What was Emily wearing? Were they just driving for a foliage tour? Or had they done some hiking/planned on hiking and therefore dressed more appropriately for the weather? One thing we know for sure: if she got out of the car at 1 PM when the weather was still clear, within a few hours it was raining hard and she was getting soaked if she was still outside walking around. Even if she was dressed appropriately for fall hiking, she would be cold and wet about 2 hours after getting out of the car.

.

Her attire was reported by the State Police as:

She was last seen wearing white sneakers, ripped jeans and a long-sleeve black shirt.

According to all the articles so far.

Thanks, I guess that didn't sink in when I was reading all the reports. So, not even a coat, sweater, fleece or anything else that would keep her warm in cold wet weather.

As Vermont police search for missing New Hampshire woman, husband's whereabouts unknown - WMUR
<snipped>
[...]

Vermont State Police said they want to speak to Joseph Ferlazzo but have been unable to find him. He was reported to have last been seen by a friend Monday night in St. Albans, Vermont, near the location where the camper van was found on a property belonging to a friend of his. State police said they're also are working to determine when Emily Ferlazzo was last seen by someone other than her husband.

[...]

Joseph Ferlazzo is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair, a nose piercing and multiple tattoos. He was last seen wearing a dark gray three-quarter-zip sweater.

The couple's dog, a medium-sized mix breed named Remington, is also missing.

Sounds like he's no longer driving the camper van. Things that make you say "hmmm, that's not suspicious." Hope they have an idea of what he's driving. Since he was last seen in St. Albans, he could be on a boat as well, since Lake Champlain is right there. I have many friends who live in St. Albans, hope police don't think this guy is a danger to the public. Looking forward to the press conference coming up.

This area is near the border -I'm minutes from it - wondering if it was an option early on

There are certainly plenty of unofficial crossings he could use. No way he'll get through an official border crossing because of Canada's tough COVID requirements for visitors.

So now we know he told police that he drove to the Bolton convenience store. That's the one not even half a mile from where he said she got out of the car. Imagine that would be a pretty quick turnaround time to get back to where he left her. What, 10-15 minutes tops? And she was nowhere to be found, he said.
