About being on verdict watch in general?

A 2nd degree would be a compromise, imo.

I could understand that.

Do we know who the foreperson is yet?

Have not heard that a foreperson has been announced. But, they have already asked for a break. Isn't that kind of quick? just wondering.

When my son had his Pass In Review (graduation, basically) from Navy Bootcamp at Great Lakes Naval Base, we stayed at the Springhill Suites from Thursday-Monday morning, and then checked into an indoor waterpark hotel from Monday-Wednesday. Come Monday morning we check out and we get as far as downtown Chicago to sight-see since our new Sailor had to be back at base during the day when I realize my daughter had left her brand new battery charger for her panoramic camera still plugged in at the desk in the room. I called the hotel and told them to keep an eye out for it and I'd pick it up later in the day when we came back that way.

When I got there that night the hotel manager let me go through the lost & found... the things in the lost & found were pretty typical... camera chargers, phone chargers, laptop cords, phones, pillows, stuffed animals, kid toys and things like that. Except for one bra, there was not one article of clothing in that entire closet. I'm not saying people don't leave things like clothing behind from time to time, I just think in this particular case it just didn't happen. Those clothes were tossed somewhere and are rotting away in a landfill.

I remember when my hubby and I had not been married long we went on a mini-vacation to Florida. We had a great time and when I got back home I discovered that I didnt have my sexy black dress that I had bought for the occasion. He immediately called the hotel back and they found my dress. He was going to be in that area on business the following week and he stopped and picked it up for me. Whew!

IMO

Cammy, I think I figured out the shoe problem. The assumption has been that Jason still owned the size 12 Hush Puppies and that he wore them on the night of the murder. We have to assume that the murderer was wearing these shoes when he entered the home. That would mean that Jason brought the shoes with him when he went to the Hotel, put them on and wore them during the initial attack.

As it turns out, he didn't put the Hush Puppies on, he had to have put on a pair of size 10 Franklins if those are the dominant prints - and they are. So, this guy that can't plan anything has suddenly planned wearing size 10 Franklins to the murder, after the murder he puts on an old pair of shoes that may be in the closet so he can make additional prints. He is wearing shoes, has an extra pair in his vehicle and has to buy better shoes for the funeral.

I thought it was weird that the prosecutor mocked Jason for putting his and Michelle's poem in the casket.

But, if it was going to be a strangulation why the need for different shoes?

Yes, I think the Pros hates this guy so much, especially after the fact he made bail.....and they know it was their fault.

jmo.

YES!

I'm freaking out so much, I've lost my shirt.

(((Cammy)))

Despite being on apposite sides, I've really enjoyed your views.

Me too. Verdict watch always gets to me. :what:

How long does everyone think they'll be out? I really expect them to come back with a verdict sometime today.

Not really. They may have smokers on the jury.

I don't find it strange they asked for a break... they have been in court since 0930 this morning... (and they are used to taking their midmorning break around this time)

A bathroom break? not a problem at all. Could be a juror or two are smokers as well. Also could be jurors who need to check in at home, at work, on child care, etc.

What the defense didn't add was that the Explorer would not have made it to Duffield from Raleigh either, especially with 30 minutes of drive time added because the poor boy got lost. The prosecution should have, maybe they did, pounced on this simple fact.

Not sure about that. Its been documented that the trip from Raleigh to Duffield following JY's route was approximately 376 miles.

The only way JY runs out of gas before Duffield is if he gets less than 16.7 mpg average. Didn't some LE investigator testify that JY's FE got 20+ mpg?

Or at 20mpg, JY would have to drive an additional 74 miles to run through 22.5 gallons <- 22.5 gallons x 20 mpg = 450 miles per tank @ 20mpg
