Try this on:

I was thinking that maybe the whole time Sam was in the house, he was "living the dream." After all the horrorcore, there he was, so he did exactly what he'd been inviting into his brain for the last few years. He posed with the bodies, and took photos and video. He did things with the bodies he had seen in cover art, and on the gang's myspaces. He may have called the police as just more hijinx. When Mark came, Sam was continuing the game. Then he ran off to the airport and was brazenly okay with himself and all of it, both on the way and there. And when they took him in, he smirked and said, "Jesus made me do it."

Pure socio. Just a younger, less polished one than we usually capture.

Sicktanick did say there was something that law enforcement asked him to keep quiet on.

If there were pictures, I think someone would know by now. What else could he have been asked to keep quiet on though?

No, I don't at all. That's weird. What ads? There's a banner ad up top, and then a sidebar down the right.... But this site loads as fast as any other for me.... Of course, I AM on a Mac..... Hee!

Hmm STRANGE. The other forums I post on are fast but this one is always so damn slow and it gets on my nerves I really dont know why that is.

Im gonna try that google chrome browser as suggested above and see if that helps any.

Pax this one is slow. It's OK if I stay in one thread but if I start shopping around to say...let the world know how udderly fabulous bag balm is (outed by the tapu) then it's very frustrating to go from page to page as each one takes forever to load. If I hit the button right now to post this it won't happen at a smartish pace.

Pax,I agree 100% with all of your posts pertaining to Sam....and by no means do I have any "expert" knowledge but this is all based on what we have seen so far....the video of Sam's mom in that very dark room smoking her bowl really did it for me back then.
The only comments that Sam's mom used to be overprotective of him came from....Sam's mom.The other things we know are from Sarah's live journal, where she paints a very disturbing picture of there home life.Sam was apparently cooped up in his room most of the time playing video games, the mom would yell if they even came out and bothered her. What also stuck in my mind is Sarah's journal entry when she made some soup for herself and the mom took it away from her and gave her some weed for it.Apparently the mom cheated on the dad frequently and then shortly before Sam went to Virginia just got up and left them and he took that very hard.I just don't see sociopath one bit and I also know a real life sociopath and it's hard to come to realize that these people can not be helped and will never feel any empathy no matter how hard you try to care about them.I also notice how quick people on these threads will label someone that killed someone as a sociopath or psychopath.I think I differ from most because I whole heartedly believe given the right cirumstances, the perfect storm we are ALL capable to snap....I 'm probably also the only one that does not think Casey A. is a sociopath,to me she is someone that was completely stunt to develop by her mother.Casey is a 12 year old girl to me that is always aching for acceptance and does not know herself or reality one bit.
I think people tend to see people that do not show their emotions on the outside as sociopaths and I think in both Sam's and Casey's case they appear so cold because of their own insecurities. Now that I base on my own personality because I know you will see me smile no matter how I feel inside because I don't want to appear weak....

oh and about your pc running slow Pax,I totally agree with Tapu ,I bought an old G4 Mac book last year for $300 and all those problems are history...Mac is the way to go !

Dange said" One thing we don't know in this case is how the forensics link Sam to the crimes. For example, was their blood on his clothes? His fingerprints or DNA on the murder weapons? One supposes that the forensics are solid, but strange things happen sometimes... " If the maul did not hit--you must aquit--Sorry -I couldn' resist> You guys are great!

Given the stench, if I was a betting man, I'd be betting he has at least one of the victim's DNA on his clothing or person. But who can say.

Sociopaths can have bad parents too. (Not taking sides just saying)

The identity of the person to whom he spoke (Synnister??) and the reported contents of that conversation?

Wait a ticky: has it been confirmed what Sam's demeanor was when he called whatshisname? I can't recall that we know for sure he was upset or freaked out.

I just can't wrap my head around a normal yet reclusive kid who "snaps" and starts wielding a fricking wood maulm, mutilating the bodies of three women.

THEN: what comes next is even more out of character for the poor little kiddo that Pax describes.
* calmly tells the cop that they are at the movies (when their bloody remains are right inside where he killed them)
* leaves phone messages for Mrs. Wells
* CALLS more cops to the house with 4 dead bodies therein
* Makes a few trips to Kroger and wherever
* It is rumored he bought some scented candles to hide the smell
* It is rumored he hung out with some college kids and smoked with them
* Calmly encounters the police two more times while reeking of death
* Has casual conversations with cab driver about Emma as if she were still alive
* Has a meal at Huddle House
* Sleeps at the airport
* Doesn't seem too surprised to be arrested
* Smirks and smiles when the cameras catch him being led into custody
* Jokes that "Jesus told me to do it" for the camera

All of this does not add up to a regular soul who acted under the heat of passion and was unable to control his actions for a very short period of provocation...remember - he had plenty of cooling off time prior to killing Mark and all he had to do was LEAVE the house to avoid Mark, not kill him.

This doesn't pass the smell test for a poor, neglected, socially underdeveloped "kid". I think the horrocore also ate away at any conscience he may have had.

This list superseded my previous one. We should also try and construct a similar one for the opposing "crime of passion" theory.

Well, not meaning to be argumentative btw, I do know sociopath behavior when I see it. I dated one for 5 (very draining) years. Granted, I haven't met Sam in person, so I can't honestly say that I 'know' him, just the things he says. However, I have heard about (not by him) some of the very ****ed up things a certain ex of his did to him, so I do believe him without a doubt when he says he's been hurt in the past.

A lot of people have a crazy ex, a failed relationship, or someone in their past that **** on them though Mary. And they don't go around smashing people's heads in with a wood maul. For some reason, Sam did.

Not trying to be argumentative either, but those appear to be the facts unless you are going to tell me that he didn't do it.

*McCroskey's older sister, Sarah, said her brother had been bullied when he was younger and spent much of his time in his room on the computer. She said he never fought back and wouldn't do anything unless provoked.

Sarah McCroskey said her brother left to go on a trip Sept. 6. and she heard that he got into an argument with his girlfriend at the music festival. Then, he left the family a cryptic phone message Thursday, saying ''I love you guys.'' She said that was uncharacteristic of her brother because they were not a "'Leave It To Beaver' kind of family."http://www.journal-news.net/page/content.detail/id/525452.html?showlayout=0

McCroskey's sister, Sarah, says their dad, a rock guitarist, raised her and her brother on a steady diet of heavy metal bands like Insane Clown Posse, Metallica and Primus. A 5-foot-9, 200-pound kid who took bullying without fighting back, "Sammy" spent most of his time in his room, composing music on his computer, designing Web pages or playing video games such as Halo and World of Warcraft, his sister says.

McCroskey had been into horrorcore since 1999, but decided several months ago that he wanted to "contribute to the genre."

Thus, he wrote on MySpace, was born his horrorcore alter ego: Syko Sam.

Sarah McCroskey says her brother met Emma about a year ago, at a concert near San Diego. They were on the phone so much after that, Sarah had to buy herself a cell phone.

She says her brother was devastated when his father asked their mother to move out about five months ago. But he was excited for a planned trip to Virginia to see Emma. Clearly, Emma was eager, too.

The "next time you check your myspace, YOULL BE AT MY HOUSE!" she posted Sept. 7, the day afterhe left California. "i love you sooo SO much baby; forever and for always."http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/horrorcore-rap-drew-together-143611.html

But in an e-mail yesterday, Sarah McCroskey described Richard Samuel Alden McCroskey III, who rapped about killing people and disposing of their remains, as a boyish 20-year-old man who avoided trouble, walked away from fights and would not have hurt anyone. Police caught him Saturday at Richmond International Airport. A Prince Edward County judge appointed him an attorney yesterday at an initial hearing.
“He’s sweet, he’s talented, he’s like the best brother anyone can ask for,“ she said in a later phone interview. She also apologized to the victims’ families.http://www2.godanriver.com/gdr/news...mville_suspect_says_she_failed_brother/14053/

McCroskey, 21, and her brother — whom the family calls Sammy — were raised in Hayward before moving to Castro Valley about six years ago.

Her parents split up five months ago.

The household is more like a place filled with roommates instead of family, she said.

"We weren't a 'Leave it to Beaver'-type of family," she said. "We each had our own space and did our own thing."

In high school, McCroskey and her brother were teased and picked on at school, mainly because of their weight and "ginger" hair. "It broke our confidence and we grew up with a lot of insecurities," she said. "I always fought back, but Sammy was way too passive. He didn't say anything."

The siblings each dropped out of high school.

He dropped out of Tennyson High in Hayward, then went to Hayward High and dropped out againhttp://www.crimenews2000.com/print.php?news.1607

As pointed out above, I've noticed on several different threads that people who are accused of killing are quickly labeled sociopaths. At times I think that I have arrived at a solid understanding of what that means only to loose my grasp on it later. One thing I heard on a video by one of the guys in the horrorcore genre is that the culture is composed of peeps who were relentlessly picked on by others and feel as if they never fit in with mainstream life. Why they focus on such darkness I don't understand but they do. He says that they would not really do the things they rapp about. They just like flipping the bird at people (my words). He seems angry at Sam for bringing negative attention to their cause. :waitasec: He seems more upset about that than the murders but he may not have meant it to come across that way.

Something crossed my mind when I was watching that video. What if SM is schizophrenic. It usually does not show up until a person is in mid/late teens/early twenties. If you don't have someone to go to when symptoms start and have been filling your mind with horror images - the combination could put someone over the edge and they may not be able to separate fantasy from reality. Jesus told him do it according to the voice in his head.

The human condition is not only normal or sociopath. There are many more illnesses that affect people. I feel sadness for a child whose mom would trade a bowl of weed for a bowl of soup with her child. That speaks volumes to me - something I can't put into words. A mother feeds her child no matter what. No wonder some kids grow up feeling like they are worthless.

My rambling opinion may have no merit whatsoever but just thought I'd post it here as something else to consider. It seems like SM did this of his own accord. What's done is done. Another sad, sad story.
