I feel for this jury. No one can say they did not try no matter what the verdict is.

The only up side to them going one more day is there is a snow storm coming tomorrow and I won't have anything else to do but laundry and verdict watch. Now usually when I say something like that they come back and my day plan is shot.

The jurors see all of the reporters and the media every time they go on a break. They also see the family members and the prosecutor. They see all the hustle and bustle and the akward silence when they make an appearance.

They know everybody is expecting an outcome. They WILL deliver it..........give them time. No way can the importance of this be lost on them.

Finally got here! DH had eye surgery, grocery store, next-day-check on the eye this PM since we have icy weather coming in.

Now, time to peruse the bazillion comments I missed.

Off the top of my head, I'm surprised the jury is still deliberating. Obviously, they still think there is progress being made or they would have called it quits by now. Obviously, Zervakos-type juror isn't the issue.

lithgow1--I appreciated your comment very much--I bounce around on the DP--Iowa doesn't have--I just detest what was done to this victim in a court of Law--I don't think defamation of a victim's character after their death is a good thing. I would like to see evidence based on "fact"--not on fiction meant to destroy the victim and their family. I would like the DP just to see the look on JA's face---PRICELESS !!

Thanks very much for that. I agree with all you say. In cases like this, and particularly ones involving kids, it can be very hard to stick to that stance. Some people really test it. But I just feel that if you start making exceptions where do you stop? And killers aren't the only 'evil' in our world - there's some politicians, businessmen and media moguls as amoral as any murderer I've ever read about. Then there are also all the issues of innocent people, no millionaires on Death Row, the idea of the state killing people etc - all those things play into my opinion on it. But like you, I'd also like to see the look on that hideous woman's face! And I don't live in Arizona so it's their laws, their choice eh.

The fact they are still deliberating is a good sign. It must mean that the minority jurors have indicated they haven't dug in their heels and are open to changing their vote. But I'm not saying that this still won't end up hung. We shall see.

I think these jurors are working hard to come to a good solution. It sounds to me that they are not all black and white but gray also because if not they would have come back in a day or 2 and that would have been it. But I think that they are still talking means they are working things out piece by piece and listening as well as talking.

For me I sit and think and think.. yep DP.. And then I consider some more and go back to life. IT is not an easy task.
