There was an article stating the Morgan's mom helped her pick out her outfit for that night, floating around somewhere. Here is one:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33480916/ns/today-today_people/
"On Saturday, Oct. 17, Morgan Harrington spent the day at home planning with her mother what she was going to wear to the Metallica concert she planned to attend at the University of Virginia."

The purse is described in this one:

"Rader described her purse as black in color and the type that has two straps and can also be carried as a backpack. "
http://www.virginia.edu/uvatoday/newsRelease.php?id=10167

Hummm that was interesting reading the Radar quote. Did you notice he said her purse was found in the overflow lot next to Lannigan. Would that put us back at the Cage parking lot?

MeoW333, here are some answers for you from your recent post. All we really know for certain is this; Morgan went to the concert. Morgan left the building and tried to return. Morgan lost her purse somehow. Morgan was never seen again. That’s all we know. That may not be all LE knows however. I’m sure they checked the phone and anything else they could for prints. We don’t know if the bag was lost, stolen or left behind. Just that there was a purse. And that’s all we know for certain. Everything else is speculation, guesses or hearsay. Even what was or wasn’t inside the purse.

You asked if maybe the prep was someone she’d been talking to online; I don’t know. Could be. But I do know that LE took her computer and had their IT experts go over it in detail. They know every post she made on every social network going back as far as they wanted to look. (LE said they had two officers monitoring the web for info on Morgan.) They know what she did if anything, in chat rooms and with e-mails. What sites she surfed, literally everything. But it doesn’t stop there. They would have checked every computer she had been communicating with if they thought there was a reason. Her friends, her parents, anyone or everyone. I’m sure they got a court order to tap her cell phone as well as her parent’s phone too (parents most likely gave the ok for their phone). We will never know, but they could have requested a tap on her friend’s phone, her brothers, or anyone they wanted to know more about. I know people have some doubts, but LE is all over this thing. They are waiting for one conclusive thing before they move. I don’t know what, but it’s something.

What reinforces my belief that Morgan wasn’t taken against her will are several things. Of course it just my opinion but I see nothing in what little we know to change my way of thinking. And you have to remember we only know for certain what I covered above. But here it is;

At the first press conference LE said they were not certain that there was a crime and asked for the public’s help in coming forward. Predators like to hunt on familiar ground. If someone had been stalking Morgan at VA TECH they would have grabbed her there, not three hours away. OK, you say, so maybe someone grabbed her locally. This is a ridiculous argument. UVA is a college town. There are people everywhere and more so on a week-end with a concert. I have friends that went to see Jimmy Buffet last week-end at JPJ. They said the entire parking lot and lots across the street were lit up like the mid day sun. That the parking lot was full of vendors selling t-shirts and everything else. Before they went in and after they came out to a lesser degree but still plenty of action. Friends joined them late and commented on the fact that it was a party in the parking lot and Buffet was just taking the stage, so a lot of folks never went in. So if people were everywhere last week-end, no doubt at the show Morgan saw it was the same way. I remember reading in an article early on that the college had put large lights like those used for football games in the lot where she supposed lost her purse. It was very well lit. All of this plus the fact that UVA has over 200 “blue light phones” across the campus and the area make me think that a perp was not going to risk grabbing someone, especially on a concert night. A blue phone is a phone attached to a pole that flashes a blue light when activated and links to the college’s police department. I think there is one on the bridge where she was seen. Morgan would have known what blue phones are because VT has them as well. Add to that the fact there was no worries about a serial killer or rapist in C’ville because there had been no incidents. It’s crazy to think someone would grab a girl on that night of all nights with all the activity. It’s this kind of rational that makes me think she was comfortable with what went down in the beginning and later turned bad.

I firmly believe that LE knows a ton more than they are telling us and that’s ok. We don’t need to know. The comments about no clear cut video information I think, are mis-leading. My friend who went to JPJ last week-end said there were cameras everywhere. Many hidden from public view. Inside and out. That there was no way they couldn’t have shots of Morgan. He is former FBI, so I know his slant on that is solid. Also, I think LE took the camera and the friends cameras as well. There is something on film, either what she had on or someone in the background that LE wants not to get out. Most likely details about her hair, wardrobe, jewelry etc. that they don’t want made public. This way they can determine who really did see her and who didn’t. I know folks were told to look for a camera at the search but that does mean anything. A lot of things seemingly don’t mean anything, except to the men and women who are searching for Morgan; and those are the only ones who really matter.

Hi all. I am in Blacksburg for the next week. Today I went to the VT/NC State game. At least twice during the game they put up Morgan's pic and info on the scoreboard video screen. Both times it got real quiet in the stadium, I know people noticed.

Sitting directly behind me was a pair of men who began discussing the case. One said he is LE from Roanoke. The other man wasn't all that familiar with the case and the LE guy was telling him about it. He didn't really say anything that we don't already know... except one weird thing twice he referred to her found belongings as "wallet and cellphone" rather than "purse" or "pocketbook". I just chalked this up to being a man and mispeaking. The other thing that was interesting is he said that LE has found NO video footage showing her in, around, outside etc the venue or anyplace else... all they have is eyewitness accounts. According to him, she never shows up on any camera anyplace that LE has looked.

I know at various points we've speculated that there could be video footage of Morgan that has not been released. He said he has a mutual friend with the Harrington family so he's been following it but there's just not much there for LE to go on. He said its "like she just disappeared".

That takes us back to those that say she never did make it to the concert. No I don't have a link!

It just doesn't sound like she planned to leave the concert. Something happened - but, what? What happened that Morgan ended up outside of the arena?

Sounds to me like she wanted to get back in and see Metallica.

She texted her friend to let her know that she would find a way home. Basically she didn't want to ruin her friends’ good time on her behalf. You enjoy and I'll find a way home (my thoughts). She headed towards the bridge (maybe hitchhiking) and the wrong person picked her up. Purse and cell phone were discarded. That is why there is no video of her anywhere.

That is exactly why something is up. Pictures of Morgan’s attire have never been pictured. That speaks volumes to me.

Walker, the attorneys would likely run to the press in a heartbeat. Think about the other missing person’s cases you see on Nancy Grace and the like. It has nothing to do with helping their case but rather helping their image and law firm. Often times the lawyers are working gratis just for the publicity with a high profile cases like this. I am from Roanoke and have friends there who are lawyers and in LE (although they have nothing to do with this investigation); the families have not retained attorneys as of yet. No way to know if they’ve consulted one, but none have been hired.

Attorneys are not required to inform the public regarding counsel they have provided to their clients. So how would you know whether one has been hired with regard to this case? Likely one of the young women may have needed advice on how to deal with the media attention; that aspect of the case is what would most trouble the average person & disrupt their lives. If he is just seeking publicity himself, how could he at the same time also be protecting his client from the public spotlight?

That is so true...an excellent point. However, why didn't she try to sell her ticket on ebay or craig's list if she had no intentions of going?

I don't know but I am thinking maybe her mother and father were so excited about the gift and the evening with friends and she didn't want to disappoint them. I think back to when she made that phone call from the halfway point but never a call when she reached the concert. (no I don't have a link) I always wondered why.

She and her parents seemed to be very kind to each other. I feel so much love coming from Dan and Gil Harrington. I almost feel their pain.

Everything you mention does make perfect sense on how you came to a conclusion that she may have went off with someone willingly at first and then things later turned out bad.

The arena having cameras, i would think they would have to have a ton of them to protect themselves from potential liability suits, if anything.

Nothing shows up on Morgan's computer as to hint she was talking to anyone to meet up with.

Not much said about existing cameras inside the arena, with good reason. If it exists the possibility a perp was watching her inside the arena, started talking to her, she returned the talking to him equally, perhaps there was some sort of attraction to eachother they had, and she was to meet up with him outside of the arena. (going with the scenario she had possibly met a guy at the concert)
This would explain why the calls on her cell phone aren't there, there's nothing on her computer, she was meeting up outside with a guy she had met while possibly inside the arena.
She goes outside the arena, and the guy isn't outside there although he is supposed to be. She gets stuck outside. Her friends call to check up on her (they probably know she was leaving to meet up with someone, yet not necessarily who). They suggests different entrances for her to try to get back inside. She does this to no avail.
She continues to wander around the surrounding area. She either meets up with the guy from earlier, or a different "party" and goes with them, then something bad happens and she is not heard from again (possible scenarios)..
Possibility of her pocketbook floating around out there along with other items missing. Her cell phone and wallet LE have, turned in with the purse?
If she had met a guy at either during the concert, or later on, would it also explain why his number wouldn't be on her cell phone?
The sole purpose of ditching her cell phone would be so it wouldn't be pinged. Her father said it was common for her battery to fall out of the phone, so possibly it fell out somewhere and no one had ever taken it out.
Understandable of LE not to release photos or videos of exactly what Morgan was wearing that night, or it would be hard to tell if all the "witnesses" were telling the truth. Process of elimation for potential sightings of Morgan.
Presence of numerous emergency blue light phones in the area, well lit area where purse was found with spotlight used for the football games, vendors in the parking area. Were the vendors for Jimmy Buffet in the same area they would be for Metallica? Do they always or mostly use the same area for vendors every concert?
It really would make it hard for a predator to snatch her away in the presence of a lot of people, and with all the emergency phones, and extra lighting brought in for the Lannigan Field area it would be well lit. The last sighting had to be around 9:30pm, and i am guessing they have her on a camera from a bank or somewhere at the end of Copeley Rd bridge to Ivy rd. The timeline is very tight, until 9:30pm, i think the only reliable proof that would lock that in would be a video of her.
If she was walking by herself, and made it to Ivy rd, where would she have headed? Did she meet up with someone after the Copeley Bridge rd area? Up until that point, if various witness accounts of her outside the arena are true, and the BB players she talked to, she was still "okay" and not showing signs of distress that would be noticeable to witnesses (making a scene or picking up a blue light phone). If she did borrow someone's phone to make a call, that person may likely be key to where she was headed. She may have mentioned in small talk in order to use their phone, very important. LE ask witnesses who Morgan may have asked to borrow their cells to come forward.

You seem to have completely missed the point. Attorneys who would do a high profile case would do so for the publicity of it. They want the media to know they have been hired. It is good attention for their firms.
If any of the young women "need advice" i'm sure LE can give them that, one of them has a father who is LE.
How can a lawyer protect his client from the spotlight? Going to speak in place of his client, or going with his client to answer for him during reporter questionings. Go look at the Haleigh Cumming's case and how Ron's lawyers do.

He doesn't show up at all or on time, so after trying to get back inside to no avail, she possibly finds another "party" to meet up with at some point. Maybe even the same guy, anything is possible. Like a Natalie Holloway situation type thing.
The arena is huge, he may not have met up outside with her the time she expected or at all.
They do have her on videos, the have her on a video waiting online for the women's bathroom.
Not everything can be released, it would mess up the investigation.
I think that no exact photo of her that night (what she was wearing, how she did her hair) was released since it's the only way to rule out accounts of witnesses who claim to have seen her. It'd be the most effective way to rule them out as well.

Thanks for the info. We did have another poster who said she or he heard that they have video of her getting into a car from a bank camera. You have to think that if they did have video of a car they'd either be able to positively ID the car or they would be asking the public to look for a car with a certain description. So either they have a suspect or they have nothing. I tend to agree with your info that the signs seem to point to LE having nothing unfortunately.

Might not be accurate, though. The necklace seems disproportionately large. Also, she might have changed her clothing at some point. Who knows?
Thank you for posting this Walker. This is the first that I have seen this. Was this released by LE? Thank you in advance

I have seen a photo of the necklace she was wearing that night. However, again this is the first time I have seen this photo.

If he is truly in LE, then it's important he wouldn't go into too many details in the case, even in small talk.
She was scene on camera on line for the bathrooms in the arena. I'm guessing they have her on the bank camera as well, and between those two different times on video, it has locked in an 8:30-9:30pm timeline for them.
We have a text going out to a friend around 9:20pm. If she was to be seen talking to someone in a car, the possibility exists it may be someone she met earlier in the evening who she felt comfortable enough to talk with and or get in their car.
LE may be trying to get all the evidence they can, especially if they have a POI who has a lot of money to hire a good lawyer with. They may want to make sure charges stick.

Walker, do you know or have you ever had any dealings with attorneys? Two of my old fraternity brothers and good friends are lawyers that went on to be judges. One is a U.S. District Court Judge based in Roanoke, VA. The other is a Federal Judge in the U. S. Court of Appeals in Richmond, VA. I know of what I speak very well. I’m not an attorney and neither is MeoW333 I would guess, but she is right on target with her post. Lawyers LIVE to get a high profile case and work it for gratis in the public eye. Their firms reap huge benefits. Look at Caylee Anthony’s team in Florida. Jose Baez has put together a team of lawyers that individually would not touch a case for less than a quarter of a million dollars, each. Caylee hasn’t worked for several years. Who do you think is paying them?

In Roanoke if things move forward with a suspect and a trial, that will be about as close as it gets to a “high profile” case in that city. Attorneys will all be hoping to cash in and get a piece of the action. Just like Baez and his team, they can easily do that without ever compromising their clients.
