Investigators are at a crime scene in the Draper area of Pulaski right next to Interstate 81. Pulaski police and sheriff collecting evidence in the surrounding woods. Police are calling it an active crime scene; we'll have more information as soon as it's available.

18 months we have been trying unsuccessfully to have a baby, we would love a boy.

This takes my breath away and I can feel the sickness coming up from the pit of my stomach.
This child had the most beautiful face, I can never believe no matter how many times I read it that a parent could hurt their own child.
So so sad, disturbing, and evil.

Oh no...I don't even have words for this. Waiting for confirmation but that was the outcome I had been expecting sadly.

As for the "father" (I don't really want to use that word for Howard Cole)...a child abuse charge would have been horrible but child abuse AND murder...I hope they will be putting him on suicide watch IF he did it and will be charged.

Pulaski police discovered the body of an infant Thursday night in Pulaski County after a daylong search for a 5-month-old boy. The search began after a man was arrested in Pulaski on Thursday morning on a child abuse charge.

So daddy abused and killed his own child. How sickening.

On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Howard Samuel Cole, 31, on a charge of child abuse after police received information that an infant had been abused by his father on Sunday morning, authorities have said.

Speculation....this will be like other cases we've seen where the child was used as a pawn.

Most likely Mom is seeing someone else, Dad is pissed about it, decides Mom will be with him, and attempts using the child to get to Mom. When Mom doesn't...he harms the child to punish the Mom.

I will not understand it. Looking up Dad's criminal past...he shouldn't have been out on the streets to begin with!

I guess it's good that I can't comprehend how or why someone can kill a baby. I have five kids... lord knows, they've all pissed me off at one time or another. hurting them never entered my mind. I have a grande now, with another due in the next few weeks. I'd probably end up in jail if someone hurt those little loves.
sorry to ramble... I just look at this wee love, and want to snuggle him up and make him giggle. Elaina welcomed him to heaven.

Update from Ananda Rochita WSLS Pulaski County Sheriffs Dept. are back at the crime scene collecting any possible evidence and measurements around the area. The captain told us he can't say anymore about the investigation.

Pulaski Police Chief Gary Roche says the body of an infant was found in Draper, Virginia near Interstate 81 matching the description of the five-month-old infant authorities had been searching for.
