I assure you, narla and I get along great, thanks for your interest (back me up here narla.... )

This reminds me of a thread that was shut down one day this past week because someone got offended on behalf of someone else and things deteriorated.

If narla felt bashed, imo, she would stick up for herself, or hit the alert, or PM me. Most likely she will just send out several zingers in her highly offensive and loveable manner that we all know and love, even if it drives us crazy....

I know we have to be nice to her, after all, she is having my family and several others to stay with her in Oz next Christmas, right narla? ;)
with all do respect sandra-she did hit the alert button to me!! and if anyone's going to oz, it's me.:o i don't know where you're staying, but i'm staying with narla. LOL sandra-I'm just kidding. we got it all worked out-no harm done. ok, you get her for christmas, i'll go for hanukkah. totally joking. don't take a damn thing i said seriously.
we've all chilled- like i said-no harm done-all is well!!!:woohoo:
there is peace on the board, especially now that i'm exiting.
nite nite all. i'm tired and delirious. narla will tell you all i have insomnia and i can't sleep so i'm up writing delirious things i shouldn't be writing. over and out.

I want to add some other personal background that may give my posts some context. I am close friends with a number of women who wanted to be priests. Their pain at the RCC ruling against women ordination affects my feelings today about Church hierarchy.

I see what fine people they are. I see the Church short of good priests, and I see what suffering this policy causes them. And how stuck/lost they feel in so many ways.

They are still active Catholics, but they have to keep seeking elsewhere for satisfaction due to this policy.
Just some rambling thoughts on the issue of women who want to be priests in the Catholic Church.

I would think that any woman who wanted to be a priest in the RCC would know her Church, know that it hasn’t changed in 2000 years. Infallible teachings of the RCC will not change. They cannot change. The Church has no authority to confer priestly ordination on women because it is an infallible teaching of the Church.

There are a few theologians that will say they think the Catholic Church will eventually ordain women. But the vast majority say that will never happen, because if the Church changes, it ceases to be the Church.

I admire your friends that have still remained active Catholics, even though they cannot be ordained as priests. This is where the “struggle” I spoke of in an earlier post comes in. If they believe that the Catholic Church is the One, True Church, they must struggle with having to accept this part of their faith. Faith is so much more than just believing.

I am rambling too.
I have posted about this before, but it seems more fitting right now.
I have a cousin that was a nun. She was quite a lady. She met a priest who was at her same church. AFter working together for a few years, they fell in love.
They both left their service and married. They still are very devout Catholics and live in Rome. I don;t think they wanted the Church to change and knew that they were the ones that had to change and I am sure they struggled with it. but it didn't change their opinion of the Church and they practice from a different perspective now.

I respect what your cousins did. It's the people who choose to carry on their service and disrespect the rules that I have a problem with. They realized that they can still be good Catholics and serve G-d in a different way. I'm glad that they are happy.

I think that's pretty cool, JBean. When they realized that their hearts were taking them down a different path, they didn't expect the rules to change just for them.

The same temptations that everyone else has, probably. Details are between the Lord and I, though.
