It states that she worked in a barber shop. Does anyone know if this is acually true or not. What is the name and location of this barber shop. Maybe thats whete she met the killer. I think its worth checking into.

This same article provides us with more information about the convict who ended up with one of Melissa's phones.

They also discovered another phone once belonging to Barthelemy and tracked it to a convict who said he picked up the phone after she dropped it in a fight with another woman. Authorities in New York also located Barthelemy’s pimp, who corroborated the man’s story, saying he had ordered the other woman to fight Barthelemy because he was upset she had been seeking clients on her own, the official said.

After a man is fatally shot at 55 Allen Ave., neighbors say the area has become home to late-night fighting.

PORTLAND — Portland police continue to try to determine what connection a homicide victim has to the city, and what he was doing Saturday night just before he was killed.


Two Portland police officers are posted outside the entrances to 55 Allen Ave. on Sunday morning after a 22-year-old man was shot to death there earlier.

An autopsy has been performed on the 22-year-old New York man, but the State Medical Examiner has not confirmed his identity yet.

The man was found in an Allen Avenue apartment around 3:30 a.m. Sunday with a fatal gunshot wound.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the shooting or anyone who might have information about the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 874-8533.

PORTLAND - A 22-year-old man from New York was shot and killed early Sunday at an apartment complex where he was living on Allen Avenue. Police are characterizing the shooting as a homicide.

Akeem is arrested in a hotel again for drug charges:
"According to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, agents seized 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine base that was packaged for sale and had an estimated street value of $1,300. Agents also seized $564 in cash.

Cruz was free on bail on charges of criminal threatening and criminal mischief arising from an incident in Portland in June.

I recently had a conversation with Megan's mom and she told me Megan was in that hotel room with Akeem with all the weapons and drugs but she got scared by them and called her grandmother to pick her up. Not long after the cops came. That was May 20th. That crew spent 5 days in jail and then headed to NY - with Megan. Megan had been in that Holiday Inn room the entire week leading up to the day of her disappearance on June 5th.

Now the police reports say the cops smelled marijuana and that's why they entered but what's to say these guys didn't believe Megan ratted them out since she conveniently missed being there when the cops came. Esp since she had just had contact with police for drug paraphernalia 2 days prior.
