How long does each side get for closings?

IIRC court has to dismiss at 4:30 sharp today

I'm not aware of any limits but opening statement were relatively short.

Deliberation could begin with lunch.

I don't know about the wigs..
When watching a British courtroom I can't take my eyes off of the wigs and just how absolutely ridiculous they all look.
True, the wigs are a bit silly, especially when you start wondering how many horses had to sacrifice their tails to continue this weird tradition

JM will be sentenced on Feb. 20, 2026 by Chief Judge Penney Azcarate.

So far, the CW's opening statement is solid.

Good reminder about the knife.

Prosecutor Jenna Sands keeps referring to Juliana as a "nanny"
JM is an au-pair and there are noticeable differences between the two.
Is Sands calling JM a "nanny" some kind of deliberate insult?
imo

BB is still writing. What? Taking notes on the CW's closing argument?

I wonder what is going through his mind as he hears the scenes of his life, every mistake he made...

Perhaps because it's just so American-cliché.

She also kept referring to her as “the babysitter” in her cross yesterday. Definitely think it was deliberate

Not happy with the CW's rationale for the coins endangerment charge. "He could have locked V in the basement, he could have chosen a day she wasn't home." How about 'he could have chosen not to kill her mother'? I know she has to defend the charge but it just felt yucky. Like somehow murder would have been OK if V weren't there.

Overall, she hit the critical points.

Judge rules in favor of victim privacy.
Why does the media need to see the gruesome photos of the victims mutiliated/shot up bodies? What public interest does that serve?

That was a speedy and strange closing by the CW.
No mention that lust and greed led to the murders just right to the point of the CW having the evidence to fulfill the 3 charges.
Did I miss something?
imo

She started there IMO. That he was in love with JM and wanted his wife out of the picture so he could have a future with JM.

I think she meant he didn't sheild the daughter in the moment. If she were elsewhere, like a playdate, she still would be hurt over the loss of a mother, but not in the moment of the murders. And she wouldn't be at risk of violence or witnessing violence if she weren't at home or if the door were locked.

That's my take, fwiw.

Precisely why the judge ruled to keep them sealed.

Yeah, I know. It just hurt my ears.

What's really awful is that he maligned CB as a mother. While failing spectacularly as a father.

Defense closing at risk of lulling jurors to sleep.

How is this credible?

BB enters his bedroom to see a man on top of his wife. But can't quite see because, you know, tall bed. Name me one person who wouldn't already be on top of the stranger, peeling him off his wife.

Nope, BB stands there evaluating these downward movements...

Sure.
