Imo, he was in love with the stepdaughter.
Or,
hated the boyfriend/living together under his roof.
Angry with his wife about both.
Youth pastor. Interesting. Are youth in church easy to work with or does one need a lot of patience?
I wonder if he had explosions of temper in the past over other things . Is this a pattern?

Thank you for the link!
In the photos where he and Jeanett are having fun together he doesn't look genuine to me. jmo
Imo this man was troubled.
Not sure if/how answers are relevant, but I'm curious.
Q1. Are youth ministers ( Lutheran, Christian) typically younger, like in teens, 20s, 30s?
Q2.
Q1: Often, but not necessarily. I think he started the job as an older adult - I don't think it's a job he started as a young man and made it his life-long career. I don't have a link to support that though, so I might be wrong.
I don't see a Q2.

Edited to add: Youth minister means that you work with youth, not that that the minister is a youth him/herself. Just making sure that's defined in case people don't know.
So he drinks as an excuse to behave that way. This is something abusers do.
I NEVER, EVER indicated or meant to indicate that drinking was an excuse. Sorry if you took it that way. I know this happened on a "holiday." I read that he was an alcoholic, and I KNOW FOR A FACT that it doesn't take anything to "set off" someone who is an alcoholic. That's all I was saying. Drinking or drugs does not justify anything, IMHO, but it sure explains a lot, at times. JMO and I hope I never come across as condoning crime because of drinking/drugs. So heartbreaking.

What's up with the perp's two gunshot wounds to his stomach? Attempt to commit suicide? Shot by someone else?
Police were drawn to the home by a “reported alarm,” according to ABC News. NBC12 reprinted a transcript of 911 audio that allegedly said, “I have one detained; be advised he shot three people … I got one male subject on the ground. He’s got two gunshots to the stomach … Sir, we have two females down in the kitchen.”
Are you referring to this? bbm

I think the officer was talking about the boyfriend. Did you misread 'subject' for 'suspect' perhaps?
He sure doesn't look like he was just shot in his stomach in his mugshot.
Christians sin and are forgiven. Committing a crime (or a sin) doesn't mean you are no longer a "True Christian."
It isn't that simple. I am sorry I cannot explain it better; I lack the theological ability to do it.
I am a quiet Christian. I have no particular affiliation, but I do believe in Christ. He wants us to follow in his footsteps. Many fail. I do my best.
But when people fail (sin) it doesn't mean they are no longer Christians. Christ does not turn his back on sinners. It really is that simple.
