No problem. I've been without good internet for a while so I can't watch online either.
I'm just able to watch because local so it's on the news. :seeya:

Well I really do appreciate it. Thanks so much. :)

When was the robbery?

I believe Isa's case is "solved". When LE will press charges is another matter.

I believe Sierra's case will be solved quickly for the following reasons -

1. she was found quickly. This will make investigating the crime a lot easier - witness with fresh memories, evidence still in situ.

2. the dumping of her body so publicly and close to home implies to me that it is a local killer, and disorganised. He may be young as he doesn't appear to have had a place to take her to, nor means to take her. It is likely he is an RSO or has a police record of another sort that will bring him to LE's attention, or he will be suggested to police by someone who knows him.

Of course there is not enough released publicly so far to really make a judgement, but the above is my gut.

JMO!

The only thing I got wrong was his age...however from the look of him, I suspect a low IQ which would affect his emotional age.

YAY for Utah LE!!!!!!

Hopefully this will quiet the "serial kidnapper" fears...he obviously had nothing to do with Isa...he would've dumped her too.

MOO.

Found right behind apartments were Black lived in apartments.

Just to note:

This man is plenty old enough to also be responsible for Rosie Tapia's murder.

The robbery was June 29th.

I give a huge high 5 to the detective that connected the dots. This was not a case of a similar crime happening and connecting the dots. The new crime was away from the area, but the detective noticed that his place of residence was near Sierra. He began checking, and found items to arouse suspicion. Attaboy!!!!!!! That is some true detective work there!!! Already on his way to jail, I am sure that they made certain he was not getting out before the tests were concluded that positively identified him as little Sierra's killer!!

I am shaking I am so sickened by this. A 270 pound man vs. a 6 year old. Oh and btw they went to the same church together. Will this ever end?

Great job LE-this is the way every case should end!! Now -please put him in general population and let him fend for himself...tyvm..

My good thoughts and prayers are being sent to Sierra's family. ....they will surely need them.

My prayers and sympathies are with Sierra's parents, friends, and family as they deal with all of this overwhelming news. They must be relieved, but also shocked, and horribly saddened to hear additional details of their little one's horrible last moments.

:rose: R.I.P. Sweet little Sierra :rose:

Most teenagers would have showered or changed clothes, because they likely would have panicked, dumped the body and cleaned up.

This guy didn't panic.
He went out and robbed a bank without bathing and in the same clothes he was wearing when he killed a child.

I don't think dumping her so close to home has to indicate he's "young" emotionally.

I think it goes along with not bathing after a rape, not changing or washing your clothes after a murder...

He's either cocky or he's stupid.

I was not familiar with Rosie's murder-BUT ----omg they are IDENTICAL

It's a miracle and divine intervention according to LE.

I think I'll give credit to a stupid criminal and of course the detectives who connected the dots.

If it's divine intervention then why didn't Rosie, Kiplyn, Kyron, Ayla etc get that help. :tears:

It is absolutely amazing and fortuitous that they connected the dots when the booked him! I am SO happy they were so on top of things!

Where was he before that ten years? Where was he in August of 1995?

Where was he for the weekend of 4/20/2012?

It appears he's been in Utah for 20 years or more... so was likely here when Rosie was murdered in August of 1995.

Black faced several charges in Richfield in the early 1990s, including supplying alcohol to a minor and disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer.

-------------------

In 1993, he was named in a paternity suit filed at Richfield’s 6th District Court.

He is stupid.

A low IQ often means a low EIQ as well.

(Emotional Intelligence Quotient).

I never said dumping her close to home means he's young.

I said dumping her close to home means he's disorganised, impulsive, and doesn't have access to a vehicle or a place to take her, which could indicate he's young.

Now we know he stole a car for a robbery...

Not wanting to take away from any of the hard work of LE, but if an armchair detective over the other side of the world can pick out what sort of suspect they are looking for, it is hardly "divine intervention" when they caught him...the guy was right under their noses, all along. Two plus two equals four.

These are the reasons I believed it would be solved quickly...and it has been.

No Godly interference, just good old fashioned police work IMO.

That was 4 days later, and he still hadn't showered or changed his clothes? Did he live alone? he must have.

  • #418
Actually, I am beginning to think that maybe Black did panick. Maybe he never dared to return home after killing Sierra; therefore, the no bathing and no change of clothes. He wandered around wondering where to go and what to do. Eventually, he stole a care then tried to rob so that he could skip town. He may have even heard about the surveillance video and thought that he would be caught quickly because he would be recognized by the family.

The affidavit said that the Newbold family had a video surveillance system that caught an image of a person entering the Newbold home at 3:05 a.m. and leaving the home, carrying something at 3:13 a.m.

So it took him 8 minutes...
