Victim "Peaches" IDd as Tanya Denise Jackson, and toddler IDd as Tatiana Marie Dykes, found Hempstead Lake State Park, June 1997 #4

  • #441
Tatiana's remains were found 250 feet away from Valerie Mack. I would be shocked if there was someone else dumping bodies in that exact stretch of beach.

Where are people getting 250 feet from?

The map says .04 miles, which is over 2000 feet

Wow, Peaches and her baby are finally ID’d! This will no doubt answer many questions. Whoever her roommate or neighbor is who took care of the baby is likely another victim.🙁

Maybe the sitter wasn't available (because she was a SWer who RH already killed) and RH was her last known contact so Tanya went there, never imagining RH was a SK or her sitter was a victim.

I wonder if there was another unreported missing woman/victim at the same time. Tanya could have walked right into a trap.

Crazy question, I know… Tanya was dismembered but do we know what injury caused her death before she was dismembered? They must have done some sort of autopsy. If so, there might be some interesting evidence in that autopsy report. I hate asking these questions. What body parts were found on OP and was only her torso in the Rubbermaid container?

I feel it's still possible someone could have been aware of the remains already found and dumped Tanya and her child in order to attempt to have them added to a serial killers dumping ground rather then be identified as an outlying case.

.04 of a mile is 70.4 yards or a little over 211 feet.

An excellent reference link.

Hopefully Newsday and NYC and Long Island papers put KDJ & TMD on their front page.

"Judging by newspaper archives, Peaches Doe's murder didn't garner a huge amount of attention at the time (this was long before it became apparent that Long Island had an unidentified serial killer).

A few newspaper articles were published in the days following the killing. However, they were nowhere near the front page.

For example, the clipping above appeared on page 39 in the July 1st, 1997, edition of Newsday.

The police published a photograph of the victim's tattoo in the local newspaper in the hope that someone would recognize it.

Following this development, LISK started concealing his victims' tattoos—a sign that he may have read this article and learned from his mistake. If this is true, then he was paying close enough attention to see the public"

0.04 ... not 0.4. So ~250 is correct.

Oops, I see that someone above already explained the correction.

At least with Jessica Taylor, right? So the tattoo part is great information.

The similarities of the green tote containers is also very interesting.

I see so many reasons to add TDJ and TMD to RH's column.

On the other hand, there are reasons that make me question they belong to RH:
1. Authorities have had their names for a year, so plenty of time to check DNA. Peaches was discovered in the green tote and a black garbage bag. Both good items to provide evidence. Plus, the authorities have had plenty of time to see if the totes are from the same batch.
Remember that in the HK document, RH listed being aware that garbage bags could be traced back to the box. Surely he would have thought the same could be done for the tote containers. So, would he have kept a tote from the same time frame for 26 years?

Although, even if the totes don't match, I can't rule out RH playing a game. IF he did kill TDJ and place her torso in that green tote and if he had others, I suspect he would have gotten rid of the same batch totes. However, and here is where the game would come in, I can see him purchasing same tote, same color a few years down the road just to mess with evidence . . .

By Nassau holding the identities back for over a year and knowing all the DNA work done on them, I tend to think there's either nothing to rule RH in or there is something found in the tote and/or plastic bag that leads elsewhere. I sort of think that if LE believe RH was responsible, he would have been charged with the announcement today.

I'm glad Nassau is exploring all possibilities and not just jumping on the RH bandwagon, no matter where the case winds up.

A 2011 WS thread
We know who once worked summers at Jones Beach.

No sketch available

Jones Beach State Park
Near Zach's Bay, east of Jones Beach Tower
Nassau County, NY

11 April, 2011

Found in a plastic bag less than 40 feet from Ocean Parkway -- 1.5 miles east of the Jones Beach tower.

"Police have confirmed that the latest set of bones found Monday morning at Jones Beach State Park are human remains.

Those remains, potentially those of a 9th victim, were discovered near Zach’s Bay at the park, which is about a mile and a half east of the Jones Beach water tower." (CBS New York)

"The blanketed body of the youngest victim, a girl no older than 32 months, has been connected to another of the victims: a woman whose partial remains were found seven miles to the west near Ocean Parkway on April 11, Suffolk County police officials said Tuesday.

.Whenever I see the green bin marked "Keepers" I think of the documentary "The Keepers" the murder of Sister Catherine Cesnik that just recently came back into the spotlight.

So thankful Tanya has her name back and is reunited with her daughter. I believe LE were doing there due diligence and ruling out the father of the baby as Tanya does not fit the MO of the other victims. I do also wonder going by the items found with Tanya if she was working part time out of a motel to make ends meet. ( looks like generic cheap bedding ) huberman engaged her services and murdered her at the location along with the baby. It’s the only scenario that makes sense to me.
