it would have come back not-guilty. This was a very conservative jury. I'm not saying they got it wrong, actually feel they got it very right. But I'm just saying that I think there would have been a few holdouts in some other, less conservative place.

You are not crazy, lol. It did not work for me earlier either, so I googled the phrases, clicked that googly thing at the bottom of the page that says something about show omitted results, and found a working result with a bunch of the original links still not working. Okay, now, maybe I am the crazy one!

Yes---that's the one I remember!! Her sister, Julie is towards the end.She stated "If she wants something, she'll hurt anyone in her way---she doesn't care." I had forgotten that Gypsy's family had said that Gypsy enjoyed killing animals---YIKES! Her mother also showed a picture of her arm from a time when Gypsy had lunged at her and bit her---huge black and blue mark on her arm and according to her mother you could see every tooth mark.

That link takes me to hulu which says expired. I've never been able to find the whole 20/20 episode online. Help please! Is it on YouTube? Where can I find it???

Thanks for the link. I watched this and the Dateline I missed the other night.

Okay, I must live around a bunch of heathens. Here we call a spade a spade. Forget diplomacy or skirting, but it was her parents, so they get a pass.

The Dateline episode, there was a disclaimer on the website that most of the footage in these shows are recorded long before the case even makes it to Court. So that may be why some thought it was weak. Some of the footage was from the original Dateline, so I would guess nearly all of it, other than the MC, was recorded then. I liked it, I liked the way it went.

I love the man that MC's the Dateline's voice too, he has a soothing sort of voice and has trained himself to annunciate well, and to use pitches. I like the way he lilts things, like the Rankin-Bass Holiday Specials of yore. Just more craycray via yours truly on voices. :D
