Can we please confirm the trash pick up date for Jamestown residents. MBLover posted this area's trash pick up is Tuesday, however according to the map Calliope posted the north south divider is the main railroad tracks.

The railroad tracks at google are marked by a gray line when zoomed out and then grey and white boxes when zoomed closer.
I've studied this map for the last 20 minutes and it looks to me like Aveions address is clearly
SOUTH of the tracks and south of the river.
East of 581/220 he tracks run only NORTH of the river

ETA: No where do I see any railroad tracks- even the extension lines on the google map running south of Aveions address giving that address a 'north of' the RR tracks for a Tuesday pick up.

I can't tell by looking at the maps; that's why I asked MBL for confirmation, since she knows more about their location than I do. In either case, it was Tuesday (if north of tracks) or Wednesday (if south), so like you say... that poor baby was in the trash for (at the very least) 30 hours or so before ML noticed he was gone. I'm thinking even longer than that, since BL was talking to the neighbor on Wednesday about those 'anonymous' phone calls. He could have been killed at any time after the 5th or 6th (the prior week's pickup), and that's assuming the isolated trash at the landfill was ONLY from the week of the alleged 'abduction'. I guess we won't know for sure unless the ME can pin down how long he'd been dead.

I hate to keep harping on this (sorry) but when was the last time that baby was seen? Lord knows these days my old brain seems more like a sieve than anything else, but I don't remember reading during all of this where anyone has mentioned the last time they'd seen the baby in the days or weeks before his disappearance. That's a bit odd to me; whenever I read or hear a news report about missing persons, it seems there is always a neighbor or acquaintance or someone that comes forward with that info. I don't remember hearing anything like that in this case.

No WAY ML didn't know about this. No way. This is the same baby she was crying had to be fed on a strict schedule, with special supplements. The same child she claimed was so fragile with his health issues... and she's not going to notice he was missing since (at least) the previous day? That he wasn't in his little bed when she went to sleep Wednesday night? Or there when she left for work on Thursday (if that is really where she was ... who knows with those two 🤬🤬🤬).

Which brings up another question... I'm hoping LE has looked into ML's whereabouts on the day he was reported missing (and for that matter the entire 2 weeks prior). Had she missed work? Any appointments? Any break in her routine?

BL made a big deal out of her arriving home from work to find him coming to on the floor after the 'attack'. Which leads me to believe she probably DID go to work that day, since that is a story which could be very easily confirmed. And how damned cold is that??? :furious:

Going about her business as if nothing had happened, providing her 🤬🤬🤬 husband an alibi, corroborating his lie to the police, and worse... leaving her other children with the monster who killed her baby and tossed him out in the garbage.

Dear God Almighty.

I'm trying to figure out what kind of packaging - because when you buy at Sam's (here in Roanoke) they do not put your purchases in any kind of bags or wrapping. It's up to you to bring your own or use various boxes that previously contained products.

I've been thinking on this. Application for membership has me stumped if not Sam's.

It's been a few years since I shopped there, but don't they have their own brand? Sam's choice, I think?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam's_Choice

I also remember being able to grab boxes at the front to carry stuff (they had pallets of boxes their inventory had been shipped in). Maybe the packaging was (or contained) wrappers or boxes from Sam's items.

  • #344
I was thinking more along the lines of a product that would only be available from Sam's....some kind of big plastic bag with a Sam's logo or product that's only available from that store....do they have their own brand of trash bags?

It's been a while since I've been to Sam's.

ETA: does Sam's give ya a copy of the membership application if ya fill it out at the store -- then get signed up? I can't remember that either today!! My 'crud' / flu still has my head too fuzzy.
A bit of googling...

Members Mark.

It seems to be a Sam's exclusive brand.

And yeah... they have garbage bags.

<respectfully snipped>

Lastly, even if anything was donated to him in the childrens names, if it were done in the childrens names- such as a bank account set up for the children or account set up to get the children what they need - legally Morgan could fight for control over it because she, as we know, STILL HAS legal guardianship over those kids, either she does or her mother does and I simply don't trust either Morgan or her mother to make the decision to put the childrens best interests first while being able to seperate that from Morgan. I would however donate to a funeral home who would have a fund set up to pay for a proper burial (casket, headstone, burial plot, funeral arrangements etc. for this child. )

JMO

ITA, Cubby!! I have thought the same thing -- noooo problem donating to a funeral home or directly to where ever other necessary expenses are incurred, but I'm not about to donate to any fund that ML or her mom could get their hands on it....no way!!

If the family does manage to pay for final respects to little Aveion, then I'll donate elsewhere in his honor.

Regarding uncle Chris. I really feel for the man; I am certain he loved Aveion and I'm sure he loves his sister. I understand why he'd find it hard to comprehend his own sister would harm her child and why he'd defend her and while I wasn't able to find anything he's said to that effect since the body was found, I remembered this and was able to find it googling the case:

Morgan Lockett's brother, Chris Ward, said in an interview Tuesday that his family also had doubts about Brandon Lockett's story.

"I believe that he could have done something to him," Ward said Tuesday before police announced that they believe Aveion is dead.

Ward also said he found it strange that his sister hadn't been reaching out to the family since Aveion's disappearance.

"I believe he has my sister scared to say something."

That tells me that deep down, even if he denies it, he too believes ML knows what happened, and knew from the beginning the story was a lie. Perhaps she didn't kill the baby, but she was complicit and certainly knew she was telling LE a lie that night. He obviously is in denial of sorts; she was already proven to have harmed Aveion by allowing him to nearly starve to death, and then recently not seeking treatment for his burns. I think he is just too close to see her as she really is.

JMO, of course.

It may be Wednesday. I've been looking at this map for the last 20 minutes comparing it to the city map. The map is very confusing as it looks like part of SE is in NE and the part of SE that this area is in is closer to Vinton than to the center of the City of Roanoke.

Would be nice if they had included/highlighted a few more details on the trash map - like the Roanoke River and Rt. 460 (north/south) & Rt. 24 (east/west)

ETA: Vinton is East (Roanoke) county

I'm just sick that ML will be able to attend the memorial for this sweet baby. I hope God reaches out and smacks her upside the head while she is busy faking her sorrow for this little one.

I wonder if they really did tie the 4 year old up with duct tape while they were concocting this BS abduction story?

I am so disappointed that LE is not being a little more proactive in regards to ML. Anyone who has followed this story will know that ML knew what was going on and was part of the whole mess. I'm hoping they throw tomatoes at her :(

All I can think about is little Robert Manwell's momster going to his services and talking about how he went potty on the beach, knowing full well what she and 🤬🤬🤬 boyfriend did to him. Uggghhhhhh - it literally makes me ill.

Those 🤬🤬🤬 looked into the camera and begged for the kidnappers to "keep him warm", all the while knowing he had been thrown out in the cold. :furious:

About the 4 year old, I remember an interview where he said she was tied with "string" and had a gag in her mouth. IF he actually did this to assure the child would corroborate his lie, I pray they get him for kidnapping, too. But I don't recall those items being on either of the search warrants posted (not sure, I'd have go look for them again). God I hope they were; even though the police were convinced he was lying, they could use that to convict him of kidnapping, and a gag should have the child's DNA on it.

Which brings up another thought... they had 5 days to dispose of / destroy evidence while living in that house from the time of the alleged abduction to when BL was arrested. Not only that, but reporters and others came and went inside too, which could only have contaminated the scene. And does anyone know if ML and the other kids were allowed to stay at any point after the arrest? Or worse yet, allowed to take anything from the house? It would seem they'd have to leave with just the clothes on their backs. I hope...

Thinking further on whether they attempted to destroy or discard any evidence, does anyone recall if the police reported looking for (and finding) anything in the landfill besides his body?

I really pray that the police are keeping all this information private, as opposed to not having covered all these bases.

I had to go look at a calendar... he was arrested on the 19th. The 18th was a holiday, and that week the trash pickup was delayed a day. So their trash wouldn't have gone out until Wednesday or Thursday. Did the police say anything about taking items from the dumpsters thrown out in the week after he was reported missing? I don't recall anything about that, either. (and searchers were sifting through all that stuff too :( )

  • #352
Trash was from the week before. Aveion went 'missing' on the 14th. It wasn't until the next week that BL was held. Trash was picked up on either 12th or 13th.

Thanks. I wasn't too clear. I was wondering if the police isolated and searched through dumpsters (at the apartments and the vicinity) for garbage that was thrown out between the pickup on the 12th/13th and when BL was arrested, because at the time he was arrested (19th) the trash for Jamestown had not been collected. That so they could find anything BL attempted to destroy/discard between the time of the "abduction" and his arrest.

http://www.wdbj7.com/Global/story.asp?S=11879411

On January 16, 2010, investigators identified trash from Roanoke in the Smith Gap Landfill operated by the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority. This trash was isolated and contained within the landfill to prevent further contamination from other trash. With the assistance of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who provided personnel with expertise in landfill searches, and Smith Gap landfill machine operators, teams began searching the landfill January 23, 2010.

ETA: Didn't find anything after that initial separation of trash.

I was under the impression no one was aware of the burns from the heater until BL confessed the kidnapping story was a hoax and the burns were part of the confession.

I think that comment from Chris was just him verbalizing trying to sort out the facts that he had. We know from other threads that family who participate here at WS often do not get all the facts and details from LE regarding open investigations. I have no doubt the situation is the same with Chris, and LE hasn't given him all the facts they have.

We don't know if anyone in Morgans family had red flags after she regained custody of Aveion. I'm not trying to defend anyone, but the thought occured to me that perhaps if Morgan shut them out once she regained full custody she could have given them the excuse that she needed to do this on her own without help.... and most likly the family would have accepted that after seeing the efforts she made for the state. I don't know that she gave them any red flags or they missed any red flags. Remember Uncle Chris is a firefighter and was or is currently in the service. I don't think he would have deliberately protected his sister if he had reason to believe something this drastic could have happened. I just don't. I get that he is in 'shock' and will only be able to sort this out as details are made public and if he chooses to attend any trials (for BL and ML) for this case.

I stared at that map, while half asleep because I took something to sleep, for a good 45 minutes last night. The site which provided the trash map indicated specifically the map may not coordinate with postal addresses and to disregard postal address grids for the city when looking at the trash pick up map. (paraphrased)

The E/W running cut off point between north and south sides of town is the main rail road tracks, so I went back to the google map, zoomed in and found the main rail road tracks, where it looks like a lot meet together. I zoomed at/to ground/street level to confirm that and then followed the tracks east. While they split and veered off in different directions, NONE of the tracks, or branches where the tracks veered off were south of Aveions address. ( until much further east of Avieions house which would not matter because that area of the tracks is much further east than the east west cut off line on the map) Thus I concluded Aveions house is east and south in the grid. The location of Aveions house is in the very NW corner of the blue colored SE area of the map

hope that helps explain what I was seeing.

From one of the media articles, it was specified LE started seperating the trash on Saturday the 16th before ML was taken into custody and charged tuesday the 19th.

  • #358
Also, confirming Calliopes point, you are correct and no where has it been printed or rumored that I have seen when anyone outside the immediate family (ML/BL and kids) last saw Aveion. I speculate that has not come out or been published becase LE is still trying to build a case against Morgan.

Could be. Could mean in addition to the trash which was seperated on the 16th LE went back to the dumpsters with dogs to search, but that has not been reported that I know of anywhere....... credible source or rumored.
