DANVILLE, Va. - State police say that 51-year-old Carl Kennedy, the man believed to have abducted 7-month-old Emma Grace Kennedy, was possibly sighted in the area of Seven Springs, North Carolina at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The FBI believes Kennedy to be armed and dangerous.

Police believe he may be heading to Oak Island, North Carolina.

The 2007 Gold Suzuki four-door Forenza Kennedy is driving may have North Carolina plates with EKZ-5093 on them.

NEW Information on #Virginia AMBER Alert for Missing Danville Infant:
City of Danville Police Department confirming the gold 2007 Suzuki Forenza may have one of the following North Carolina license plates on it: EKZ 5093 or FAA 1873.

Other vehicles Carl Ray Kennedy has access to: Burgundy Toyota Camry (no tag number available), blue Jeep Cherokee and a Dodge truck. It is likely Kennedy is using the NC FAA-1873 tags on one or more of these vehicles.

The last known location for Kennedy was in Randolph County, NC.

Unless he holed up somewhere, he would already be in Oak Island. There’s not much there except beach and local shops. Someone would have to notice a man who is rough around the edges with a baby. She will need diapers and formula etc.

Possible sighting. Seven Springs is very rural. If this was him, he’s skirting around the major highways.

There are a lot of “rough around the edges people” in the general vicinity, Southport especially, but Oak Island itself is quite a small community tourist wise compared to a lot of the other Outer Banks towns. I fear though that if he was already harassing Emma’s mother and other family members online that he would be making himself aware about what is being said online in regard to the case. He could have gone another way entirely and been through VA and well into or even through WV by the time the Amber Alert went out.

Leave precious Emma at a firestation, and GO! Just please don't harm her. She's a baby. She didn't do anything to be harmed over. She didn't ask to be born. She is NOT who your are mad at. So let her go! Leave at a family's door then call them and tell them she is outside. Just please put her somewhere safe, and then exit to wherever you need to go. Emma is darling and deserves to grow up. Please do the right thing!

I feel like I just got rid of this kind of anxiety when Lily was found in Wa..but that didn't last long obviously. Now I'm not going to be free of it until Emma is found.

Local news is reporting he was sighted in Seven Springs...store clerk could not verify if the baby was with him. This area is very local to me. He could take backroads to Oak Island versus I40 but either way he would surely be there by now if that’s where he is going.

As an aside, Seven Springs and the surrounding area creeps me out. This part of the state is very rural and generally friendly but the few experiences I’ve had there were not good. In fact in 2 instances I felt I was in danger. Years ago my aunt and I got caught in a hail storm. We pulled under the shelter of what appeared to be an abandoned country store to keep the car from getting damaged. No other cars were there, windows of the building had been painted over, no signs of life. we weren’t there a solid minute before men started coming out of the building and just stood and stared us down. We took off. I looked back and there must have been 25 men standing outside the building at that point.

Second time was just a year ago. I was taking my ex to look at a rehab facility. We got lost of course but did not dare to stop and ask for directions. The few people we did see just stared as if they dared us to make a wrong move. And the “facility” was more like a sweatshop. It was incredibly hot and humid that day so I went to the car, as there was no ac anywhere at this place (very odd considering how hot our summers are). The ex whispered to me to park the car so I couldn’t get blocked in, lock the doors and leave if anyone approached the car. We made it out in one piece but we both had the impression something illegal was going on for multiple reasons. And add to that we saw not one woman or child during either of these escapades. Very, very strange place.

I say all that to say this. While this area is not a welcoming place, I feel like this man, with his history would fit right in. Hope that sweet little nugget is found safe.

I think I remember them saying the new software doesn't work with it. It works great in a regular browser now though.
