Presser: This case isn't over yet. Prosecutor already in talks with Banks McKenzie's attorneys... 2 others allegedly involved. #NC5

Vandenberg served his victim up like a pizza to his friends. Remember he could have put her to bed in her own apartment or put her to bed somewhere. Instead he dragged her into his room and invited a bunch of guys in to have their way with her. What a pig.

And I firmly believe had Vandenberg been able to get an erection he too would have had sex with her. He tried, he just couldn't.

Agree!! Agree!! Agree!!

Oh and now the defense for Corey is talking, and he use the victims name.

Although I found Worrick Robinson really unlikable in his closing argument, in his press comments I found him more likable and sympathetic.

She's delusional. Gonna take lots more than this. they have done surveys at Vanderbilt and the majority of the kids know nothing about it

I don't know that I would call her 'delusional.' Remember, this is the biggest and worst thing that's ever happened in her life. Every bit of publicity, every comment on articles or to call in radio shows would have been like a dagger to her heart. She's got to be feeling relieved, vindicated, and probably, yes, hopeful that what happened to her won't happen to another woman.

And if the 'kids' at Vanderbilt don't know about it, then shame on their parents for not talking to them--male OR female--about the dangers of sexual assault on campus.

Thank goodness for those 12 fair, intelligent and insightful jurors. This is the first step in a long journey of justice for rape victims.

I was so surprised they came back so quickly and then I think on, the fact they had the question about count 8. They were charged with going down the line when deliberating.

Just wow!

i am watching the verdict and I think Nick just said that Vandenburgs mother and twin bothers left the courtroom and had a plane to catch...I must have got that wrong?

I had caught that too, earlier, but I'm not sure. I knew he said someone had to catch a plane. One of Vandenburg's attorney's was from CA.
His dad was still there, I assume it was him, He cried out when the verdict was read for him.

It's been a long day and I've still got laundry to fold and dishes to wash.

Gnight Y'all

Yes, he did say that--I bet the mom thought he was going to get NG. He clearly was blindsided by the verdict and the channel 4 newscaster said he asked his attorney, "what happened"? How he could sit there and watch the video and not know that he was going to jail is a mystery to me. This case was a slam dunk. All I can figure is that his family and maybe attorneys filled his head with sugarplums and told him it was all going to go away.

Instead he is going to go away. I'm very happy:)

VandenRapist will now have plenty of time to read the case file paperwork as he sits in his cell for the next 15 to 20 yrs and learn what exactly constitutes rape according to the laws of TN. If his attorney didn't prepare him for this potential/probable outcome then shame on him. The law was clear on the matter and no one can say VandenRapist didn't participate, encourage, and solicit the sexual assault of the victim. He apparently thought he was going to just get a slap on the wrist.

Somehow I missed that this was going on, but have read every page and cried when I read about the verdict even though I knew what it was, I am so thankful the jury could see the obvious wrong and brought it back so quickly so that they wouldn't have one more night of freedom.

If I were the parents of these boys, I would be writing an apology to this poor girl. I would say how truly sorry I am and that I somehow failed at parenting because there is no excuse for what was done to her.

I would like to think my parent know, even at my age now, it wouldn't matter how intoxicated I am, if I saw this going on I would stand up against it. Every parent should raise their child with the fear that just being around something and not doing anything to stop it is just as bad as being the main culprit. If this were my child I would have been sitting on the victims side to send a clear message to my child and that would be if you were even in the position to be around something like this going on and you did nothing to stop it, you are GUILTY of a wrong doing.(OT: my dh and I were discussing potential torture of gitmo victims and I said it actually doesn't bother me and he asked if it was our daughter there would I feel different, I said if our daughter was in the position of talking/working with terrorist I would hope that's where she was) I have no pity on ANYONE who hurts others, and am sick of the white glove treatment some of these people get, and how their parents support them. My child will be raised knowing my love of her will never end, but the support will stop if involved in something that hurts another person. There will be no attorney paid for, there will be no support in the courthouse. And I would be the biggest supporter of her being held responsible for her actions. I very rarely think I am absolutely right when it comes to anything parenting because all children are so different, but with this, I feel absolutely right and think all parents should raise their kids knowing that.

Bless this victim and I hope she is right that this can hopefully prevent something like this from happening. And I am so glad that this sends a message to college athletes, there is no culture, no amount of alcohol that can condone these type of actions. May she take a step towards resolution and healing.
