Nearly a month has passed since Zachary Pruitt was last seen or heard from and his family told Dateline they are worried and just want him home safe.

“Days turned into weeks and we just can’t believe he’s been missing this long,” Zachary’s twin sister, Rikki Pruitt, told Dateline. “We just want to know that he’s OK.”

The 25-year-old, who lives in Chatham, Virginia, was last seen on July 28, 2020, at the Kwik Shop gas station in Dry Fork, Virginia, according to a news release issued by the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

It’s been nearly one month since Zachary Pruitt first went missing at a Virginia gas station, but his loved ones have not given up on hoping he will make it home safe and sound.

The 25-year-old, who lives in Chatham, was last seen July 28 at a Kwik Shop in Dry Fork, according to a news release from the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. The cashier said Pruitt ordered a Monster energy drink before leaving, adding that nothing seemed out of the ordinary, NBC News reported.

His vehicle, a dark gray 2006 Pontiac G6, is also missing. The car has a yellow Virginia license plate reading #4876UT as well as the “Don’t tread on me” logo.

His twin sister, Rikki, who lives in Florida, said their family started to suspect something was wrong when her brother failed to show up for work later in week and then neglected to contact his grandmother, who he calls on a regular basis.

She told Dateline he showed up to his construction job on July 27 but noted he had the next day off. Pruitt texted his boss that he would be in Wednesday — but he never showed up.

On Friday, July 31, his family called the authorities to request a welfare check at his home,where they found his phone and wallet — which contained his ID, bank card and cash — inside.

So this makes me wonder if Zachary came home before disappearing?

He didn't go to work on July 27 because he had the day off.

He was last seen July 28 at a Kwik Shop in Dry Fork.

He lives in Chatham and his phone and wallet and ID were found there on July 31.

-How did he purchase a drink without his wallet or money? It seems like the last place he wasn't the last place he was, which sounds like his apartment in Chatham--which was a drive away?
- When did he text his boss saying he would be back Wednesday--before or after he was seen at the gas station?

He had the day off on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. That afternoon, he was seen (by a clerk) purchasing a Monster Energy Drink at a convenience store. This is considered the last sighting of Zachary Pruitt.

Although he had texted his boss (we don't know exactly when he texted the boss) that he would be back to work on Wednesday, July 29, he failed to show up at the job.

LE conducted a welfare check at his apartment on Friday, July 31, where they found that he had left behind his cell phone, and wallet (which contained his ID, bank card and cash). His vehicle was gone and so was he.

So his keys were missing? But everything he would have used to "go out" was left at home. And his wallet had cash in it, which doesn't sound like a robbery or a craiglist sale gone wrong. This is so eerie and strange.

Have they been able to investigate Zach's online activity in the days prior to his disappearance? Was he chatting with someone? Did they plan an outing or a meet up of some sort? Were there any upcoming events he "liked" or showed an interest in attending? Did he use any apps or websites besides the usual FB, IG, Twitter, etc? Was he a gamer? I also wonder about the terrain in that area, especially along his route. Could he have driven off a cliff or into a large body of water? Dang...he didn't just go "POOF" and disappear into thin air! Hopefully, folks getting out and about this holiday weekend will stumble across something that will provide answers for his family.

Kind of feels like a kidnap/murder but it could just be a suicide. More details about the discovery would certainly be enlightening, makes me lean toward there being some evidence of foul play.
