I didn't want to follow another missing child...it's always heartbreaking. But here I am.

Too many red flags....
I wonder if specialized personnel have been able to interview the other kids.....if one or two are older. When was little Codi last seen, other than the dad. Anything unusual happen that night, day or days before.

I understand. I often step back, but then I stick my nose into the threads and get grabbed by another. These kids need acknowledgement, but none of us is responsible for being there for everyone of them.

I really am going to try to stay positive on this. Dad last saw him at 2am and reported at 9am which means he could have gone missing anytime in between. Wearing black doesn't stand out to me the flip flop thing does but my kids would wear sliders in winter ( running outside real quick, around the house etc) but otherwise you would have to dig right now to find flip flops in Jan. This happened basically Sun into Mon correct? I always think Sun night sports but 2am is pretty late unless there were people over/party etc. Again, I'm trying my best to stay positive. Codi is so stinking cute. Breaks my heart. IMO

Tell me about the door(s).
  1. Is there just one door to the apartment?
  2. Was it open or closed when Dad woke up?
  3. If it was closed, was it also locked?
  4. What kind of lock(s) does it have?
  5. Do 4-year-olds close and/or lock the door behind them when they go out?

Geez come back on to check kinda wishing he was found . This is becoming the norm lately I hate it children are our future not a disposable commodity. So many of these cases the parental figure is the abuser/predator instead of a stranger . But just going to hope until there’s non that this lil man is found jmoo

Great questions but I haven't seen the answers.
Maybe someone else has?
(good to see you here under such circumstances)

No mention of a Mom or have I missed it? Trying to rein in my cynical thoughts- but a last seen @ 2AM and Codi's age, makes me think we've got another senseless loss on our hands :(

Doesn't look like there are a lot of places for Codi to hide Google Maps

Police added that Codi’s mother is also cooperating with authorities and answering their questions.

Codi lives with his father, according to Talbot. Police have also spoken with his mother.

“She has spoken to us and given us the answers to the questions we’ve posed,” Talbot said.

I just don't see a little 4 year old going outside and away in the middle of the night, in the cold no less. Kids just don't wake up in the middle of the night unless they have a nightmare or want some water, and they go to the parent.

Then again, remember the tot who left through the front door of an apartment building, in a diaper, at night? It was on video. He was found frozen in a snow bank. I think it was in Canada.

Where was he sleeping? Alone in a bedroom or with siblings? Upstairs or downstairs?
If downstairs was the window, or door, tampered with from the outside?

Hi Pommy - Looks like an entrance door on the front and slider at the rear. Back yards don't looked fenced, but I'll look more. Two story, so bedrooms likely upstairs. Google Maps and Log in or sign up to view

I agree. He looks "wary" in both of them. But, some kids just don't smile all that much or aren't made to smile for pictures.

I agree that some kids just don't smile that much...particularly in photos.
One of my sons HATED having his picture taken. You would think we were torturing him. We have very few pictures of him between 6 and 10 years old. But at 4 years old, he was too young to care and we had lots of smiling photos. Thank goodness my son didn't go missing at 7 years old. People would have assumed that we were unloving parents.

Here's a point that hasn't been made clear.

The boy was LAST SEEN at 2 a.m., but I can't find a reference that the father last saw him then. Was it a sibling? A house guest? I can't find anything that says the father last saw him then.

My son is the same way. He's 21 now and still has issues when we want pictures. We have to be completely prepared prior to telling him we want a picture ( kid must think he's famous)LOL

Hi back and thank you. Wish we knew which floor plan they have. Seems like they might need a 3 bedroom? MOO

Floor Plans of Buckroe Pointe Apartment Townhomes in Hampton, VA
Floorplan in 2/3 bedroom look identical except W/D is downstairs in the 3bedroom.

The foot of the stairs is right at the front door. I suppose we should consider Codi could have opened it, depending on the type of lock. The place actually looks much nicer than some of the complexes we've seen in the past. The leasing office's social media page makes it seem like they are very engaged with renters.

When my middlest was that age, he would go outside all hours of the day or night, all weather, in whatever he happened to be wearing at the time. He usually left the door open so we'd hear him and go after him, but once he made it several houses down and a neighbor called us to come get him. I thought for sure we'd have the protective services people on us the next day...
