I wanted to post the above post because it shows the above anger at Serial Killers. This was posted at another board by a poster called Wonky:

I understand the anger people have against a Serial Killer and I believe this Wonky poster might be Paul Holes although I could be wrong. Paul Holes of course also has a TV Series coming up and is a former LE Professional. Just one point I also believe he wrongly accused Mr DeAngelo of being the offender through the use of unethical and flawed genetic genealogy. So far Mr DeAngelo has been in jail for over a year and his family have had to put up with this kind of thing as he dies in prison. The FBI of course know in my opinion the actual offender was Ralph Leon Jackson. I would also like to see Sacramento LE investigated for the leaking of interrogation photos as this unprofessional right offender or not. Again I ask the defence lawyers to make notes of what I say in my post and consider what the appropriate action is. Thank you.

Here is an article about ParaBon Labs and their use of genetic genealogy to identify suspects in serious crime cases. You have to subscribe but I still want to post it because I believe ParaBon Labs have been involved in misidentifying many innocent men in the cases they have been involved in. It is my opinion they do not understand the flawed science they are using. In my opinion this includes the case of Mr Talbott in Washington State which I believe was a wrongful conviction because his Public Defenders were not aware in the flaws in the use of genetic genealogy ParaBon Labs have been using. This verdict has again in my view set a dangerous precedent and emboldened ParaBon Labs to continue to use genetic genealogy without being put straight on their mistakes so to speak:

This verdict as I say sets dangerous precedents and is wrong but I still have serious reservations about the involvement of ParaBon Labs as a private company with genetic genealogy in the way they have been involved and want the FBI as public servants to take responsibility because that is the best option in what at the moment is a bad situation.

My view is that genetic genealogy and other peoples DNA cannot be used to wrongly accuse innocent people of crimes. One mistake is not justifiable but it is not up to me to decide the US policy but it is up to me to try and protect innocent US Citizens lives if I believe that genetic genealogy has wrongly accused them of crimes and of course many genealogists have mentioned the spread of investigative genealogy outside of the US. Here is an interesting article which mentions possible developments in 2020. My view is though there is no justification for any more wrongful conviction and the continued detention of innocent people because of genetic genealogy which is what I believe the situation is at the present time:

With the FBI and other agencies now moving to develop internal policies and procedures under the DOJ interim policy, the FBI has committed to leading the process of receiving stakeholder input by hosting a symposium on Genetic Privacy and Law Enforcement in 2020. In addition to symposium presentations, a comprehensive discussion of the interim FGG policy should also consider comments solicited from the scientific community on FGG privacy and ethical implications, metrics required by the interim policy, transparency, and SWGDAM guidance and recommendations. To initiate this review, the scientific community and other interested parties are encouraged to provide the FBI with comments at * U.S. Department of Justice, Interim Policy on Forensic Genetic Genealogical DNA Analysis and Searching (2019); www.justice.gov/olp/page/file/1204386/download.

In the Golden State Killer case I believe an innocent man Joseph DeAngelo has been wrongly identified as the offender and that the actual offender was a man called Ralph Leon Jackson. So far after nearly a decade the FBI have not identified him as a Serial Killer and innocent men are now being held for his crimes for months and years on end. There has even been a wrongful conviction in the case of William Talbott in the first case where the suspect was identified through the use of genetic genealogy because evidence was withheld from his defence. If the use of genetic genealogy continues in other cases other innocent people may wrongly be accused of crimes:

This interesting an article about genetic genealogy from what appears to be a LE Magazine:

Law Enforcement Quarterly

It is my view LE do not simply understand the scientifically flawed genetic genealogy they are so keen to use and have been using it to wrongly accuse many innocent people of crimes they did not commit and hence destroying the lives of these men and their families. Again a photo of what I consider to be of the innocent Mr DeAngelo is shown as the poster boy for the use of genetic genealogy and the Washington case of Mr Talbott. This is why I say the wrongful conviction of Mr Talbott set a dangerous precedent. The FBI know Mr Talbott is innocent and knew this at the time of the trial in the case and since this wrongful conviction several other likely innocent men have been accused of crimes through the use of investigative genetic genealogy:

As I have said here I would not want to see the spread of the investigative genetic genealogy inspired by the arrest in the Golden State Killer case as I believe it is scientifically flawed and has lead to many innocent men being accused of crimes they did not commit. I do not wish this on the US Citizens and their families effected by this and certainly would not want it in the UK or to see it in any other countries for that matter.

There is a Homicide Detectives conference later this year and genetic genealogy will be a subject of discussion there:

CeCe Moore - National Homicide Investigators Association

The chief genetic genealogy scientist CeCe Moore will be there:

Genetic Genealogy Services for Law Enforcement, Media Consultant, Public Speaker Specialties:Genetic Genealogy, Forensic Genealogy, Cold Case investigations, Unknown Parentage Investigations

CeCe is an investigative genetic genealogist and media consultant. She has worked as the genetic genealogist for the PBS Television documentary series Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. continually since 2013 and as a producer in Season 5 (2019). She is a sought after media consultant and the founder of The DNA Detectives, which boasts an online following of over 100,000 people. CeCe also recently joined forces with Parabon Nanolabs to lead their new Genetic Genealogy Services for law enforcement unit, with thirty successful identifications to date.

CeCe is an ABC News Consultant and collaborates regularly with 20/20, showcasing her cutting-edge work reuniting individuals of unknown parentage with biological relatives through genetic genealogy, and helping law enforcement to resolve cold cases. She has appeared frequently as a genetic genealogy expert on TV shows including 60 Minutes, The Dr. Oz Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, Nightline, CBS This Morning, Fox News, Smerconish,The Doctors, Crime Watch Daily, Nancy Grace, and Finding Your Roots. Her research was also been featured on PBS’ Genealogy Roadshow in all three seasons.

Of course the new guidelines about genetic genealogy come in on the 1st of November but here is another recent case where genetic genealogy has been used by LE and ParaBon Labs:

Pennsylvania man charged in decades-old rape case after DNA links him to attack

Pennsylvania man charged in decades-old rape case after DNA links him to attack

I do not know who the offender was in the above rape case so could not make a comment on it. However I do believe ParaBon Labs have been involved in many cases where the wrong offender or an innocent man has been identified as the perpetrator of very serious crimes. Again to any lawyers, privacy groups, politicians or concerned citizens I say again I believe this includes the case of Mr Talbott in Washington were important evidence was not disclosed at his trial. The FBI know that innocent people and have been arrested in many of these cases using genetic genealogy and that includes the NorCal Rapist case where I believe the actual offender was Ralph Leon Jackson and he was also the offender in Golden State Killer case where Mr DeAngelo was identified. Call me old fashioned but I think it would be wrong if a trial in the NorCal Rapist case was to go ahead without this fact being known or presented to the jury.

Here is another case where it appears investigative genetic genealogy may have been used to identify a suspect in a serious crime case:

Here is part of the above article and the DA who was most vocal in wanting to seek the death penalty on the Golden State Killer suspect Joseph DeAngelo was involved:

The problem was the state's scientists until recently lacked the technology to also include usable searches of female defendants.

"The DNA sat in the state system for four years until the science caught up," the county's top prosecutor said.

DNA Technology Helped Solve Santa Ana Child Rape Case

When police were notified of a close familial match, they turned their attention to Lopez, Spitzer said, adding that "good, old-fashioned police work" with surveillance of the defendant led to his arrest.

If Orange County did not have its own DNA database, the crime likely wouldn't have been solved, Spitzer said.

The advance in DNA technology could lead to "thousands'' more cases being solved, said Elissa Mayo of the state Department of Justice's forensic services division.

It is my view LE do not simply understand the scientifically flawed genetic genealogy

How is it scientifically flawed and how do you understand it more than LE? Just wondering as that's a bold claim and i'd be interested in what your qualifications are to determine this?

I do not know who the offender is in the child rape case from Orange County and it is a horrible crime (understatement) and the offender needs to be caught. It cannot of course be an EAR/ONS case. However the DA involved in the genetic genealogy investigation in my opinion has been trying to seek the death penalty along with other DA's on an innocent man in the Golden State Killer case. It is my view that Joseph DeAngelo was not the offender and the actual offender was a man called Ralph Leon Jackson and the FBI know this as they control his DNA although he is very likely dead now. Again to any lawyers reading my posts I believe Ralph Jackson was also the offender know as the NorCal Rapist and I think it would be morally wrong if a wrongful conviction was allowed in this case as I believe was condoned in the case of Mr Talbott in Washington particularly in light of what I consider to be the suffering of an innocent man in the Golden State Killer case which has gone on for far too long:
