Yep... cocaine, and she missed testing and treatment sessions. She can't be trusted.

Prosecutors claim Taylor tested positive for marijuana in July and for marijuana and cocaine in August. She was also supposed to submit to treatment for drug abuse, and court documents claim she missed two treatment sessions in August. Taylor also is accused of failing to get tested for drugs twice last month.

Prosecutors file motion to revoke Deja Taylor's bond, say she tested positive for marijuana, cocaine

ETA: And, has LE located the father?? Are they actively searching?

I'm not surprised.
It is predictable. It is not easy for an addict to go cold turkey.

I also wonder how much of a role this grandfather played in his descendants being the way they are.

(I've said that quite a few times, WRT the whole "grandparents raising grandchildren" thing. It doesn't go over well, even if the people I told this to aren't part of that demographic.)

If the mother learned her behavior from her father or grandfather the son being raised by him isn't going to help. I hope that is not the case.

Deja Taylor wasn't just smoking weed. She was also using cocaine.

I wonder how many of the 6 year old's issues could be due to drug use during pregnancy.
wow, just reread the document and I totally missed that on the 25th of August she tested positive for cocaine. Sheesh, she really is not taking any of this seriously at all and is clearly not the brightest bulb. She KNEW they would be testing her and STILL she did these drugs. Boggles the mind

It's time they arrest her.

She is in a court order day treatment program. We have many both private and thru Community Service Boards, staffed with MD, Psychiatrist, psychologist, social workers, and medical staff that will deliver medication for those addicted daily to their homes.

She failed to show up for several of her court ordered treatment program visits. She had help, she could have chosen an inpatient program, as well.

Moo She’s been given chance after chance even before the shooting. Not showing up on her first court appearance due to taking sleeping pills and it’s been down hill since.

Wondering how many times she didn’t show up to school on time or even show up to bring her son?

If AZ is allowed to sue the NNSB I’m sure much more serious information will be discovered.

In the (3 month old) interview linked below, the mother states she is willing to take responsibility for her son shooting Abigail Zwerner. When asked about possibly facing 6 years in prison, the mother says she doesn't believe that would be fair but will do "anything for her baby". BUT, apparently using drugs and participating in drug testing is too much to expect from this mother... soooo prison certainly sounds like a good place for her to spend some time. (imo).

According to Deja Taylor's attorney, this child only attended about 2 months of Kindergarten and about 2 months of pre-K. We still don't know why he was placed in first grade. We still don't know why the school thought he was "safe". We only know the school will continue to do some down and dirty fighting against Abigail Zwerner's lawsuit.

Should we be additionally concerned for this child being cared for by his grandfather as he believes there is a racial component involved in the case being "pumped up"? (JMO but I'm gonna be pumped up by any report of ANY child shooting his teacher)

Just for clarification purposes, but isn't the grandfather in the above video Deja's grandfather? Which makes him little boy 'JT''s Great-grandfather....am I right? That's what puzzles me. There is a whole generation missing from this boys life.....or are they just as incapable of providing care for him, as his mother?
It baffles me.

And, I agree...the finger pointing accusations do not help one bit.

Mommy doesn't follow rules. Daddy doesn't follow rules. Is there really any doubt why the child didn't follow the rules??

Quoting myself but I'd like to add... It's clear that school authorities didn't follow rules either.

RICHMOND, Va. — Prosecutors have asked a federal judge to revoke the bond for the mother of a Virginia boy who shot and wounded his first-grade teacher after she allegedly failed multiple drug tests while awaiting sentencing on two felony charges...

Taylor was released on bond pending sentencing on the condition that she refrain from unlawful drug use and possession. In a motion filed in U.S. District Court last week, prosecutors said Taylor tested positive for marijuana and cocaine use, failed to show up for two drug screenings and missed two scheduled drug treatment sessions...

Damn, she was given offers for help and still flaked on them. What about the father of the child is he being asked to attend any parenting classes, gun safety or rehab too?

Apparently, no one did and Abby almost paid with her life for it.

I'm curious if the boy's disorder isn't a genetic one passed on from one or both parents. I wonder if the boy was diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

And quite honestly, I hold the school authorities almost 100% responsible for what happened to AZ that day. They are educated in child development and trained to follow the rules to keep everyone in the school safe. They knew what the child was capable of and they failed. The mother is less educated, carrying all sorts of possible generational and cultural baggage, poor impulse control, poor parenting skills…leading to her failure to control her child. And now continuing to break the law. But it was not her job to keep that school safe. So I hope that, while she pays for her own errors, the responsibility for what happened lands where it mostly belongs…on the school.

I personally feel that this boys mother should not get the 'poor me pass'. Similar to, although not quite as deadly ..as the boy in Michigan facing life in prison for shooting and killing his classmates...His Parents are being held in court, and facing criminal charges for their horrific neglect in purchasing the gun, as well as not getting him the psycho/social help that he desperately needed. I will pass on giving Deja Taylor excuses. She failed that entire school, as well as Abby Z. And,she failed her own son....which she is continuing to do by failing to follow court orders.

No excuses!

MOO and Peace

He’s on the lamb for outstanding charges unrelated. Discussed earlier and he was given repeated chances. A few pages back they were both stopped in a neighboring city with the child in the front seat a gun, unrestrained child, eatables and let go!!! Yea NO charges!!!

Taylor told investigators after the shooting that her son had been diagnosed with “obstructive defiance disorder,” more commonly known as oppositional defiant disorder, a condition where someone lashes out against authority figures, and took medication for it, Jenkins said.

Watching her interview again...she says her son has ADHD. I believe he definitely has something more than ADHD. Mom believes she is a good mom. I imagine his routine after school was...get a Happy Meal, go home, eat snacks, watch tv, play video games...all while mom was sitting or lying around high. I even wonder if he had any evidence of drugs in his system. Would they automatically check students taken into DFCS custody for drugs if they were in the household with people who used drugs? I just believe Deja is totally strung out.
