Can we say for certain right now though that the trial and the public's vitriol hasn't set the movement back? Regardless of whether Amber deserved the backlash or not.
I think much of the backlash came about because of the way most of the mainstream press was covering the trial. There were a lot of misleading headlines and it was very frustrating to watch the actual testimonies and exhibits, see where Amber was caught in obvious lies---and then CNN/WaPO/MSNBC would write a headline making it AS IF Amber proved the abuse.

I think the tsunami of vitriol came about because of the public's frustration with the total lack of transparency in msm.

If the public didn't speak out, by tweeting or Tik Tok, or IG, etc, the word would not have been received that the public did not believe Amber's stories. Everyone would have just accepted msm headlines claiming that Amber deserved justice for the brutal rapes and beatings by Johnny Depp.

I think the movement has been moved forward in a positive way by this trial. Let's agree that EVERYONE should be listened to and allowed to tell their story. But belief comes with some time and objectivity. JMO

If AH's defense was paid for by her ins co, did AH select her attys or did the ins co assign them?
I've seen it said that Elon introduced her to this law firm. I don't know if they ever represented him or not though.

This video is great, thank you for posting. L&C network should be commended. And I had no idea Adam Waldman gave nice shout out to the youtube lawyers, etc and love that he slammed MSM. I never expected this but honestly, the MSM coverage of this trial has been a joke and it has made it official for me. I am done with MSM. I hope the groundswell of youtube reporting takes over.
It is interesting because I had been telling my daughter and her boyfriend, for several years, that msm is very untrustworthy. They tended to look at online headlines from msnbc and cnn, and take them at their word.

My daughter 1st got interested in this case after seeing some TikToks about it. And she began watching the trial because she is working from home now and had time to see much of it. AND SHE WAS SHOCKED by the way msm was describing the trial.

So they now believe what I tried to explain to them before---don't believe everything you read, even if it is supposedly a trusted source of news.

Objecting to someone's parking ticket...or maybe a stolen library card???
I am guessing that Judge Penney ordered her to come in for a little chat in chambers. I think she probably advised Elaine to shut her trap because the case is still active.

I hope she sanctioned her, but we have to wait and see.

Not replying to recent post. JD fan forever! Don't know how to start new. You are all great. This is the best site ever.

Why is everyone "giving" Johnny's money away. Why should to it all go to charity? Let him decide. It's none of our business.
Nobody should try to give Johnny's judgement money away, because my guess is that
1) JD will never receive one cent of the money he is owed by the judgement against AH, and that
2) he will probably be too much of a gentleman to legally try to collect it from AH.

To quote my late father….”Always consider your source.” And many are untrustworthy, IMO, they push an agenda. we need to go back to schooling journalists to be seekers of the truth, not just talking heads…

This case is the perfect example of msm not being trustworthy. Dont you think if people watch the trial they will see Ambers lies and at the same time they will see how msm chose to spin the story?

I’ve seen a good amount of people say their minds were changed upon seeing the trial. Anyone who ask me about it I suggest that they watch key parts of the trial before going along with what msm is pushing.

I don't know if they can do it, but they should try suspending the payment unless she continues to slander him.

She can’t go forward with the appeal before securing a bond. I believe someone on the thread mentioned earlier today that it’s 10% of the judgement.

OHHHHH, I wonder if Judge Penney is calling her in to kick some buttt? The judge was a marine and I bet she is angry at the way EB is disrespecting the court, the jury and opposing council.

Yes, @katydid23!

I absolutely agree that E.B. has been "heavily cautioned" by the Judge.

Has anyone here ever heard a lawyer speak out and accuse jury members like this? I haven't.

Even for E.B.'s sake, I think she should stop these interviews before she receives a "Cease and Desist Letter" and there may already be one on the way.

"A cease-and-desist-letter is a cautionary letter sent to an alleged wrongdoer describing the alleged misconduct and demanding that the alleged misconduct be stopped."

"A cease-and-desist letter provides notice that legal action may and will be taken if the conduct in question continues. Such letters are usually written by attorneys and are often sent to stop alleged or actual infringement of intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, trademarks, and patents. A cease-and-desist letter may also be used to warn the wrongdoer against harassment, slander, libel, as well as contractual violations. Even though a cease-and-desist letter is a non-binding letter and does not have a legal effect, it is primarily sent to the wrongdoer so that it may later be used as evidence in litigation against the wrongdoer if the alleged misconduct is not stopped."

We talk a lot about this in Australia with politics, some of the media outlets have ties with multi-million dollar corps and the media also feeds off of them financially too. We often talk about ways to punish media for spreading falsehoods because there never seems to be consequences for false reporting.

I went back and read this again.
Some things stood out.
But when I signed on initially, the impression I had was that it would be a closed trial; there wouldn't be cameras and fans in court.
Yes there are people in the courtroom. Thats how trials are conducted. Unless its dealing with minors then its closed. Thats for transparency.
Paparazzi outside the courthouse was never a problem, that's something I can handle, but the situation obviously took a different turn once the trial became a national, televised event.
Yes. Spectators in the courtroom and also on national TV you own your testimony.
Before the trial, I had one 50 minute Zoom meeting with Amber Heard and I had lunch with her between sessions on May 23. She was very nice, very cordial and very polite.
So he hadnt even met her before that zoom meeting. jmo

He says he has testified before. Why then did he ask the judge if he had to answer the question?? He did that twice.

His facial movements definitely got peoples attention. It’s not right for anyone to make fun of that but that’s the world of SM. He doesn’t address it in the article which is his right but I wonder if he realizes that people observed it?

This from one of comments to the article:

“Heard was clearly lying and committing perjury in court. Whatever backlash this psychologist has experienced is minimal to the stress and suffering Mr. Depp experienced. The response the psychologist is experiencing is the other side of the same coin. The only difference is there’s some amount of justification bc of Mr. Depp’s innocence and what he had to go through. Heard, on the other hand, lied and manipulated a mechanism for social justice. All these opinion based articles hold no weight until someone comes out with an article that actually acknowledges Depp’s pain and suffering and holds Heard accountable not only for lying about such serious matters but for damaging the worlds trust in the ACLU, the Washington Post, and social mechanisms that ideally are there to protect people”
I'm pretty sure after reading the comments on social media and seeing the caricatures that were made of him, he realizes people noticed the facial movements. People can be awfully cruel sometimes.

you may know more than I do but I listened to the tape of EB on the morniig news show and I thought that she was not criticizing the judge or the jury per se= just stating that there was so much media and social media about the case that it would be almost be impossible for the jury to not hear some of the coverage because they were not sequestered- they were out in the world for evenings, weekends and a hiatus in the middle of the trial. IMO.

It will be interesting to see if EB makes an appearance on one or more of the Sunday morning talk programs, and if she has changed her spiel from her most recent TV appearances. The news cycle is fairly dead on Saturdays, so I wouldn't expect to find her giving an interview tomorrow but I've been wrong plenty of times before.
