NEW: The bail hearings that were set today for #RubyFranke and #JodiHildebrabdt have been CONTINUED. No info on a new date yet. Law&Crime's @sierragillespie is at the courthouse in St. George, Utah and will provide more information as she gets it.

. @sierragillespie spoke to Jodi Hildebrandt's attorney who said the hearing today was postponed because of the amount of discovery....attorneys need more time.

DELAYED: Jodi Hildebrandt and Ruby Franke were set to appear this morning in Washington County court. Hildebrandt’s attorney tells me a motion was filed this morning because both sides need more time for discovery.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (KUTV) — The hearing in the Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt criminal case that was scheduled to take place Monday, Sept. 18, has been postponed.

Officials of Utah State Courts cited "additional time needed to review copious amounts of discovery" as the reason for the delay.

The court date, initially scheduled for 11 a.m. today, was postponed after attorneys filed a stipulated motion to continue the review hearing after Oct. 5.
Court hearing for Ruby Franke, Jodi Hildebrandt postposed due to copious amounts of info
Seems like it was obvious bail wasn't going to happen, not because the discovery is copious, but because the actual evidence is.

my opinion.

A woman who shared a jail cell with Ruby Franke for three nights said Franke seemed fixated on her YouTube partner Jodi Hildebrandt and complained that they were held separately from one another.
[snip]
Monsen said she spent around an hour with Hildebrandt at the start of her stay in the Purgatory Correctional Facility, followed by three nights with Franke in a medical area. As of Thursday, both Franke and Hildebrandt were listed as still being in the jail.

snipped/bolded/underlined by me

For real?!?!

That’s hilarious. And so very apropos.

Ruby Franke's attorney said he expects his client to be incarcerated for a while, as a hearing to address her custody status was delayed Monday.

"My client is incarcerated, and that looks like it's going to continue for the foreseeable future," LaMar Winward said.
[snip]
Ruby Franke appeared virtually Monday morning in 4th District Juvenile Court in Provo, hours before a hearing in St. George was scheduled in her criminal case. A document was filed in her case Monday asking to continue the hearing in that case until after Oct. 5.
[snip]
at the Provo hearing Monday, Judge Suchada Bazzelle talked about a pending motion to seal the case, which has been agreed to by all the attorneys. Ruby Franke's husband, Kevin Franke, was at the courthouse with his attorney.

Bazzelle expressed a desire to only speak about scheduling and procedural issues during the case, citing a motion that has been filed to close the case to the public. She asked attorneys to be careful about what is said in court while that motion is pending.

Virginia Blanchard, who represents the children in the case, said this case deals with sensitive issues involving children. She filed the motion to seal the case.

"(Not sealing the case) is fundamentally unfair to them, it's contrary to their best interests … and it's being tried on the world's stage as we speak," she said.

Bazelle said she wants to consider other viewpoints, and noted that there were multiple media representatives in the room, but agreed that dealing with children is sometimes sensitive.

Bazzelle asked Shari Franke, Ruby's oldest daughter who was at the hearing with an attorney, to file a motion weighing in on the request to seal the case, which would prevent her from attending future hearings.

"I'd like to know your perspective so I can weigh that in," Bazzelle said.
[snip]
The hearing on Oct. 17 is set to occur in person, and Bazzelle said the court will prepare a transportation order for Ruby Franke to be transported from jail. The hearing will be public unless Bazzelle grants the motion to seal the case.

Was waiting for this to be posted. It was crazy witnessing the decent into madness as a viewer from the early days. They went from a normal family channel to unconventional and worrying parenting to unbelievable cult-like preaching. I've said for a while it reminded me of the Lori Vallow case but it's scary to think how there was a bit of truth in that.

Curious about her millions of followers. Were they mostly cheering on her harsh discipline methods?

I’m still just horrified that millions of people “followed” her in the first place.

Not surprised. I've noticed in some purity cultures a fixation to be very desirable physically while at the same time being a model modest woman (model in the sense of "example" and also model in the sense of "beautiful"). Very hard to maintain that facade of so-called perfection, and seems almost inevitable that a person couldn't keep it up and almost requires covering up secrets.

Yeah, wondering if they were following specifically for the harsh content, and that they supported it, and whether there was any feedback loop, where RF would give her audience more of what they wanted. I am sure there were hate followers, but that would be a smaller number.

I wonder if kids watched it, perhaps thinking the pretty family in the videos was better than their own. I hope Ruby didn't serve as what a "good" mom looks like for impressionable young people.

“Given the heinous abuse allegations, the agency felt that the surrender of the license was the best course of action to protect the safety of Hildebrandt’s patients and clients,” Margaret Busse, the executive director of the Utah Department of Commerce said in a statement to the media on Tuesday.

The agreement, obtained by PEOPLE, sees that Hildebrandt’s license will be frozen amid the criminal charges against her and she has a hearing before the state's Clinical Mental Health Counselor Licensing Board, which will determine the future of her ability to practice in the state. Hildebrandt has been a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Utah since 2005.

Despite agreeing to freezing her license, the agreement states Hildebrandt "does not herein admit any wrongdoing" in regards to her arrest and six felony child abuse charges.

Definitely not. Like I said she got the vast majority of her followers before she ever showed anything worrying - it really was just like watching a normal family at first. I'm cautious saying this because I don't want to exonerate Ruby in her crimes but the change in behaviour was 100% a result of Jodi's involvement in the family (circa 2020 I want to say). A lot of the worrying clips in the vlogs were post-Jodi (like her eldest son being sent to the Wilderness camp was on Jodi's recommendation for example). By this time majority of the watchers were turned off at this point and some even made a petition to get the family investigated.

Cynthia, who is the wife of Ruby's husband Kevin's older brother Alan, said, 'We had no idea what was going on in the family.

'I don't think she should get out on bail. I do believe the allegations against her. After all of this she should be put away forever if convicted.'

Jennifer Franke, 42, who is married to Kevin's brother Aaron, said, 'Ruby isn't really my cup of tea. I've never really liked her from day one. She always thought she was better than anyone she's around.

'If you look up narcissist in the dictionary, there will be a picture of Ruby.'
[snip]
'I feel bad for Kevin, he's like almost brainwashed. I feel sorry for him,' Kevin's sister-in-law said

YouTuber mom Ruby Franke's family says she should be put away forever

seems like Ruby wears the pants per the sisters in law

ETA I note tho that these women haven't really interacted with Ruby and Kevin in the last decade. So their reaching out to the DM kinda feels icky, as if they couldn't wait for their 15 now that the SIL they dislike is in the news. I think they are right in their assessment of the couple but if they haven't been around in a decade the Mail probably didn't seek them out if you know what I mean.

I think DM sought them out. They’re good at that. They’re going to seek out everyone they can in the hopes of hitting pay dirt. Both women are pictured at their doors. I think DM came knocking. And they agreed to speak due to backlash against the family as a whole.

Hildebrandt has agreed not to see patients until the allegations are addressed by state licensing officials, state licensing officials said on Tuesday.
Son of Ruby Franke, YouTube mom charged with child abuse, says therapist tied him up, used cayenne pepper to dress wounds

um what? LMAO Good to know that Jodi "agrees" not to see patients. In jail. This doesn't even make sense. They don't need her "agreement" and I doubt her cellies are lining up for appointments.
IF/when she gets out of prison, I suppose she start a new business as a Mental Health Fitness Coach or whatever title they gave Ruby that didn't require credentials.
