"One thing I heard on a video by one of the guys in the horrorcore genre is that the culture is composed of peeps who were relentlessly picked on by others and feel as if they never fit in with mainstream life. Why they focus on such darkness I don't understand but they do. He says that they would not really do the things they rapp about. They just like flipping the bird at people (my words). He seems angry at Sam for bringing negative attention to their cause. He seems more upset about that than the murders but he may not have meant it to come across that way."
woe, those were exactly my feelings when I started to post on this thread in the first place....because of stuff that happened to me when I was a young teenager I totally turned to death metal back then and that was the most supportive community I could think of and it was a very positive experience to me,it gave me strength to deal with stuff and to this day i find a lot of comfort in "darkness'...

have you tried rebooting your pc in safe mode and then you can restore it to its original settings?
The Dell laptop has a restore partition built in to it, it formats the HD and restores it to where it was the day I bought it, I am doing that now but I lose everything on the HD but thats ok nothing of importance on there, very strange though the keyboards just wont type anything and when you hit any random key it brings up various control panel windows and stuff like that, has to be a virus which I dont understand because I run a tight ship here and i have everything locked down, I am very surpirsed anything could get through unless blouangel and tapu are behind this LOL

Anyway the laptop is restoring now so I should be up and running in about 30 minutes, WAIT FOR ME!

PAXIMUS, I looked to see if DM was still on WS but his name is not listed so he must have signed off. I wish I could help you. I know that what claudicici instructs would be something to try - go back to a previous settings point. I hope that works for you. Good luck. :banghead:

Comfort in darkness or just not afraid of darkness? I'm trying to understand, I really am. For instance, if I feel depressed, it is difficult to bring myself to get involved in activities. Let's say I manage to force myself to go out, get a change of scene - either shopping or just a drive or sit on the porch with my neighbor. These things will almost always make me feel better. What I'm trying to grasp is how do "dark" things aid in making one feel better? Do you even understand it yourself? One thing I know, is that when you are hurting, it can be too much to participate in a happy event, paste on a smile and pretend. It produces that lonely feeling in a crowded room which is one of the worst feelings imo. I'd rather be alone. The contrast of how you're feeling with the happy event is too much. That I get but why darkness?

...but seriously woe....thank you for asking because i've been asking myself that a lot lately,I've been asking myself during the time I posted on this thread but it really hit when i read about the bob dude....I think it goes way back....the main thing my mom always pointed out about me that I was born the night Sharon Tate and her unborn kid was born by the Manson kids....my sister was born when I was 4 and she was very sick, she had to stay in the hospital until she was 4 months old and I was not allowed to go see her, when she finally came home one night she was choking and my mom and dad rushed her to the hospital without thinking about me and left the door to our apt. open...that is my first conscious memory....the only thing that made me stand out and not be forgotten I think in my mind was the Manson connection, believe me,my mom mentioned it to everyone she talked to,I did not fully understand but it was positive to me....when I was older I went to the library and read everything about that case and it was the first one I was obsessed with,I always imagined my soul was Sharon Tate's unborn child and I had no problem looking at the crime scene pics as a 10 year old.
Some dark stuff happened especially during that time and then when I was a young teenager but I don't feel comfortable getting into it ,anyways I can truly say that I was always obsessed with some kind of case be it Manson,Kennedy,Black Dahlia and I loved metal and death metal in particular and pax is right I loved to bang my head because it definitely gives you that light headed feeling, that feeling of bliss (I'm paying for it now cos the disks in my neck are slipped),anyways being around "happy" people makes me absolutely nauseated ,being around church or religion has the same effect on me....don't know if i'm making sense but that's the best i can explain it,yet I do always smile,always...and I love to be alone,I am seldom depressed anymore and I love my life ...oh and I love my sister, she has always been the most important person to me aside from my daughter...

I've noticed that a few people's "lines" do not mention the tapu. Don't think I'm not keeping tabs on this.

I don't know how to change it!

Fascinating. A parent truly does underestimate what power their words have on their children. Whether they mean to or not a parent can mess with a kid's head. Some children are like sponges and one wrong word can make a lasting impression (good or bad I suppose). One time my dad said to me "you're just average" because he did not want me to accept an invitation to have my picture taken in this wedding dress book. He was a commercial artist and saw how 'models' were degraded behind their backs. Instead of explaining that and how much he valued me, he said "you're just average". I took to heart that my dad didn't think I was good enough to follow through with the offer to be photographed for the wedding dress book. Since I was only seventeen, his comment stabbed me and burned into me. He was always a loyal and generous dad - can't complain at all but when he uttered those four words I must have believed him because I struggled after that with my identity. As I've aged I've worked it out but I did talk to him about it once and he doesn't even remember saying it. When I told him the background of his comment he said "I didn't want you entering into that environment." I said, "Dad that was dumb but I forgive you." Now I wonder how many dumb things I've said to mess up my child.

So between our two stories, imagine what it must be like for a kid who is repeatedly ignored or abused or made to feel like crap. It's amazing to me that most people function as well as they do ya know?

Oh I'm glad to hear that your sister thrived and that you two are close. I've always wished I had a sister but no such luck.

..that's exactly how I feel..I feel it's more incredible that most people do not go insane ....I think this was one of Casey Anthony's photobucket icons "parents underestimate the power they have to mortify their kids" or something like that......

DM or anyone else I NEED YOUR HELP. Within the last hour something has happened to my computers at home, we have 2 and suddenly the keyboards will not type anything and when I hit any particular key on the KB at random all sorts of strange windows like control panel etc come up...I am at the neighbors house next door typing this I can read but I cant type from my house.

ANY IDEA WHAT THIS IS AND IS IT A VIRUS PLEASE RESPOND.

I just recently within the last couple of months have have 2 bad viruses. One turned my firewall off and the other gave me continuous pop up ads.
There are a few things you can do. The first thing you can try are multiple virus programs. If one doesn't work try another. That's what I did. You can get a lot of free mal-ware programs on the net. Usually with those kinds of problems it's very likey that you have a mal-ware gen now stored somewhere on your computer. I used Spybot search and destroy for the first one and it removed the virus when nothing else would touch it. The second one I had was a bit harder to get rid of. I was almost at the point of just doing a complete reinstall. Then on the very same day my Avast virus protection caught it and got rid of it. The only thing is then I had to do a registry clean because my computer was recognizing some deleted items as part of the windows system. But after all of that it is now back to normal. Thank God!
The other thing you can do is just reformat your computer and all I mean is clean it off and reinstall your windows operating system. You lose stuff but you save your computer.
If you still need help let me know!
Edited to add: One of the viruses actually dis enabled my restore point therefore my computer wouldn't even allow me to do a system restore.

Pax this one is slow. It's OK if I stay in one thread but if I start shopping around to say...let the world know how udderly fabulous bag balm is (outed by the tapu) then it's very frustrating to go from page to page as each one takes forever to load. If I hit the button right now to post this it won't happen at a smartish pace.

Tapustry! <spew coffee> Okay, that time I threw my head back and LOLd!!

Maybe you've redeemed yourself from posting seriously about bag balm, but I don't know.... That was kind of a biggie......

I don't know how to change it!

Go up above here to the blue bar and hit "user cp"

Then the first option on the left is "edit details"

A little ways down you'll see where it tells you that right now the line says "Registed User".... which is code for something, but the tapu has not figured it out.

Put your line there and it changes it! Presto-like!

xoxo, tapu

ok... don't tell anyone, but I have Dusty Springfield singing "Son of a Preacher Man" as my ringtone. :o

Claudi.... intense stuff you're posting here. Woe.be too. The whole parenting thing. I think about this a LOT with my son. I try to do "mindful parenting." So far, so good, I mean I haven't let things hit that critical moment when my own stuff overrides what should be said to the kid. I have to say, though, that I got awfully close to it with my foster daughter, and may have crossed that boundary even. Whew. It truly is amazing that everyone isn't just completely whacked. (Hey, wait, I'm whacked.... :o Oh well.)

CC--the Manson family murders caught my attention as a child and I was fascinated with them for decades. I have many first run books, magazines, and video about it all. I consider it the defining news event of my childhood. Weird, but hey, that's just where the cosmos was at the time. For those older than us, it may have been the Clutter murders. (I kind of straddle those two, I think. In Cold Blood was one of only 4 books my parents had in the house! Talk about influencing children....)

The identity of the person to whom he spoke (Synnister??) and the reported contents of that conversation?

I get that what was said might be kept secret, but why the identity of the person?

I wonder how much detail was in that conversation. I think the details of that conversation may end up answering a lot of questions, particularly about Sam's frame of mind at the time.

Sounds like you have a virus Pax, and that might also explain the slow page loading you were experiencing. Safest bet is to reinstall the OS and wipe your drives. I use Avast and Spybot Search and Destroy and keep high security settings. This seems to work for the most part, but you should always back up important files just in case you need to wipe a computer that gets infected. I prefer Google Chrome these days because it is faster and more secure. Be aware that using Chrome does however make you more trackable on the net, as there are only about 1/20 of web users using Chrome today.

You should also beware of those windows that pop up and offer you anti-spyware and anti-virus software. These are actually going to launch malware and infect your machine. Only use known anti-virus products such as McAfee, Norton, or Avast. I also use Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy. The latest viruses and malware can actually detect when you try to install these products and can block them they also can be transmitted by thumb drives and similar devices. Bad!

If this happens you have no choice but to wipe and reinstall the OS. Be warned you may need to reinstall drivers in order to access the Internet after you do this. Your best bet is to use an uninfected machine to download drivers to a thumb drive and then install from this drive after the wipe and reinstall of the OS.

Make sure you are using anti-malware software that protects against rootkits. A rootkit is a very serious form of malware that installs below the OS level and can control and monitor your machine undetected by normal OS-based anti-virus software. Bad juju and increasingly common.

Finally be aware that hackers install malware on unsuspecting sites, so even if you don't visit questionable sites you can still be infected.

Sorry I was off last night, been fighting a cold all week. My left ear is totally plugged up this AM. Very annoying!

ETA: Until you are certain that your system is clean do not under any circumstances use it for financial transactions or to access important accounts. The latest viruses and malware capture and transmit your passwords to criminals and the software is structured to know when you enter a password or visit specific types of sites such as Yahoo Mail, Facebook, banking sites, etc.
