Still curious why there wasn't a 'causing an indignity to a human body' charge from LE to the accused. It seems common on other cases where has been tampering with the body.
I can't say why but I think one impact is that it removes the possibility of at least finding an accused guilty of something. In this case the jury would have to let at least one of the men walk completely if they can't find culpability in Tim's death. I think that would be very hard to do given the facts and circumstances. So I think it benefits the Crown in a sense to not have any of these lesser charges available because the jury is forced to face letting somebody go completely. If it tuned out to be a bad gamble the Crown has another chance with LB.
