UT - Parenting influencer, Ruby Franke, and blogger/podcast partner Jodi Hildebrandt, arrested for Child Abuse, Aug 2023 #2

Complaint here
I'm not any kind of expert in civil law, but this claim reads more like something that would be filed by prosecutors in federal court, after an FBI investigation. I've never heard of an individual suing for racketeering...that's like suing a mafia family for personal damages...

I wonder whether the point of the lawsuit is to put the allegations out into the media...?

Anyway, it sounds about right to me, in terms of what Jodi was up to. Whether it was illegal...?

It's tough, because it seems the child in question never verified her father's suspicions.

This seems like a long shot but I'm up for anything that would lead to further legal troubles for this pair.

The role her husband played, even if he was just a bystander, still rubs me off no matter what Shari says. Ultimately, it's their decision to forgive him or not, so my opinion doesn't matter but still.

“My wife Ruby’s sole ambition was to be seen as the perfect mom, and so she decided to create a YouTube channel and we became ‘8 Passengers,’” he explains.

Shari adds, “Our entire schedule revolved around YouTube. It felt more like a set than a house.”

Ruby Franke Wanted to Be 'Seen as the Perfect Mom.' She Wound Up Disgraced and Behind Bars

I will be watching this series.

Ok I can appreciate a mother wanting to be a perfect mother. Don’t we all want to be the best parent for our children. No matter our best efforts, we miss here and there.

The obvious thing here is that she wanted to be seen that way ‘publicly’. I can’t make sense of her wanting that but doing horrible things to her children. It’s contradictory.

I also don’t know why people followed her because she was posting about some of the things she was doing. No doubt, I would have reported her.

Oh no, she didn't want to be a "perfect mother", she just wanted to look like one and be praised for it. She was never even an okay mother to begin with.

Right!!! Is she that messed up to be doing unethical and immoral things versus the children being dressed impeccably, lunches packed with pristine organic ingredients, family devotions, a grand Steinway piano for the children’s lessons, horses, euro vacations, and other things? I didn’t watch it so I don’t know if any of these were incorporated but my point is that she was doing harmful things that were physical and emotionally affecting her children.

What is the disconnect? I wouldn’t be doing bad things on a public platform that the world sees. It opens her up to be questioned by.

I didn’t watch 8 passengers either but my daughter did and I find that disturbing now. I did watch the previous documentary and the emaciated state of the son who escaped was shocking plus the house was set up as some kind of prison if I recall rightly. Awful god knows what went on behind closed doors

For a while, the children were dressed in name brand clothes, and for Church, they wore the typical Mormon Sunday clothes, which are really cute. They did have instruments they would play, it was the harp, violin and piano, I think. On the surface, they did seem like a "normal" happy family, but people started to pick a few signs here and there.

She would make mean comments about one of the daughters' acne. Then she would be just plain cruel to another daughter (J), when she wanted to try swim lessons for the first time she was surprised how good she was right away, but not in a proud mom way, more in a hateful, mean way. And she did the same thing to the same daughter when she tried running and did crazy good too. This kid in particular always looked sad and developed a nervous tic that would be very obvious whenever Ruby interacted on camera with her. Ruby AND Kevin went on vacation and left the children at home with Shari right when Covid hit and the stores had nothing. Shari had been dealing with health issues, namely really bad headaches and they wouldn't take her to the doctor to get it checked out. I remember she made Chad buy his clothes with his own money when he went back to public school. Anyways, on the surface they looked normal but when you looked closely you would be able to pick up stuff that was abusive and cruel to the kids, once Jodi came around I'm not sure if she was so enamoured with her that she started getting sloppy and the abuse/neglect did become more and more evident, but I never thought she was being so violent with them.

I think people, especially her family, are highly influenced by what happened after she cancelled her show. After she'd met and been influenced by Jodi H.

I just assume that of course, people who start youtube channels are highly motivated to present themselves as perfect. People everywhere use social media to present themselves as perfect. No one posts real life on social media. And, even in real life they present a highly edited version of themselves, trying to look perfect. To do it on YT must have been exhausting.

Ruby Franke's estranged husband speaks out about dangers of social media

"I want people to know that there is real danger when you place yourself or your family or children out onto public social media," Kevin Franke told Pilgrim in an interview alongside his eldest son, Chad.

"There are real consequences associated with that, and I want people to know that, to be just careful with who they choose to follow, with who they choose to put on a pedestal and to put their faith and to put their trust in,” he continued. “Because if you put your trust in the wrong person, it can have massive consequences in your life."

“The last letter that I received from her from prison was maybe in March or April of last year,” he tells PEOPLE.

“And then I requested the Department of Corrections to ask her to stop writing me," he adds. "I didn't want to hear anymore. I didn't like what she was saying.”

He refused to say what exactly was in those letters.

“I'm not going to share,” he says. “That's between her and I

It looks like Kevin is going on a publicity tour. I guess this is his new income.

yeah, not really a fan of Kevin but apparently he won't be facing any legal consequences for having abdicated his role of father and abandoning his children to his abusive wife and her sicko business partner and maybe lover.

“Between her and I”. Outside of sharing details on their intimacy what else would justify not sharing the details? It could be information that would be helpful.
