Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder #3

Just trying to refresh my memory.. but back in February 2012, which was over 4 months *before* DM presumably offed LB.. he already knew he needed a gun which was going to end up 'dirty'.. seeing as how DM seems to be more of a 'I want it NOW' kind of a guy.. poor planner, imho.. who was that gun going to 'get dirty' with? Is there perhaps a 4th, (first) victim out there that we don't know about yet? Or did he sit on the gun for over 4 months until he killed LB, and/or for over a year until he followed through with his truck plan?

It seems like MWJ had pertinent information regarding the murder of TB (from The Spec article): "through an agreed statement of facts, Ward-Jackson admits to selling the Walther PPK pistol to Dellen Millard, which Ward-Jackson says was used to murder Tim." But yet he wasn't called as any kind of a witness in that trial. Can't wait until the LB trial when hopefully we'll get some of the missing pieces.

It sounds like DM isn't weathering prison life so well. Perhaps the reality of his current, and future life, have finally hit home.

One by one the pieces are falling into place. I think a lot more will be revealed once the Laura Babcock trial gets underway.

I wondered if it was because he knows that was the gun he sold to DM, and it was established as accepted fact that that gun killed TB at DM's trial - those two things could support MWJ's statement without him having any direct information. Another possibility is that the information came through MS when he was trying to sell the gun back to MWJ.

It's a year later and I still find the "dirty girl" stuff shocking. I still find DM shocking, and I still find the whole awful, tragic crime shocking. This is one of those that just never wears off.

It has always been my theory that DM started planning this theft of a truck way back in early 2012 for that year's Baja 500 race. He may not have had unlimited access to his father's money at that time and he knew he wanted a diesel engine truck to use on the next trip down there after the huge expense of the 2011 trip. Plus he liked stealing things for the thrill of it. I believe he did not find a truck to steal in time or his plan changed for some reason and therefore he missed that race that year. But he may have had the opportunity to use one of the guns later that year on LB. That may not have been planned when he purchased the gun(s) but it may have been very unfortunate for LB that she was hanging around when one of them decided to try it out on someone.

So perhaps towards the end of the year, he decided he still wanted to go to Baja the following spring, his father was putting pressure on him to actually work for a living and he knew the family coffers were running low. So he figured it might be easier to get unlimited access to his father's money and do whatever he wanted with it by eliminating WM. But it appears that after the death of WM, there wasn't really a whole lot of money to access. And it appears that he didn't want to give up assets or change anything else in his life to get access to more money, he wanted to just take what he wanted from other people, by any means necessary, for the thrill of it. We still don't know what the actual plan to make money was going to be but I'm sure it involved more of the same. So it appears that the plan to steal the truck for the 2013 Baja race was back in play. And he still had at least one gun at his disposal.

And yes, there may be more text messages between MWJ and DM about the other two guns, or conversations during some of their face to face meetings, that made MWJ privy to information about what MS and DM were up to with regards to those guns. We'll have to wait and see what info comes out during those trials.

I think he's high drama and likes the shock value that his appearance will likely generate. Maybe he gets attention that way. I believe he did this prior to the TB trial as well. I remember descriptions of greasy hair and sallow skin during those preliminary hearings. Remember the braid? And then he apparently cleaned himself up for the jury. I wonder if he'll do the same for the next one? He's still playing games with the court system so nothing has really hit home for him and likely never will.

Matthew Ward Jackson aka Iisho: This photo came from a mysterious Twitter account active for only a few days

Hmmm, ABro makes an interesting observation here...what's with that? Read a little for free anyway. MWJ has one set of social media under Bigg Iisho, Iisho Muerte and another under the new ID Krucifix14. The Krucifix14 accounts are very active and most recent. The Iisho accounts were active for days.

I always figured that Iisho Muerta or Big Iisho was his "gansta" moniker in his younger days when he was likely dealing in drugs, guns and strippers. He played around with twitter for a few days in mid Dec 2012, posted up lots of gansta nonsense and then when he decided to add "rap artist" to his long list of activities, he took on the moniker of Krucifix. And I guess he decided to use that moniker when he made the move to Instagram.

At first he took to IG with Krucifix14 in late Dec 2012 and then he added Krucifix North to Facebook. The first post seen on there is from Nov 2013. No idea if there were any earlier than that. Was this going to be another change of moniker for him before he was arrested for the DM gun charges in April 2014?

Either way, it appears that he went by both monikers and never tried to drop the Big Iisho one after picking up the Krucifix one. His youtube presence seems to have him using both. Do you think there is some other motive for the name changes and the loss of interest in the twitter account?

Neither DM or MS are at that jail anymore but thanks for the heads up. I'd have to imagine whomever it was, their case was not high profile or the name probably would have leaked by now.

Oh, I thought DM is there, even looked it up before (seemingly wrong).

He was there. From the time of his arrest until his conviction. But he's a convicted federal prisoner now and has no more court appearances in Hamilton so he's been moved. I think ABro indicated in an earlier post that he's rumoured to be at Millhaven.

The trial for LB's murder was last scheduled to begin on Monday, September 11, 2017 but there were a lot of rumours that it would be postponed yet again.

ABro has a bit of an update on that: http://www.annrbrocklehurst.com/201...hs-trial-for-the-murder-of-laura-babcock.html

Has the LB trial been moved to October now?

Toronto prosecutors and defence lawyers have also been working on pre-trial motions for the next two murder trials; the one in which Millard and Smich are accused of killing Laura Babcock, one of Millards ex girlfriends, and the one in which Millard is accused of killing his own father. The first of those is expected to get underway in October.

I have tried to keep up, but I seem to have missed a few things...

Back in late October 2016, it was reported in MSM that Millard would be bringing forth 2 separate motions in spring 2017: one to have the Laura Babcock trial separate from Smich, so that each would have their own separate trial; the other motion to have the direct indictment quashed for the same case. Did either of these motions ever end up materializing?

("The court also heard Millard will file two motions in the spring — the first aims to quash the direct indictment in the Babcock case. He also plans to file a severance motion because he wants to be tried separately from Smich in Babcock’s case.": http://www.torontosun.com/2016/10/2...ay-for-defence-at-coming-murder-trials-lawyer)

Also, Smich's lawyer was in court in early 2017 saying he would be bringing forth a motion to have the murder charge against his client dropped in the Laura Babcock case because the trial was taking too long. Did that motion ever end up happening? Article refers to a court date of March 2nd to set a date for the filing, but I can't really see anything as to whether a date was set, or if a motion was officially heard? Anyone know?
("On Thursday, Smich's defence lawyer Thomas Dungey advised the court in Toronto that he will file an application to have his client's charge in the Laura Babcock case thrown out due to delays." ... "They will be back in court March 2 to set a date for the filing.": https://www.thespec.com/news-story/...mich-wants-outstanding-murder-charge-dropped/)
