I agree that it was likely to have been a crime of opportunity rather than premeditated. I would guess he didn't have any very specific plan in mind when he first spotted her. Maybe he hits on all the girls who are in her situation but doesn't get lucky very often, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. I would bet he was actually surprised when he got her in his car.

It's a long read,but its well worth it. I can't help but wonder if this is a similar circumstance.
