GUILTY VA - NFL QB Michael Vick, 3 others indicted for dog fighting, Surry County, 2007

Today one of my neighbors wore a tshirt that had a picture of a pit and this heading--my dog hates Vick. I find that fitting. Vick needs to held accountable for what he's done. Local residents are saying he was into dog fights long before he entere the 'big time.'
Locals are also saying he had that house built in that particular area specifically for his organized dog fighting crappola.

LOL He needs to sell those and make a fortune!!

So, how does this stand accommodate a male dog's parts when using for grooming, etc? I'm not good at all on male dog anatomy. I don't need a graphic answer, lol. Just generally, will it work for a male dog?

I don't know..but it sure doesn't sound like the "breeding stand" they described in detail on the news. It had a vise type thing which held the animal's head so she couldn't turn it at all etc.

I know .. comparing the picture of the HOLD EM and the decription of the breeding stand on Slate, it's sort of like the difference between the Honeymoon Suite at a grand hotel, and the back seat of a jalopy.

Vick said he didn't know what his relatives were doing ... the indictment specifically names him as being present and paying out money at these fights, and crossing state lines to get to some of them. It's not my impression that people just make these things up out of whole cloth just to frame an indictment.

My suggestion for a tee-shirt, if Vick is indeed guilty of this, is "V I C K is a _ _ I C K."

And the breeding stands are perfectly legal. I guess the media thought they needed to add that sensationalism to the story. Calling it a "rape stand" is irresponsible.

I continue to be disgusted over this story. We have so many pitbulls, and PB mixes in our local humane league. It is so sad. The "kids" think a PB enhances their tough guy image, and of course it often does not work out.

I will still call it a rape stand as that is just what it is. Why people would force a dog to breed is beyond me. Even on that website it says this is used for dogs who wont stand the breeding, that is rape IMO

Well I'm hoping the NFL does follow through with their review and keep him benched. These are serious charges he's facing and he shouldn't be allowed to play. Yes, he's innocent until proven guilty but if there are witnesses or video that places him at the dogfights then the NFL doesn't need to wait until he's convicted, imo.
