Just thinking about how long it took for Hannah to be reported missing (39 hours, from what I read), it made me wonder if Hannah lived alone in an apartment or if she had roommates.

Maybe the friends she was hanging out with ran out of whatever drug they were partying with and someone had a hookup in the mall area and told her about it. She was going to meet him and he was suppose to be at a certain spot. He wasn't there so she walked around looking for a person that fit he description they gave her. Maybe the dread guy was the drug hookup through the girls who highfived him and to let him know the girl that was sent was there and was cool to sell to.

When he approached her, he let her know he had what she needed but they needed to go to his place. They got beers took the car to his place to get the stuff. She thought he was fine because someone from the party sent her there so she went.

Hi again. Still trying to catch up on the case. Can someone sort out the guys for me please?

The guy that followed her that police found and said he was only trying to help her because she seemed distressed?
The guy with the goatee and beer belly? Is that the same guy?
The guy dressed all in white seen circling back around to follow her on one of the videos? Different guy or the same as 1 or 2?

I'm so CONFUSED.

Edited to add: and which one is Dreads?:gaah:

She had two roommates, but it was a three bedroom apartment --- she had her own room.

Great map! I am a visual learner. :) So she walked south until 1 am and then backtracked up the same road?
I was thinking about why she was holding her back. Do we know what shoes she had on? Could she have been wearing heels? Those would certainly make my back hurt after walking all that way. And one other thing. The text message. How does LE know where she was at 1:20 am at the time of the text? Pings wouldn't narrow it down that close would it? Or was there a camera there at the time? Wondering if someone else sent the text to throw everyone off the trail by giving a location a half mile away. You know what would be great is if we had the capability to take the map add the video clips at each location and then add the location that was on the text.

She didn't backtrack. This is wrong. She entered the mall from the other end.

Thanks!!! :daisy:

What about underground clubs, raves, that sort I'd thing???

Trying to figure out what she was up to and where she was headed.

That I wouldn't know. I was boring and didn't really party aside from having a few drinks in my apt on the weekends, lol. I know, I know I'm lame.

I posted in like the 2nd thread that I had a male friend who would "run off" when drunk. Sometimes not come home for hours or until the next day, one time came back with a broken leg. So the amount of time she was not reported could be because her roommates are used to her running off when drinking? (This is just a theory! We know she was drinking and we know she ran off. Whether that was a habitual reaction to drinking, I'm just conjecturing)

Seems that the guy who followed her really was a good samaritan (#1). He played phone tag with investigators for a couple days as they were trying to follow up on all the tips that were called in, and went in to the police station to report on the incident in person, apparently coincidentally with the time the video was first released. The guy he described (#2), who was bald-headed with a goatee and a pot belly was apparently not bald, and was the same as number 3. Number 3, police now say, is the POI, the one whose car was seized and apartment searched this morning.

I agree. Or else maybe he really did just pick her up and later dropped her off somewhere. Or maybe there was no plan to harm her, just trying for sex, and something went wrong. It would be pretty stupid to snag a girl on camera from a place where he hangs out. Jmo
In trying to reason it out, I came up with three possibilities:

1. He is that stupid.
2. His intent was comparatively benign (sex, etc.)
3. He was the middle man for the real predator and figured he wouldn't get busted because he wouldn't be the actual responsible party.

I'm a fan of Occam's Razor (1 or 2), but the third possibility keeps bugging me. Please God, light the way home for Hannah.

Many people have mentioned the dreads guy high fiving the two women and somehow they were signaling him that the Target (hannah) was coming. I don't see how they would possibly know since they were walking in front of Hannah not facing her direction and were pretty far ahead of Hannah on the opposite side of the mall with a restaurant between them and walking at a much slower pace. I just don't see them being involved at all. Also what people see as a high five I see as dread guy stopped and looking at his phone like receiving or reading a text before he starts moving.

It's possible he gave her a lift back to her neighborhood and dropped her off. In that case, she was in his car and left behind evidence that gave police enough to get a search warrant of the apartment. But, maybe, just maybe BG didn't commit a crime other than supply alcohol to a minor. Perhaps something happened to Hannah after he dropped her off. We do know that other assaults occurred in her neighborhood that evening, that LE have so far said are unrelated. Perhaps they are unrelated, but the student neighborhood in the middle of the night might not be any safer than the sketchy neighborhoods.

Honestly, I don't know what to think.

Longo stated in the presser (at 4:50 in http://youtu.be/2zEwZzxbZyA) 'we know that he lived in the house that we searched this morning. We know that many of you were there. My suspicion is that others know his name."

Has it been discussed as to his comment "many of you were there"? http://youtu.be/2zEwZzxbZyA

I hope I am tagging the video link correctly, long time lurker with not much experience posting.

He says several things that sound like he might be giving cryptic hints about where the investigation is going, but I think the "many of you were there" means reporters who were covering the search.

1. WM, WG, white guy -- observed and followed because he thought she needed help. Seems to be in the clear.

2. BM, BG, black guy with goatee and beer belly -- Not sure why that description was released yesterday. Doesn't match the current POI at all.

3. Dreads, black man with dreadlocks -- He is the POI. His vehicle and residence were searched today. LE has not released his name.

Watch the video here. http://www.nbc29.com/category/17556...rt=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=10602905

See WG in the background. When Hannah passes, he follows her.

Dreads passes right in front of the camera and circles around to follow in the same direction as Hannah and WG.

I think she was at least a little familiar with him. Maybe a friend of a friend? I could be completely wrong, but that's just the feeling I have.

Just jumping off your post...

is there any way he could have been connected to the university?

sports?

Alum?

worked there in some capacity?

Bookstore?

Could she have seen him in some way at college prior?

Just some thoughts....

There are a lot of things we don't know, including the texts Hannah got from her friends, but we know she said she was going home, and she texted that she was lost.

I've been trying to make sense of the things we do know, and the video of Hannah walking all over seeming to be on a quest.

I have a theory that might fit what we know so far.

Hannah was dabbling in recreational drugs, but her friends did not know. Friendly Neighborhood Dreadlocks guy is a dealer. Hannah knows this, and may have bought from him in the past, so while she doesn't really know him, she kind of knows him.

Hannah leaves the party telling friends she's going home, but secretly wants to visit Friendly Neighborhood Druglocks guy first. She's a bit drunk, but knows his usual hang out spots. Thats's why she walks all over, she's looking for him. Maybe he hangs out at McGrady's Pub so she stops there. She looks on the patio but he's not there. She tries to go inside but is turned away because she's underage. She keeps on her quest, sobering up along the way. She realizes it's getting late and she has to get home so she appears a little frantic.

She heads to the mall, another hang out of Friendly Neighborhood Druglocks guy and begins to walk from one end to the other moving fast. Eventually she meets up with him, somewhere off camera. They enter Tempo, he has a drink, maybe she uses the bathroom. She tells him what she wants, and that she's been looking all over for him and has to get home, her friends are asking where she is. He tells her he doesn't keep it on him, so he can't get busted, but he has it in his car if she wants to walk over there with him. She thinks that sounds logical, so she goes with him. They walk to the car fast, because she's in a rush to get home. Maybe she tells him she told her friends she was lost to buy herself some time and an excuse as to where she was. Or maybe he suggests that she tell her friends that to use as an excuse for the time she was gone.

They get to the car and he seizes upon an opportunity. She has money, a phone and jewelry, and is young and attractive. Her friends think she's lost and might not expect her home soon. Maybe he cold 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 her and puts her in the car and drives away. What happened after that I don't even want to think about.

I'm just speculating, trying to connect the dots. Maybe FND guy told her he was all out but had more at his house, if she wants he can take her there and then drive her home since she's in a hurry, so she got in the car with him.

I don't know, obviously, but it seems more believable than Hannah aimlessly wandering around (at a fast pace) and then leaving the mall with a complete stranger who has his arm on her waist or shoulder.

I would find this believable, except that she didn't carry a purse. If I were going to buy drugs, I would not want to be stuffing them in my bra or elsewhere. There was nowhere for her to put the drugs, and she had no cash on her, as far as we know.

No one else has had a random silly stranger come up and high five you? Or you do that weird "dance" where you each try to go around each other and he says "thanks for the dance?". I think it's a random stranger encounter from two innocent women and a man who, seconds later, saw a good opportunity to take advantage of someone.

Question: In which video do you guys see someone give Dreads a high five? Is it in this one?

http://www.nbc29.com/category/17556...rt=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=10602905
Yes, although in that video the approach of the two women is almost totally cut, so you have to look fast: left side of the screen, nearest woman raises her hand. 'Dreads' then enters the frame, you can see his right hand still held up, and then he lowers it. This all happens in the first 4 seconds of that particular video.
