Has any news of the mothers involvement or no involvement been announced?

for the locals regarding the previously posted **rumor**.

Is there a doctors office near the food lion as described?

Thank you, Cubby. I've been searching for clues in his stories, too. The white SUV, something from the OJ Simpson ride on the freeway? It bothered me from the start that he had given so many details about the 3 guys when supposedly he was hit when he opened the door. And even if he had seen them earlier how could he remember so many details? I have guys work for me that I see all night long on our shift and I couldn't even tell you what they have on half the time. I know where that Food Lion is but I don't know about a doctor's office, I haven't been over there in that area for a while. This whole thing seems like a bad dream.

I've used bing & google maps -- haven't found one close to Food Lion.

There's clinics fairly close tho, but I can't find any within a couple blocks.

Still looking.

I just noticed this caption under a pic of a Forensics Services Unit vehicle:

Tuesday night, crews were searching an area near 20th street and Loudon Avenue.

How sad for little Aveion.

However, since it was pretty obvious from the beginning that the story was changing and didn't make much sense, I'm glad for the family's sake that the police got him to fess up and the stepdad's terrible charade (what a revealing word from him after all!) doesn't continue indefinitely; they can start to grieve instead of waiting for ransom demands.

I wonder what the mother knew and what was her part in the cover-up, if any. Some of her behavior looks like she maybe knew...? The lack of public pleas may suggest she was already grieving and knew it was no use? The stepfather said that he was unconscious when she came back to a ransacked home, then he woke up, then they looked for the children together and called the police. I don't know about you but if I came home and found my husband unconscious, that would have me on 911 right away. If I came home and found the house ransacked I'd be on 911 right away. She supposedly had both sights in front of her, and to add to the horror all of her kids weren't immediately visible, and she still took the time to wait for her unconscious husband to wake up, to discuss the situation with him, then they looked for the kids together and only then does the mother decide it's time to call 911? Or did the stepdad call? I don't know, it just doesn't sound quite right to me either way. But I've only got the stepfather's word that it happened like that and he's a liar, so...? I dunno.

She could be innocent and have acted in good faith if he put up a good show. It's a bit tricky to pretend to be unconscious and completely unresponsive if you aren't and if she poked him she may initially have thought that he was just nearly passed out but not in danger and that he had destroyed the decor while high or something, and may have been angry at him instead of scared of kidnappers, and may have thought that he'd left the kids with a sitter and that there was no emergency until she found Aveion missing and heard her husband's tale about the attack.

I don't know. I haven't seen or read many of her comments so I'll just have to reserve judgment for now.

Bless little Aveion and may he be brought home soon.

Missing boy is dead, police told
The stepfather of missing toddler Aveion Lewis made the statement, and is being held for further questioning.

<snip>
The stepfather, Brandon Lockett, was being held Tuesday for questioning, Gaskins said. The boy's mother, Morgan Lockett, also has been questioned.

Police on Tuesday expanded the search for the toddler's body, and they will continue searching today.

....

Relatives had organized a search for Saturday using Facebook, but it was unclear Tuesday night whether they would continue with those plans.

Morgan Lockett's brother, Chris Ward, said in an interview Tuesday that his family also had doubts about Brandon Lockett's story.

"I believe that he could have done something to him," Ward said Tuesday before police announced that they believe Aveion is dead.

Ward also said he found it strange that his sister hadn't been reaching out to the family since Aveion's disappearance.

"I believe he has my sister scared to say something."

Ward was too distraught to be interviewed Tuesday after he learned of Aveion's death.

Another very interesting comment/RUMOR in the comments section of the same article

you people prob did not hear that the lil boy was trying to be adopted by a loving family until the mother showed up at court. so even though he was born into sector 8 housing he almost made it to a very safe and nurturing neighborhood. the paramedic and his wife that were trying to adopt him are very respected people. guess channel 7 wanted to give a bad image to everyone even young toddlers in that part of Roanoke. way to go news 7.

Prayers for the innocent family members and that Aveion's body be found. Lord knows his spirit is safe.....

Strange case though.....BL wore his guilt on the tip of his tongue right from the start despite the physical attempt to hide it and ML's sorrowful grief conveyed her lack of hope. Almost seems like what occurred was an unexpected outcome of a common occurrence in that household. Wonder what the 4 year old's reaction was to being bound and what she has conveyed to police.

So sad!
My thoughts and prayers go out to Aveion's family!

just got this tweet from the city of Roanoke

Due to the ongoing investigation into the death of Aveion Lewis, the Geographic Policing meeting scheduled for today has been canceled.

Looks like LE is very focused on finding little Aveion.

Unless there is a Doctor's office in that little mini mall, the only thing I am seeing across the street, on the map, is the river.

  • #415
Was it ever said where the mother was out to? What concerns me is the two different handwritings on the note.
I am wondering if the mother took and placed Aveion's body somewhere herself.

This is very sad but I hate to say it these "cases" become predictable

how many of them involve a "stepfather" ?? This reminds me of poor little Marc in NY

I hope the mother is charged if she knew/allowed abuse of these kids...I hope the other kids are safe...

Oh....the "interview" video of the stepdad was very telling...he was hiding his eyes, had his hoodie over half his face

I wonder if DCF or whatever they call it there were involved and did their usual "nothing" routine?? This sweet faced little boy...so very sad...RIP little baby :(

Seems to me several years ago there was an urgent care center/clinic in that area. Can't remember which hospital it was affiliated with - Carilion or Lewis Gale, but believe it's been a long while since that clinic was open.

I'm having computer issues - and for the last 2 1/2 hours have been trying to keep my computer from freezing...and haven't been able to get this far...so I haven't been able to read all of the post.

Just caught a glimpse of a mention of Loudon Ave... Can someone bring me up to speed what this reference is about? Loudon Ave is a long way from King Charles.

Thanks

I should add... There may be a dr.'s office over near Jamestown Place in near Food Lion or across the street at the other strip mall near IGA. It's been so long since I've been over that way...but the one place there used to be a clinc type office hasn't been in use for a while.

Both of these "strip mall" type complexes sit on opposite sides of the road from each other and are less than a half mile from Jamestown Place - Food Lion being closer than the other.

Thanks for confirming.

When I looked at the map, Loudon Ave & 20th street did appear to me to be a good distance from King Charles....makes me wonder why they had the Forensics truck out there
