I think if Vick were white this thread would only have 1/4 of the posts, and they would be about what a horrible person he is to torture and abuse animals. Some are making it a race thing because he is Black.
I am right there with ya!!:blowkiss:

Well there are a lot of White defendants that don't confess to their wrong doings either when they're caught dead to the wrong...it's got nothing to do with making Blacks "confess". I wish people would stop throwing race into this. :banghead:

ETA: Did Darlie confess? Did Pat Ramsey confess? Did Scott Peterson confess? Did the 2 scumbags that killed Dr Petit's family confess?

Snip from post: "If Mr. Vick is guilty, he should pay for his crime, but to treat him as he is being treatednow is also a crime," White said at a news conference. "Be restrained in your premature judgment until the legal process is completed."
Their request doesn't sound unreasonable. Everyone is ENTITLED to due process whether we agree with it or not. Even the lowlife b*tches that kill their babies.

except nobody supported Scott Peterson or those types now did they?

However lots of people ARE supporting Michael Vick under the guise of "let's wait for due process!"

Did those same people march and protest in the Duke Lacrosse scandal and argue that everyone should wait for due process? NO. And that was a case where there was no evidence of rape or anything like that.

Mike Vick's case is so obvious, the evidence is all there, it's clear.

Disagree. What a surprise! Is SadieMea playing the race card now???

There would be just as much outrage if it were Payton Manning or Tom Brady. The only difference would be in that NOBODY would be supporting them under any circumstance and protesting like we see in the Michael Vick situation.

Go check and see who is supporting Michael Vick under the guise of "wait for due process" Why didn't they do the same for the Duke Lacrosse players?

Oh and nobody supported Scott Peterson lol.

Well, we should wait for due process. What is to lose by waiting for due process? Just because Al "Tywanna Brawly" Sharpton et al (with their agendas) did not, with the Duke Lacrosse scandal, does not mean I will be the same way. This is NOT about race. I would like to wait for due process before the guy is crucified. If the evidence is there, and it seems like it is... then let it go through the system.

it's not Al Sharpton protesting in favor of Vick errr due process.

in fact I believe Al Sharpton is not in Vick's corner (amazing) and called out against him.

why did the people calling for due process in the mike vick case not do the same in the Duke Lacrosse allegations?

There's no need to protest in favor of due process anyway. Why do you think he's going to court!? Why do you think he hasn't been carted off to be hanged already? He will get his due process and his fair trial in federal court. Is the Michael Vick situation the first time in history the court of public opinion has spoken out? LOL. Welcome to the real world where the court of public opinion does not wait for due process in any high-profile case no matter the crime or defendant!

So where is the problem? Everybody has a right to an opinion and they are voicing it. The sponsors are voicing theirs by dropping him...etc. How did it ever become something about race? It never has been, in my mind.

Vick Reaches Out to Fans, Falcons

Michael Vick Gave His First Interview Today Since Charges Were Filed Against Him. Embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick made an appearance today on the Atlanta-based Porshe Foxx radio program. Calling into the program, Vick gave his first interview since charges were filed against him July 17.

During the brief spot Vick thanked his fans and all those who continue to support him, and expressed regret over the negative impact the dogfighting scandal is having on the Atlanta Falcons franchise. "I know I put the city through a lot, my owner, Arthur Blank, who I love, sincerely. I put him through a lot. It hurts me to put him through this situation." Concerning the Falcons' training camp, Vick said he "wished he could be there." To his fans, Vick said, "I love you all. I'd love to see you again. But it remains to be seen."

"It's a crisis situation for me, but I'm going to get through it and I feel, by the grace of God, that's the only way. I believe in the outcome at the end, and that's why I put my faith in the man upstairs. It pains me not be down there right now because I know so many people want to see me and I want to be there."

Vick pleaded not guilty to charges of violating federal laws against competitive dogfighting Thursday, along with his three other co-defendants, Tony Taylor, Quanis Phillips and Purnell Peace. But this morning Taylor reversed his plea and said he was guilty of all charges. Taylor and Vick were once close but have since reportedly had a falling out. During Thursday's bond hearing and arraignment Taylor was noticeably estranged from his three co-defendants, who neither looked at nor spoke with him throughout the proceedings.

Ever heard of Gnarlene? LOL He has a freaking fan club of supporters, AND Scott is Innocent websites! Sorry I don't how many of those idiots are Black.

Let's see...does the name NIFONG mean anything? You know the prosecutor who was DISBARRED for his actions on that case. Anyway, I knew she was LYING!

Ok...so let's just hang him now. And while we're at it line up Edwin Duncan, Scott Peterson, Darlie, Evander Couey, Michael Devlin,...and I'm sure WS'ers can think of loads more names where the evidence WAS ALL THERE! Why waste time putting them on trial...let them pull their manner of death from a hat, we live in America right?

Excuse me? How??? I am not included in the "some" making it an issue of race.

The reason why not wait for due process is that there's no way I'd let a single penny of mine enrich a lousy animal torturing 🤬🤬🤬🤬. And that's my opinion and my choice, and I made it clear to companies that I buy from that might otherwise send my money to Vick. The evidence is there - this is no single witness, nor just one prosecutor. This was a full sting, and the evidence is plentiful.

And due process is happening - he won't be sentenced to several years in jail before a court case happens. Companies and individuals however, have no such thing as 'due process' - we decide where we spend our money, period.

:clap::clap::clap:Good post Details!! None of us most likely will be on the jury, but we can still be heard and have a voice!!! Public opinion may not render the verdict...but we hold his future in our hands. Vick is poison!!!!

Heck...I'm ready to crucify him now...not because he's Black,White, Asian, Hispanic...that's not the point. He inflicted cruelty, torture and abuse on animals! He WAS involved in something I find totally despicable!!! The evidence IS all there, no question about it. The only way he's going to wiggle his azz out of it will be through his LAWYER, not the color of his skin! I hope his lawyer rakes his azz over the coals in legal fees.

Amen! Vick is getting his due process in the court system but that has very little to do with what or where we choose to spend our hard earned dollars. It's a good thing Nike dropped him, I was about to cross them off my school shopping list.

I havent followed the story as closely as others have. I dont follow football either. Sponsors are withdrawing, and his life as he knows it will probably be over. As appalling as this is, I have to say that I find the killing of the Drs family in Connecticut more offensive and sickening. Scott Petersons crime... etc.

I hope some good comes out of this though.. public awareness.. maybe Vick will be made an example of, after proven guilty, and others will think twice before they go down the same path that he has apparantly chosen.

SadieMae, did you read the quote I included in my post?
I didn't make this a race issue the NAACP did.
My comment was directed solely at the NAACP's involvement. If this was a person of another race and an organization representing them supported them, I'd feel the same. Makes no difference what race that's doing it.

No, no Philamena...my post was not directed at you, but the quote. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding.

Ah yes, but the difference is that Peterson and Ramsey et all are the exceptions to the rule in the white communities and they were shunned by almost everyone. For crying out loud, the Peterson case is one of the reasons this board and Court Tv's board is what it is. No one was out there supporting the Ramseys or Peterson solely because they are white.

Each culture has its problems. Mexicans are into gangs as a social problem. Whites have their issues. Asians also have some tough gangs. However, no other community has embraced depravity as a way of life like the black community. I didn't make it that way and pointing out the fact in light of the NAACP coming to Michael's aid in all of this....for no other reason than the fact he is black...doesn't make me a racist.

The NAACP isn't privy to any information that we don't have. Yet they came to his aid. Do you think that if Peyton Manning was dog fighting, the NAACP would give a damn? In fact, they would probably be out there saying "if this here was a black man, he'd be hung by now....Peyton Manning has to go". They are at least predictable in their hypocracy. I didn't introduce race into this equation, they did. Like someone else here said, once they introduce race into this there are any number of uneducated, gullible blacks willing to go back to their home towns as a hero for "sticking it to whitey" and ensuring Vick isn't prosecuted. That is why the NAACP has taken this stance, they know that no jury which has more than one black person is going to find Vick guilty. They know that if they scream racism, someone will be willing to bite the hook.

The reason race is brought up as part of this argument isn't a bunch of racists who have nothing better to do. When this story is told, race is the only thing that will save Michael Vick from prison. Sadly, there are those who are willing to overlook anything as long as they can be seen as the hero to their community and the defendant.

Sad. I hope that the NFL will ban Vick to the European league for life regardless of the conviction. I think that PETA and the HSUS will keep such a stink going that the NFL will have to act.
