One of the defense lawyers took PY to a conference room. WTH??

Bullet-proof vest for JY -- just in case there's a NG verdict???
Where's his mama?

Does the def leave the courtroom like this at this stage ever? If so, why??

It's damn peculiar & bothersome...:banghead:

His mom just went into a small room at the back of the courtroom--maybe a bathroom?

Until the jury reaches a verdict, there can always be a plea *if* the state offers one and the slayer accepts it.

But wouldn't the slayer have to be there, too -- to accept it.

I just had a horrible thought--hung jury?

Huh, wah? How on earth does the mother get to go in and why? I've never heard of such a thing.

Where's the pros?

OMGoodness...

I'm about to eat a table leg... This is a stressful day between this and the CA roller coaster.

No, I specifically saw a sign next to that door that read "Conference Room."

It's just a little room in the back with a little privacy. Anyone can go in and have a private conversation and shut the door. There's nothing special about it.

Okay - I've never followed a case like this and I'm nervous reading all of you pro's not knowing what the heck is going on. I don't like the sound of JLY or his mom smiling. :(

  • #411
Is a juror sick or unable to continue?

  • #412
No, those 2 little rooms at the back are both tiny offices/conf rooms. There is no restroom in the courtroom itself.

This would not be a hung jury at this point...they haven't deliberated long enough to declare that.

  • #413
What on earth is going on?

PY sure doesn't look very happy after coming out of the conference room...

  • #414
I just had a horrible thought--hung jury?

Not this soon, the judge would advise them to 'go back and try some more.'

  • #415
Hmmm, now BH is talking with L & M F.

  • #416
Anybody a better lip reader than I am?

  • #417
BH advising LF and MF of what's going on. Boy, I wish I could read lips!

  • #418
I've honestly never seen this before.

Either there's a verdict or not. I've never seen this back and forth before, while the jury is out deliberating.

interesting and scary!
fran

Don't we have somone in the courtroom?..............a Websleuther!

Prosecutors just came out not looking happy.

Luna,

During verdict watch none of us ever knows what's going on. We spectators are not privy to the inner workings and behind-the-scene deal makings that could occur. So this is a common occurrence. Sit, wait, chew one's nails, speculate....and continue to wait some more.
