I am not going to claim that Amy definitly fell overboard, but s far as I am all ships are supposed to have a man overboard procedure to try to rescue anyone who is suspecte dof going overboard. Now the ships staff were told of Amy's disappearence within about half an hour of her last being seen therefore even if they did think she was on the ship surely they should also have put the man overboard procedure into practice. Yet I have not seen anythign thta indicates this happened, their attitude seems to have been that they could nto find her, so it was not their problem.

I think that they did do searches in the water and air for Amy if I remember correctly. I have to also say when I took my cruise I missed the ship. I was hysterical when I came back to the port and saw my ship leaving they said they waited an extra 15 minutes for me and when I didnt show up they gave another cruise line who was docked there my passport in case I came back so that way I could get home. Do we know if any other ships were docked with her RC ship there in Curaco or was it the only ship? Dont ask me why I am asking these questions lol I have no idea it just was something I was thinking about... I was up late last night thinking about how completely helpless she must have felt being in a totally different place with nothing at all of hers.
I think Caribbean said he passed the FBI said it was inconclusive. Important to remember that Y could have other reasons for disimulating for example if the ship management had leaned on him to say he hadn't made the comment to Brad. It is significant that he didn't fail it IMO.
I am not certain that we can say that nobody else knew about Amy missing when the comment was made to Brad. It is just Iva as far as I know on Vanished who says only the Captain and the Security Team (and for some reason she adds Brad) who knew Amy was missing.
Going by what we know of the ship management I doubt they would try that hard to keep the news just within the Team in fact the quickest way by far to look for Amy would be to ask around and they may have 1. asked the band and staff directly since they would have known Amy was dancing or listening to music previous night 2. then told the Staff to say nothing to anybody. 3. Rumour would spread like wildfire among the staff and crew in any case.
One thing to remember is that Iva previously believed that the woman imposter of Amy was Amy not only because of the tattoos but because she was certain that she walked like Amy, looked like her etc. AND they paid out a lot of money to the bogus guy without getting his creds better checked. Also it might have been obvious to them that the ship could not possibly have been checked by security in such a short time and of course it would have been obvious to ask passengers "was your room checked?". <modsnip>
I have already pointed out that Chris Fenwick's account of the "two girls" meeting with Amy's family and the account by Iva on Vanished are quite different.
I am just keeping my eye on a scenario where someone else on the ship may have eyed Amy and possibly before the cruise. If as one sleuther here suggested it was someone in her Dad's company that might even explain the prize of the cruise holiday itself. And then the sleazy crew and band were an easy target for suspicion. Nothing I am saying would contradict the sightings of Amy or the participation of B & Z or anything in fact if her abduction was extremely personal it might explain some of the mysterious aspects.

I am not sure why the family left the boat again flew home from St. Thomas. As they were leaving the boat was arriving in Puerto Rico.
Ron's boss chartered a Lear Jet for them. I will just guess that maybe or more of Amy's family were cracking up under the strain (?). (Or in line with what I recently suggested and C.M. concurred with could someone in the company be trying to get the family back to the U.S.)?
Why do this and why this huge expense? I'd be wanting to talk as long as possible to people on the boat surely some others would be interested I doubt everyone of the boat is completely shallow and wouldn't care about a missing woman - also Puerto Rico has a very different status politically vis a vis the U.S. And since the trip was ending there Puerto Rico would be one place you would want to make sure she was not being smuggled off.

I hope nobody will be offended if I just bring up a couple of discrepancies between the Vanished and Mysteries shows as well as as magazine articles.
In Vanished Ron says he went back to sleep after seeing Amy at 5:30 because he knew they were planning to get up in twenty minutes to have breakfast because they were planning to go into Curacao. In the other show he says he woke up at 6:00 but he doesn't know why, something just made him wake up. Vanished is the later show obviously so in effect there he claims to have known he was going to get up in 20 minutes and then does, in the earlier show he doesn't seem to be planning to get up but something, he doesn't know what wakes, him. In the earlier show he seems slightly annoyed when he asks Amy to turn off the light (a simulation) and when he insists that he would have shut the balcony door.
The times of when Amy arrives back to the cabin vary a lot. Some say 5 minutes after Brad. But one article says the ship lock system recorded I think 3:40 for Brad that article doesn't give a time for Amy but on Vanished Brad says she came back between 4:15 and 4:30. Lot's more time for Amy to be talking to someone alone though on the other hand they seemed to be separated for a lot of the night anyway.
I have no idea if these are significant differances or what it would mean if anything. Just documenting it.
One thing that struck me in the article: on the balcony Amy asks Brad if he has ever gone jet-skiing. Could this have been suggested as an activity to lure Amy? And this may be a little crazy but is there any way Amy could be jet-skiied from the boat? Overall, to her credit, Amy seems to have a bit more of any "edge" to her than the All American girl label would suggest I don't even think tattoos were as common as they are now back in 1998. Would she up for a pre-breakfast adventure assuming this is even possible.

Chorley, you make some excellent points. Regarding the jet skiing, do we know if there were any activities planned that morning/day?
Like I've said before, I have never been on a cruise so I have no clue what activities, if any, are planned on these cruises. I've been to vacation/holiday resorts and we had to register a day or two in advance if we wanted to participate in any activity. Be it snorkling, jet skiing, swimming with dolphins, etc.
Someone may have lured her in that way.

Not sure what you mean by status but the Field Office in charge of the investigation on the FBI site for Amy's case is San Juan, PR
I would have to think there is some alliance between both countries as it relates to this case.

Yes I would think Puerto Rico would be the place to get the easiest help at least outside the American islands.
Just to be clear I'm not suggesting the Bradley's should have done this or that. It does seem to have been the captain who encouraged them to get off the ship at Curacao and as they said, didn't seem overjoyed to seem them back on! So I wonder if they were encouraged in some way once again to leave from St. Thomas.
The dogs: I believe they were brought on but came up empty. We know Amy was on the boat of course so I wonder what that means. Maybe some of you know scent dogs better than others of us. How likely is that a dog could figure out where Amy was hidden (assuming she wasn't taken off at Curacao) or would be able to follow her route (say from the bar where she was last seen?). Maybe there are too many people on a boat, too much data for the dogs to process?
from my knowledge on the one cruise i have been on you can prepay for shore excursions either in advance or once you board the ship my husband and i decided to wing it if you will because you have a lower cost and you dkont have to remain in a group ( you see how that turned out we missed the boat!) however when you take the cruise excursion they guarantee that you wont be left and that you make it back to the boat on time thats kinda the reason most take them... i can totally see someone saying hey look im really familiar with the island why dont you meet me early and i can take you jet skiing i know a guy something to that effect i personally didnt see away for someone to get off the boat early everyone was kinda waiting around for the boat to dock and huddled around the exit area so they could get going once we docked we all left the exact same area and had to hand our cards to a crew member to swipe us out of course this was last year things were probably totally different then and vary depending on who you cruised with

Interesting thought. I have never seen anyone jet-skiing anywhere in areas such as that anywhere near that early hour in the morning, usually much later such as mid-morning .... and if Amy has the intelligence as has been described, I don't think she would have fallen for a hoax like that, but that's jmo.
Yes I don't really understand the lay-out of these boats and just wondered if apart from the official exit there was anyway to unload a jetski. But thanks as I said probably far-fetched and possibly not worth too much thought.
