Roanoke mother arrested for homicide of her 2-month-old infant: Police

A woman has been arrested for the February homicide of her two-month-old son, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

37-year-old Lindsey Renee Burnette, of Roanoke, was indicted by a grand jury last week on felony homicide, abuse/neglect of a child causing serious injury and child cruelty. She was then arrested on Sept. 3.

Burnette, who has a long criminal history in Virginia's Roanoke County, including several arrests for methamphetamine possession and racketeering, was taken into custody on Sept. 3 and booked into the Roanoke City Adult Detention Center. She is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6.
