Did LE take the dumpster?
Did LE take the dumpster?
Looking for new news, nothing.... but in reading old items I was struck by this
"[The officer] felt under the circumstances that it was not at that point a missing persons [case]," Haley's mother said. A second call to police from Haley's family and another officer looking into the case classified it as a missing persons case."

Seems this should have a slam-dunk that something bad took place if only the time was taken to check her residence a bit.

He has one of those faces that made me think I've seen him before but then I realized he looks like Mike Baker, a guest host on Red Eye on foxnews at time

Is it bothering anyone else that this brother in law had so much free access and found all this evidence on Sept 4, but managed to not convince KH's mother to call law enforcement until Sept 7? He's got keys and knows her routines, but doesn't know who she's cavorting with and didn't raise alarms for several days? Seriously, I walk into a family member's house and a cookie jar is broken and they're MIA, I'm calling 911. This guy found stains on the wall, patch o'rug, bed, bike, and computer missing. Car messed with, identified a foul odor in the dumpster, and cleaning supplies and used gloves all over but waited a few days to notify authorities? I call foul right there. I'm checking Georgia for similar crimes where he lives(d) there.
More interesting is that the "suspect" was spotted there as late as Sept 4. Which means he spent days cleaning and concealing the crime. The brother in law showing up may have interrupted his plans to continue the clean up. Had cops been able to canvass the same day, better witnesses could have been found. In reality, it is a minor miracle that ANYONE spoke to police in that area. Check the violent crimes there, people get shot in broad daylight in crowds and no one sees nothin'. Keep that in mind when criticizing the authorities. They have to be nearly clairvoyant in this area because there is no community interest. A knock on the door and a canvas is standard protocol, but if no one answers their doors, nothing can be done. Ask if the family was equally as tight lipped. I can tell you, they're sure as heck not lighting up the newspapers with appeals for her return. In fact brother and sister's facebook pages are barely resembling that of grieving and scared family. We have a couple kids that went missing in 1989 here (Newport News). Their siblings and parent's pages still feature weekly appeals and they still make the news as often as possible.
Another question is, if the brother in law saw all this, and told the police all of this from the start I call BS on them dismissing it. I think we're going to find out that he is not on the up and up and tried to stay out of it and that's why the police couldn't pursue the investigation the first time. At this point, I'm also willing to bet money that whatever went down will come back to him.
:bump:
Keeping Kathleen in mind today.
This case like so many others is mind blowing, IMO.
There is nothing new reported and locals from close by towns arent even discussing Kathleen's disappearance. I'm truly befuddled. IMO
I'm befuddled as well. I wish there would be a vigil or organized event of some type to raise awareness of Kathleen's disappearance.
Yes, I agree and it is a curious thing why some cases get so much more media and public attention.
Bumping for Kathleen.
