The Devil is in the details. I guess I look at this case in a very different way than most of you folks do. I know there is almost no chance we can figure out who the killer(s) is. How could we. Sure we can come up with a list of our own 'usual suspects'. So what?

What troubled me is Dormer calling SG and accidential death when there was no reason to believe it was. That the Bissint rumor started almost out of thin air. IMO, it couldn't have gone as viral as it did if it wasn't started by the PD. A least two posters have mentioned they spoke to cops and they said it was Bissint. Unfortunatlely, I have a wider experience with SCPD than most of you do. I guessed this BS was coming and it did.

What I don't think happened is the LE was not prepared for the rumor to spread so fast and so strongly. It kind of knocked them for a loop. They would have needed more time to pile on more BS. Believe it or not this is SOP for them.

Hawk... I believe in truth and what you spout strikes me as truth. I am also not afraid to say that it scares the bejesus out of me to go there. People with power have power. Enough said.

Check out who lived only 4 or so blocks east of "D". Then check out where he lived in Oak Beach. Then check out when and what price he paid for his house at OB in 2000, and how much and who he sold it to in 2005. Check out what this fellow did in his illustrious career - drugs and prostitution enterprises. Then ask yourself why the FEDS opened a corruption investigation into the very people that arrested this individual. Check out who the prosecutor was in that case. He is alive and well and still corruptinng the system. Only the other day he got a blurb in Newsday in another case of corruption.

A can't-put-it-down account of a case of multiple infanticides by an upstate New York mother, intertwined with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), bad science, and good detective work, leading to high drama in the courtroom. In the mid 1980s, while prosecuting a suspicious case in which three babies in one family appeared to have died of SIDS, Onondaga County's chief homicide prosecutor, William Fitzpatrick,

is this what you are saying? because the
head of the Suffolk County police homicide squad is JACK Fitzpatrick.

what am i missing here...with your lead?

the Long Island Press had an article on the vigil

http://www.longislandpress.com/2012...-frustrated-wonder-if-answers-will-ever-come/

...and Kimberly Overstreet had THIS to say about Bissett being named the LISK:

And this wasn’t the first time false information made its way to the families. In 2011, when LI Aquarium owner James Bissett was found in what police called an apparent suicide, rumors that he was a person of interest spread like wildfire, until investigators confirmed that Bisset had no connection to the Gilgo women.

“I felt so sorry for Bisset’s family when all that mess happened,” said Overstreet. “Because not only did they have to deal with a suicide, but then they had to deal with all of this, and it just pissed me off that people jump to conclusions like that without any evidence. “

Hawk, Since initials have always been acceptable here at Ws and with an address we could all look up an owners name online, please give a set of initials for the home buyer/seller you are referring to....some of us really want to know but have no access to NY property records.

If i missed some dustup and the rules have changed then just feel free to PM the initials.

Hawk said there would be a connection whether direct or in direct. When we find the connection ( he said).we MAY find the killer/s.

The connection is body location. The common denominator needs to be between the very specific, remote area of Manorville where JT and JD#6 were found several years apart, AND Cedar Beach. Find that connection, you've found the common denominator.

A certain hunting group is the ONLY connection to these two disparate locales.

Well, technically, and since you originally included also AC, the only common denominator was what several hunting groups hunted. But that would mean, the killer is a duck ... so, maybe I misunderstood your theory? What I can see however is, that the relative vicinity and that two killers share the two only fitting dump areas in the wider area. It's not that any SK has much alternatives around there. Reminds me a bit of the I-45 corridor in Texas. They had so many SKs there, that the poor guys run out of room and had to reuse each others dump sites. Which made LE think, this strangler/stabber/slasher/dismemberer/shooter of white/black/hispanic girls/boys had to be one and the same ... yeah, right? Consequently, they had some trouble to believe when they, in diffierent incidents caught four or five out of the lot by accident that their confessions were real. :floorlaugh:

Body location as connection. Hmmm. Very thought provoking idea. Thank you.
Good to see you back IG! : )

@lack of good dump sites and having to re use other SKs sites. It was hard for me to imagine AT FIRST that two or more SKs would drop there bodies in the same area, either coincidently or with knowledge aforehand that there were already someone elses victims there. Over time however I realized that this is plausable.

I like your theory esp. for MV. Does it hold up if there are more than one killer (which I believe there is)?

Does anyone remember the video of MB's mom (a news clip that was edited VERY promptly)? Could someone help me the posts regarding this?

Are you talking about the GMA interveiw?

No Jf this was not a sit-down interview situation. I think MB's mom was there on/near/around the parkway where the victims' bodies were found. It was a very brief Q&A. But, thanks for trying :) She said something that many of us decided LE didn't want us to know because when the station replayed later.... what she originally said was omitted.

Do you remember the gist of it or don't you wanna say without a link?

Well, the only "link" (that I am aware of) that this occurred is here in the WS threads. If either of us can find it... we will be on the same page :)

I don't know the link, but I recall a clip of her driving in her car and discussing the case. I specifically remember this because I was focused on her accent. She had that mix of Northern Cities/NYC accent that many people from upstate NY tend to have.

I remember the accent too... primarily because it's so different from my own :)

For some reason I can't quite come up with the search terms to be successful in finding the posts, but know I'll find them eventually,

There was a video at the beginning of this thread from Channel 12 News, Long Island. When you get to the video it is now gone but you can read the comments that follow to get the gist of what Melissa's mother said. Is that what you are talking about?

From the above link:

Lynn Barthelemy, the mother of Melissa Barthelemy, whose body was discovered on Gilgo Beach, also traveled to Long Island today. She says last month, she got a call from the coroner's office informing her that another part of her daughter's remains was recovered.

Thanks Redbird. I brought it up front
