O/T: Everytime I think of that picture of that 🤬🤬🤬 McNeill in the elevator, holding that wonderful child in his arms, in that motel in Sanford I want to vomit.

During the time they were still searching for Shaniya, my own 5 year old daughter went on her very first field trip. She was so excited and so was I, and I was lucky enough to go with her. We allowed her to pack her own lunch (I put everything out for her and she packed it in her lunchbox.) When lunchtime came she pulled out everything I had laid out for her, along with a tiny stuffed calico cat, that she had also tucked in.

While we were having lunch, 5 year old Shaniya was less than half a mile away. She was lying among rotting deer carcass, where McNeill dumped her, after he finished tearing her up.

I will never stop crying about that. Sorry for the O/T.

------------
Reminds me.We had a "man" here in Mansfield who raped a 6 mo. old baby girl.I cant say what I'd like to. He was due to die on Wednesday by needle. I need to look it up, I've been sick so off a lot.:stormingmad:

She is likely going to say Nurmi threw Jodi a bone by saying that and creating an appeal issue, that her lawyer was at best ineffective by relaying to the jury that he does not believe in her innocence, that indeed he does not even like , trust or respect her, nine days out of ten. He is supposed to be presenting the opposite!
Regarding her Hope In A Jar, yes, she likely has had work done. She is a very wealthy woman, she appears to me to have had liposuction and plastic surgery and updated her hairstyle since the Casey Anthony case. ( Not that there is anything wrong with it. She is not growing old naturally, she is getting better with age, with a little help. imo )

BBM

Please tell me when he said that. I am watching now and all I heard him say was something like, it's not about whether or not you like Jodi Arias. 9 days out of 10, I don't like Jodi Arias. Saying he doesn't like her is not grounds for an appeal. I can't see him saying he doesn't believe his client is innocent in open court. Even he isn't that stupid.

IMO

Don't feel it's wise to get high hopes as to the verdict, past one's have indicated such and rather anyone thinks "they know" this jury doesn't matter, no one does. My opinion regarding this trial has been the total opposite of my "norm", and I'm just one person.

It will be what it is, and could be a hung jury, who knows.. wouldn't be a surprise to me and that is.....jmo

I have a little bit more confidence since Nurmi asked for Manslaughter at the end of his closing. I'm surprised the TH's haven't been all over that one. Plus, he changed her story once again, not self-defense, crime of passion. This was changed during closings. Kind of really strange to see it done at literally, the last hour.

But, I will never, ever get my hopes up after that other verdict.

You can't show a transcript of a witnesses testimony to the jury.

Yes you can. The jury is allowed to review all of the evidence during deliberation, and trial testimony is evidence. It is at the judge's descretion as to what evidence the jury requests as to whether or not they can review it by considering why they want to review it, how much of it they should be given to review, etc. However, when it comes to trial testimony, it may be impossible for the jury while in deliberations to review certain trial testimony if that testimony has not yet been typed up, BUT the judge can have trial testimony that has not yet been typed up read in court by the court reporter from their "notes" as sometimes occurs during trial.

What the court reporter is typing up during testimony is more like a shorthand rather than regular typed out words, so the court reporter would be the only person able to decifer these "notes" in order to translate that information back as regular English words. The judge can also have the court reporter type up certain sections of trial testimony for the jury to review if what the jury requests to review is a small section though it would be more likely that the judge would just have the court reporter read out to the jury in court whatever section of testimony the jury requested to review and the jury members can then take notes on whatever it is about the testimony they were interested in if they want.

I'm not sure where anyone is getting that trial testimony can't be reviewed by a deliberating jury. Trial testimony is evidence, and the jury is always entitled to review all the evidence during deliberations.

The only example I can think of what a judge would not allow a jury to review during deliberations is testimony that for whatever reason was stricken from the record by the judge and the jury instructed at the time they should disregard or testimony that was given before there was an objection voiced and that objection concerning whatever the witness or attorney was saying was sustained.

"accident" that she didn't get there at the time she should have given the distance. If she told Ryan she would be delayed then it could be used against her that she went to Arizona. She already knew she would just use the "I got really lost" and "then I slept" lines with Ryan. What could she make up for a reason that couldn't later be investigated? If she said, "Oh, I'm going to stop by so and so's" then it would be checked. She didn't care about lying to Ryan and knew she would just use the lost story.

Plus she covered her a$* by leaving that voice mail on TA phone where she rambles on about getting so lost... "fun, fun"

So yeah, I was watching Nurmi and he put me asleep. Is the jury deliberating at this time or did they go home for the night or weekend? Please advise. Thanks.
They went home for the weekend and will be back at 09:00h Monday Arizona time (12:00h EST). Hopefully we have a verdict moments later. :seeya:

I couldn't believe that JA chuckled like she did when he said it. It was truly a dysfunctional moment.

She knew it was coming. They already talked about it. He told her he would say some things she wouldn't like, but to trust him to do his job. She wanted him on her case. There's a reason. She probably thinks she turns him on. ( vomit )

I have a hard time believing it was the first time she heard him say that--or that they didn't tell her in advance it was coming.

KN says Jodi isnt the first person to have a phone die on her without having a charger and she probably won't be the last.

Well, she's probably the first I've heard of to have it die on her, pull over and spend all these hours with a "friend," and NOT look under her dang on seat in the car in all those hours, but then JUST HAPPENS to find the charger while in a fog after a murder.

Do they expect us to believe that while Travis was doing whatever he was doing to the floor, she couldn't take the two seconds to go to the car and look under the seat for the charger that was there the whole time? She had to wait till she was a foggy mess after the murder? Seriously?

How many times have I forgotten or lost a charger before even a short trip and pulled into the nearest Target or Radio Shack or even CVS and purchased a new one because the last place I want to be is stranded on Rt 128 or 93 with a dead phone.

Once my phone is DEAD - not dying or low on battery but DEAD - even after plugging in the charger I can't use it until the red battery turns green.

Jodi said her phone was DEAD and when she found the charger, she plugged it in and immediately texted. She said calls were dropped because she had no signal. She didn't have to wait even one minute for the phone to charge.

I need a phone like that.

EDITED TO ADD: hey, she didn't say she PLUGGED IN the charger, she said she found the charger and TURNED ON HER PHONE. I swear that's what she said!

:floorlaugh:

So I had dinner with a few friends tonight and they looked me so oddly when I was talking about the case.

"Who is she again? Toby something? Weird name, right?"

"Is she the one who was giving BJ on the front porch to passersby?"

"Oh, yeah yeah yeah, she shot her husband in Alabama."

"He was a priest or something trying to leave the church."

"When is it on?"

"The chick who drove across the country in her diapers? I thought that ended ages ago."

GOD FORBID there is a hung jury. But if they need a change of venue, I know 5 impartial residents who can truthfully say they don't know jack about the case.

How do these people live under rocks?

Too funny! My husband and I have had exactly the opposite reactions in our neck of the woods. All you have to do is say "Jodi Arias" and people start to froth at the mouth...."Fry that b#tch!" "I HATE her!!!" "Give me a gun...I'll pull the trigger myself!" Well, you get the idea. ;)

'course, we're in Central Florida and still stinging from that other trial. :( But this jury is no Pinellas 12... their questions were too intelligent (and sometimes wonderfully snarky)!

Now maybe if the Pinellas 12 had been told: "No nummies from The Dessert Lady for YOU!" then maybe they would have come out of their collective coma long enough to see justice was done. But I doubt that. They were simply hopeless.

I DO NOT feel that way about THIS jury.

Chit! It's nearly 11:30...this old lady's gotta get her sleep! Thanks for the company today everyone; you are the best.

I'm still catching up but I had to comment on the phone ringing in court.....

It caught me and KN off guard...LOL

But I focused on 'what" was playing....the particular ring tone.

I don't know the whole song but it says something like "light u up like it's dynamite"....

When I heard that I instantly thought of Travis.....he was trying to tell us what's going to happen in the days to come....

After Jodi is lit up with the first degree murder conviction....."we're going to dance all night".

I know I am.

Yeah it's Taio Cruz "Dynamite"

I wouldn't be surprised if they already unanimously reached a guilty verdict right off the bat today...but they wanted to make JA stew at least over the weekend....I mean after all, they've had to endure this gawd-awful trial for how many months?

When Jodi was arrested, I would guess that she probably had a net worth somewhere between -$20,000 to -$50,000. She owed money to her parents, her grandparents, Travis, Darryl, and no telling who else. Her mother said that she charged her $3,000 mortgage payments to her credit card. This must be counting paying for food, electricity, and other things because I think Darryl said the total mortgage payment was $2800. Her mother said that she had declared bankruptcy before. She sure was the businesswoan.

Don't forget Jodi also owed Travis Alexander money for the BMW she bought from him than ruined the transmission when she left it in gear while towing it back to Yreka.

I think Jodi's net worth at time of arrest was in the negative - she had no assets that I can think of - the house foreclosed and she had to give her car back to the dealer (repo'd).
